For me, I didn't have the impetus to pracci and my interest soon waned in race after DG was booted from just behind me.
I was?
Two 7th places doesn't really tell the story of my races
but I think I'd have noticed getting booted. Unless there's another 'DG' I haven't though of... This is all from memory as having behaved impeccably during the race, Race crashed when I tried to view my "fixed" client replays.
Started from exactly in the middle of the field in race 1 (13 of 25) - got an okay start and shot past Picnic before settling into some space behind the fast pack and ahead of the slower cars. Judging from the way people were walking away from me on the straights I went for a bit more wing than most, but the payback was excellent traction out of the slower stuff. Was just about keeping tabs on the car ahead (SbG I presume from the above) but something or other happened - think I ran wide out of the fast chicane, and found myself back in the thick of things. Then had a top notch battle with TinMan, swapping places several times before I finally managed to make a break for it - hopefully I didn't use too much of the left side of the fast chicane when I made the final pass.
Should have finished the race in 8th and thus got pole for race 2 but came out of the final corner to find FreQ sitting fuelless on the grid so I had to 'settle' for 7th.
Race 2 was mad - from second I got the perfect start and led easily into the first corner. I'd taken off a notch of rear wing in the hope that I could find better straight line speed but in hindsight it didn't make a whole lot of difference, but did spoil the car's ability to get into and out of the hairpin.
Somehow I managed to do a great job for three laps holding off the much faster pack behind until FreQ got by; that opened the floodgates and I ended up running off in the first sequence of corners as the rest of the quick guys streamed by.
That put me back into a battle with... you guess it... TinMan!
Another excellent battle and again I finally got the break by getting ahead into the fast chicane - again, not really sure how much curb on the left I used, if it was too much (I'll check the replay) I'll report myself for a damned good slapping. After that it was a matter of keeping my cool, picking up another place when Mark McClean spun to finish 7th yet again. Must be my 'thing'.
