P.S. If you're using manual clutch and not lifting whilst shifting up then you are putting a massive amount more strain on the engine, that is certainly why Jeff's engine health plummits at 3 times the rate mine do.

That is true, but it's weirder than that. The only time my revs hit red, is in the upshifts, which is very briefly. On the main straight and on dowshift blips I never ever hit red. I heard you talking about revving the ...  out of the engine on the mainstraight. You'd expect a few seconds a lap redlining it would be worst than brief upshift moments.

Just noticed you are only just up the road from me.

Oh wow! Yeah just noticed where you are too! Smiley
We shall have to meet up when the motor racing season starts again - go watch some classics at Combe or something Wink

Yeah I had quite a bit of bad luck actually didn't I - bit of a Raikonnen season (in his McLaren days) haha.

I only live 5 miles from Combe and I'm there every race meeting - I get a season ticket every year. Give us a shout if you get to any of the meetings next year. If you forget I'm usually in the paddock at lunch time with the 67 Focus from the saloons. My mate Terry drives this one, and with luck Paul will be back out with his Impreza next year too.

Great! Is it the May bank holiday (or earlier?) that they do the 1st HTCC round (Top Hat that merged with another classics series that I cannot remember the name of).... that is always good, will definately go to that, so see you there for sure Cheesy

Which Paul are you referring to ?

Combe has 2 or 3 historic race weekends, I can't remember which is which to be honest. Bit of a shock but Combe have the race dates up for next year, that's well organised for them Wink
