I'm beginning to miss having shadows switched on but the old ATI X800 won't tolerate them.

Would anyone mind recommending a card that will definitely run Race in its full beauty?? Pretty sure it needs to be AGP or PCI only.

Cheers,

J

One of these Badboys in PCI  GeForce 8800GT 512M, cheap as chips for what you get Smiley

That one's PCI Express Don. Wink
Best card out there though, if you can actually find one in stock!

AGP? I'd say your best bet is a Radeon X1950XT. Should be about £115-£140 online these days.
It should run it pretty well, but bear in mind these games seem to be fairly heavy on CPU as well. After that card, you'll have to upgrade your system to a pci-express to be able to get any further increases.

Excellent, ta for the help people. Looks like Aria have them in stock if anyone else is after one - http://www.aria.co.uk/Products/Components/Graphics+Cards/PCI-E/nVIDIA+GeForce+8+Series/MSI+GeForce+8800GT+512MB+Overclocked+PCI-E+?productId=29171

Always the way with PC's isn't it, look at upgrading one component and before you know it your Switch card's smoking! The current CPU's nothing special, just an AMD 3200 (1.8GHz). Might be better off looking at one of Dell's gaming machines with quick CPU, disks etc and just taking the hit!

Might be interested tho if that'll definitely run it properly Will, would you mind PM'ing me with price?

Cheers,

J

Looks like Oily is intertested in a PCI-E card now anyway....going buy that aria link anyway.

Best be careful you don't buy the wrong one - they aren't compatable!

The 8800GT is an excellent card for the money - thats what i'm getting  Cool
But it is PCI Express only - make sure your motherboard is PCI Express compatible.
