Moderator's Report

Server replay time: 1564s

Psuedo is in front of Andy Eves approaching a hairpin. Psuedo missed his braking, taking the entry a bit wide. This forces Andy to take evasive action, so he dives to the inside. Because this is a sudden unexpected incident he carries to much speed entering the turn, which makes him drift some towards the recovered Psuedo. Andy's rear slides into Psuedo's front, which pushes Psuedo out into the sand trap.

Initially this was caused by Psuedo's missed braking, and from what I can see Andy is turning as much as possible. Therefore I conclude that this can only be called a racing incident. No penalty.

That was a tough old fight from start to finish, had some great battles along the way particularly with those TS rascals DG and Shark

I was really looking forward to tonight as had been pumping in constant 1:24.4 laptimes in my offline praccy. However i was worried what the frame-rates would be as despite my fairly monster rig i had to leave online praccy last night with only 7 cars on track as had bad stutters and poor frames.
So for the first time i reduced all detail levels and turned off animations to help but it was still quite bad for first few laps of race and at intermittent parts of track through all sessions.  :'(
Cost me about 0.5-1 second in lap times and could not even break into 24's tonight  Sad

Could have kicked my own ass on first flying lap when i ran wide at becketts with a bit of stutter and cold tyres and immediately dropped from 7th to about 12th ?
Then had a tough old fight with the TS pairing for most of race, eventually getting past both after hard duels in the slippery conditions.
Simon made it very tough for me in last few laps with my front left tyre on 24 wear Shocked and was throwing everything at me to get by, with the porkers exit traction saving me more than once.

Good team result overall with Legends in 5th,6th and 7th  Cool but was personally gutted as had thought i could have grabbed a top 5 tonight with my qual and race pace i had in offline sessions.  :'(

The scarey thing is that Jeff has just tried my Vertigo setup and went faster than his Morgan time with it. Shocked Shocked Wasn't convinced about it being a great setup, but it seemed to do me ok for the race so if anyone wants it I'm happy to share as these more unusual cars are particularly hard to setup I find.

Ooops sorry Stew. It was a fezza that let me bye for lapping and then proceeded to brake way to late and slide past my outside at next corner. Only bit of excitement I had in whole race Smiley.

Said it before, but those being lapped were especially helpfull last night. More importantly they were very predictable and in control  angel

In S5 me and Pops ran a race best of 1:52.9, so somewhere in the low 1:53's?

Here you go.

SG - Silverstone (Int) - 20% RAIN - 1:25.6 in the race.

Sorry didn't try the Vertigo on the GP circuit so don't know about times. You might need to reduce the wing by one notch and increase gearing by one notch for the GP circuit. It's very much setup for the conditions. Normally I have a lot more stiffness in the rear of the Vertigo for the dry so it can corner even better.

I thought that was a brilliant race, a good few battles, I'm assuming ossie had tyre issues as he was all over the place after a few laps! I decided to let a couple of you faster guys through rather than you taking us both out trying to get past Tongue.

The last couple of laps I had my heart in my mouth a few times, especially the last corner, worth a watch on the replay if you want a laugh! Paul had a go up the inside but due to my crappy right view angle (I must change it) I couldn't tell whether he was along side or not so I went wide and ended up on the grass and started spinning as I was going over the line! I think it was 0.018secs between us in the end!

Still have no idea where you guys can find 3secs on that track in those conditions though, I couldn't brake very hard at all without loosing the back end, don't know if setup changes made a big difference to that?

A lot depends on tyres, but if your car snaps under braking move brake bias forward, also stiffening the front helps to cope with weighttransfers. All this is not of any use in the Morgan, that's just a matter of throwing it around and thing you're playing Richard Burns Rally Tongue

I did actually try stiffening the front sus and lowering it slightly and I thought it was a little better but wasn't sure if it was my imagination. I always find it's difficult to get the right logic when it comes to car setup - I though changing brake bias to front might have opposite effect for the same reason as the sus stiffening works.

Don't forget to also increase ride height to prevent aquaplaining.

When you lock up the fronts under braking, you understeer. Locking the rear makes the rear break out. So if the rear is unstable under braking move the bias forwards. Also increasing coast might work for braking IIRC.

These first two races havent gone well at all!

I was all set to join on the dot last night and realised i'd forgotten the password. I couldnt logon to the website on the PC as i couldnt remember my password so had rush downstairs and start up the laptop that i normaly use to read the forum so i can see the password. Ended up losing most of the first practise session. I'd been practising with inters on but they take a few laps to get going so I switched to wets for qualifying as they gave more grip straight away but for some reason decide to stay on them for the race Shocked never seen tire temps that high before! But there was some close racing at the back which was good, but the Vert now seems as quich as anything else
So twice now i've changed tyres when i shouldnt have!
Maybe i can salvage a half decent race on the upper enduro...
