Moderator's Report

Server replay time: 90s

Brian Kerr moves off on the pace lap ahead of FreQ who qualified in front of him.

Regardless of what order they should have been in, FreQ should not have overtaken during the pace lap - he squeezed through a very tight gap and could easily have caused an accident and chain reaction.

Brian of course should not have pulled away ahead of FreQ.

  • Joss (FreQ)caution — overtaking on the pace lap
For advice only - unreported by victim, so penalty disregarded
  • Kerr (Brian Kerr)caution — overtaking on the pace lap
For advice only - unreported by victim, so penalty disregarded

Server replay time: 220s

At the end of the pace lap, the leading five cars join the back of the pit limiter snake as normal, but TrueTom chooses exactly the wrong moment to suddenly speed up as he warms his rears and cannot slow down again before piling into the back of Baracus, who spins off.

Ruskus then passes TT as the latter slows down and the field gradually reassembles itself into the correct order following a rather risky spin rejoin from Baracus.

The incident as a whole has a fairly large cost in time to Aagramn in 8th and everyone behind him, and risked a much more serious chain reaction incident.

....and had my first proper battle with Bara for eons. We used to have these every other race, why's it been so long?!  laugh

Yes that is a very good point! I have no answer really, but I know I miss it! Is it since I started driving the F575 instead of the F550? (i.e. this season??)

And no it wasnt my tyres that went off in this race as such, it was my brain Cheesy
I was going way quicker than my previous PB's for the whole race really... took it out of me lol

Then I thought it looked like people were waiting for me to go back infront but maybe I was mistaken in thinking this!? Anyway my instinct was to pull into the gap and try to catch the guys still on the limiter before the line and I could see others still pretty close to me.

LOL, I think that was a case of people being sensible and getting out of your way and backing off rather than "letting" you back in. Smiley Was very odd cause all I saw was your Ferrari coming back onto the track at 90 degrees into what I thought was luckily a gap rather than leaving you a gap.  Shocked I'll take a look at the replay and see if there is anything we can learn.

Well done to Mark on the win btw, great job and some fantastic pace by the top guys last night.

I find with this track that time can be won or lost with getting the braking right into the 4 or 5 main braking points. In quali I was 5 10th's up just by getting it right in the first turn, but then got it wrong later in the lap. Iam still learning, but the main area Iam bad at is getting a feel for the brakes, I seam to brake to early or too late and lock up.  Smiley

I started by messing the start up, I put my rev limiter on as every one drove off. I then was trying to catch up but made a few misstakes so I decided to try and settle into a safer pace and maybe pick up a few places if people ahead made errors. With 12 laps to go, I had sort of worked out that my fuel would be low, I thought it would be ok as it was the same set up as I used for the UE, now I know to add a little more.  Wink

Thankyou, and iam looking forward to next season.

Ooops! Sorry guys. It's amazing what your brain can tell you in that split second Wink

The pace was very good last night. I had a quick look through lap chart and although I was slower in the Lister in qualifying my race pace was better. Slightly quicker faster lap, but the Listers tyres don't drop off as much as the lambo.      With the lambo after about 17 laps or so the tyres seem to lose about a second a lap but the listers about half a second. Even though I was quicker than endurance it helped me jump Freq but not enough to beat Mark of SBG.             I will wait until ballast and tyres etc have been decided before making my choice of car for next season, but i'm sure the lister will be high on list.             Well done to Freq/Ruskus and Team shark on championship win. Well done to all for the stiff competition over the season too.

Sorry to all that i quit out last night, its not something i like doing  :(but i turned up last night just before qually and had not done any practise whatsoever in the Lambo at Zhuhai, because of busy xmas spell.
I have also spent the last week playing the RFactor PCC07 mod so the feel of the car and wheel/ffb settings felt so alien to me that i could hardly control the car out of any of the corners. The fronts felt like ice to me last night and i was really struggling for grip.
As the race progressed i started to fall away from the pack at a second a lap, getting pretty demoralised so then when i span at T1, enough was enough, there was no racing for me to be had.

Thanks to the organisers, moderator team etc for another season. I just couldnt commit to it enough this time around to be competitive.

A very tough race-long scrap for 7th place. Ruskus' uber-heavy MC12 was lacking in race pace, but passing him was another matter. Could close up under braking, but Ruskus was always quick out of the fast corners, making it hard to get a tow. Kept him under pressure but was losing time, allowing first Stew and then Simon to close up on me as well. Got a run on Ruskus a few times, but he defended cleverly, and I had to keep backing out. Knew I had to be patient, and that I'd get more chances as his tyres wore down. Made a mistake, letting Simon past, but he returned the favour and I resumed my battle with Ruskus. Had a scary moment when Stew disco'ed, I glanced off the side of his stationary car, but managed to keep going. Eventually managed to get alongside at the fast kink before the first hairpin and took the place. Unfortunately there was a slight contact which left Ruskus behind Simon. In clear air I set my fastest time on the penultimate lap. Almost ran out of fuel on the last lap, good job I made a last minute decision to add a couple more litres.

The Lister was very quick and stable again. I managed to go half a second faster than my best (ballasted) F550 time, although I did have the advantage of -25KG success ballast as well.

Congratulations to Mark for the win, and SBG for the storming pole time. I've only raced 3 times this season, due to technical problems and being busy with my move, but the driving standards in this league have been superb, for both pace and clean driving. Shame about the low turn-outs, hope we can get enough drivers for GT1 next season. Many congratulations to Ruskus & FreQ for their championship tie.  thumbup2 clap
