However I also had a bit of a problem. I was on practice server with Mr BA and when he left my escape button would no longer work.

I had done a few sequences of a few laps and escaped back to the pits. One he left the game I was stuck on the track and could still drive and all other functions seem to work, except escape

Sugar! Think our Adam had the same problem out on track, he had to blow his engine to get back to the pits!?
C'mon Simbin get that new patch out!!

Word from Simbim:

These are two major things causing problems with the patch

1. Custom skins
2. Replay saving "off" causes crashing

We are working on it to patch it as soon as possible

So maybe turn replays on or something, maybe it fixes something  Huh

Oh no.

Hopefully everyone will get in fine and hopefully we will not suffer many disconnections.

What action can we take to keep problems to a minimum?

Maybe worth highlighting any measures

Yeah, bit random.  Bernie was hotlapping, and I wanted to change my setup ... tried to pit (HAHAHA - that was NEVER gonna work!) etc.  In the end I blew the engine up out of frustration (amazing what happens when you're doing 100+mph in 1st Cheesy) .... and once I had finished watching the smoke clear .... it let me back to the garage?!?!?

So ... what's the plan gents ....

I'm not sure we can do anymore than ask people not to use custom skins, recreate a profile, and turn on replays! Roll Eyes  Huh

Anyone suffering CTD's after installing patch try turning replays ON, as mentioned by JR. Done the trick for me, after 15 mins trying Roll Eyes

Great turn out and I wish you all good luck. It should be fun Smiley

For me, I didn't have the impetus to pracci and my interest soon waned in race after DG was booted from just behind me. I shall find my fun elsewhere. Race generally leaves me cold.

Did notice ruddy annoying join and leave lags, which I think are the norm?

Pb in quali, and was running well in 2nd until I made a few mistakes and let Zacari and Backo through, just had to keep Bernie behind so was a bit lonely for a while.

2nd race was much different, I made a screamer of a start and got up to 3rd behind Dave and Freq with Jeff right behind, didn't take him long to get past and then I just had to try and get past Freq and Dave.

Dave made a mistake and then I took a few laps to get back up to Freq with Zacari, darting around behind me, we were three abreast going into T1 but Freq came off worse unfortunately and spun (sorry) then it was an epic fight for the remainder of the race to keep Zacari behind.

I knew my set would start to wane at the end and sure enough it started to understeer, but I luckily had just enough to get 2nd.  Shocked

Thoroughly enjoyable (if hard work) and good clean racing and an excellent turnout. Grin

Grats to Jeff, Backo and Zacari for other podiums

That was hard going.

Qualified far better than I had hoped.

Race was going not too badly. I was holding my own until Freq squeezed past.

Later I made a mistake and ran off hitting the tyres. The steering was knocked off and I had to drive turning the opposite way to keep the car straight.

I had a good gap to the cars behind but I could not keep the car on the track, it was too badly damaged.

Mistake after mistake the others caught me and I ended up crashing out.

Started last in the second race and opted to change set up, wrong move.

Had a minor coming together at first bend and I was left facing the wrong way and miles behind.

Tried my best to catch but I could not. Made my way up a bit but the other drivers were so equally matched I could not gain any ground.

For me, I didn't have the impetus to pracci and my interest soon waned in race after DG was booted from just behind me.

I was? Huh Two 7th places doesn't really tell the story of my races but I think I'd have noticed getting booted. Unless there's another 'DG' I haven't though of... This is all from memory as having behaved impeccably during the race, Race crashed when I tried to view my "fixed" client replays. Roll Eyes

Started from exactly in the middle of the field in race 1 (13 of 25) - got an okay start and shot past Picnic before settling into some space behind the fast pack and ahead of the slower cars. Judging from the way people were walking away from me on the straights I went for a bit more wing than most, but the payback was excellent traction out of the slower stuff. Was just about keeping tabs on the car ahead (SbG I presume from the above) but something or other happened - think I ran wide out of the fast chicane, and found myself back in the thick of things. Then had a top notch battle with TinMan, swapping places several times before I finally managed to make a break for it - hopefully I didn't use too much of the left side of the fast chicane when I made the final pass. Shocked

Should have finished the race in 8th and thus got pole for race 2 but came out of the final corner to find FreQ sitting fuelless on the grid so I had to 'settle' for 7th. Roll Eyes

Race 2 was mad - from second I got the perfect start and led easily into the first corner. I'd taken off a notch of rear wing in the hope that I could find better straight line speed but in hindsight it didn't make a whole lot of difference, but did spoil the car's ability to get into and out of the hairpin.

Somehow I managed to do a great job for three laps holding off the much faster pack behind until FreQ got by; that opened the floodgates and I ended up running off in the first sequence of corners as the rest of the quick guys streamed by.

That put me back into a battle with... you guess it... TinMan! Grin Another excellent battle and again I finally got the break by getting ahead into the fast chicane - again, not really sure how much curb on the left I used, if it was too much (I'll check the replay) I'll report myself for a damned good slapping. After that it was a matter of keeping my cool, picking up another place when Mark McClean spun to finish 7th yet again. Must be my 'thing'. laugh

Sorry Brian, I think that might have been me.  Embarrassed

At the time I thought it was just a door to door contact...  I looked behind and saw a pack of cars right on my tail, I just assumed you was one of them...  If I had known you had spun I would have waited for you..

Sorry it ruined your race..  Embarrassed

I would just like to thank Don for all his hard work in organising these events.  Well done!  thumbup1

No worries Madd, I probably shouldn't have tried to go round the outside of you and Zacari  Tongue

The only place I seemed to be fast was the entrance to T1, everywhere else the time just eeked away and couldn't really see where it was going. Pleased to set a best lap of a 1:16.1 as I couldn't get out of the 17's in practise, but also glad I only spent an hour practising (having not touched Race since the start of Dec).

Everyone's soooo close in this game, great if you're battling, but one wrong move and you're toast! Had a good battle with Bara in R1 and was fun running 1-2 with Dave in R2. I weaved in front of Jeff just to be annoying Grin but didn't realise how much speed these sh*tboxes lose when you turn, I lost about 5 or 6mph and he shot past!  :'(  On the straight!

V pleased with 5th overall, well above what I thought I'd get. I don't really like Race 07 and hate these Radicals, so points are the aim.  Undecided
6 laps from the end of R2, I wanted to turn some music on! When there's a gap in front and behind, a bit of trance would be nice I think  Cool
