Moderator's Report

Server replay time: 1790s

Darren is followed by Aagramn approaching the last left hander. Darren takes this turn a bit slower than usual (his own words) and Aagramn which was close behind (not too close) didn't expect this and touched his rear. Darren then gets loose and looses more speed which in turn makes Aagramn touch his rear agin, sealing his destiny to go to the sand.

The car behind is responsible to avoid these situations even when the car in front slows more than usual. Darren did not brake hard either, so Aagramn should be able to avoid. I think Aagramn just didn't expect him to slow that much, but should've slowed down to avoid the second impact when he saw Darren lost control.

This was clearly avoidable, but since only one place was lost, or maybe two if he'd continued, and not much other damage I'll give a 1 place penalty for this incident.

  • Aagramnpenalty — Avoidable rear ending — 1 place lost
For advice only - unreported by victim, so penalty disregarded

Do you use Motec a lot Simon?

Nope, never. Don't even know how to run it. Looks far too complicated for my pitiful brain to understand any of it.  Smiley

Was on pole when game crasht, then when I wanted to get back Roadrunner took my spot.

If somebody gives up after a few laps I'll be more pissed off.

Well I couldn't get even start lap 1 JR :'( Finally got a half decent quali lap for 3rd on grid and then when I tried to join race I sank through tarmac and my position was -1. Should have guessed something was up as timing was all to cock during quali.

First buggy GTR2 moment but still a kick in the teeth nonetheless :'(

edit-that makes two of us, no chance of a re-run?  Wink

Unfortunately I found that dull. F360 Modena really didn't work for me. Had TT and Adam in their 911s around me near the start, but I was unable to fight with them and when they both outbroke me on the outside and drove round the outside of me there was no point in fighting back so I just let them go without a struggle and sat in no mans land.

Then Pops had an incident and rejoined about 7 seconds behind me and didn't take too long to catch me, but even that wasn't fun. Sorry Pops, but I didn't have to defend at all, I just drove normally, completely within myself as there was no point in pushing. Your Vertigo didn't have enough straight line speed to even make an attempted pass, which was a shame for you as you were way quicker than me. I could drive so slowly round the corners, make sure my exit was anything from ok to good and still be safe that you wouldn't stand a chance come braking as you'd be too far behind to do anything without a do or die manoeuvre (which I know isn't really your style). Man that Vertigo sucks for racing, you were 1.5 seconds or more faster than me per lap, but it was really sucky for you to be so far behind come the end of the straights. Must admit if you had gone for it I would have just let you go as you were a lot quicker and I didn't have it in me to fight.

Sorry to hear about all the discos and falling through floors problems. Dunno whether that is a problem with running 32 slots or not.

Sorry to see a few guys disco or have bugs.         Was a very strange race for me. Started 4th after the drop outs. Tried my best to keep with Paul but he was slightly too quick. Mark was attempting to hold me but likewise I was slightly quicker than him. Basically ended up racing with myself although cars were not far spread out.             Nice win Dan. Very well driven

well chuffed with that!! Grin   Went qiucker in qualli than i thought i would but got pipped to third by sbg .  Managed to get passed paul after he went wide at the first corner and pulled enough gap to be able just to concentrate on the the track.   Was lapping the same as Zacari for the next 8 laps ..unluckily for him Zacari made a mistake coming out of turn 2 and i got through.
Kept consistant until the end but was suprised Paul or Zacari didnt get any closer as  my rear tires were shot at the end.
Cheers all

Really fun race that in the end.  Qually was the nightmare I thought it might be ... I was quicker in the race I think.  Still, started at 15th, so I still had a chance of a top-10 finish.

Due to a few problems other drivers were having I was closer to that single digit finish before I hit the throttle.  The first few laps saw me pull away from Darren's Morgan, and with Shark and TT infront of me I had to get up to speed quickly ... and thankfully I did.  When we had a Mosler spin out (Madd?) I caught up with TT big time, and a couple of laps later I got right under his bumper and half outbraked him, and half got let by ( cheers TT Wink ).

Then it was time for a spot of Shark hunting.  Gradually reeled him in, and then did him on the brakes, with TT sneaking through as well I think.

I banged in my fastest lap about halfway through the race .... and then my tyres seemed to let go in a big way for a few laps, and TT got by and got a few seconds gap and I was all but ready to sit there till the finish.  I'm guessing TT's tyres had taken a beating too, and once more I reeled him in, blitzing by (no letting me through this time!) after getting a wicked exit to the uphil chicane.  After getting the flashed lights from TT I thought he might be backing off, and that was pretty much that for the race.

I made a dent in the gap to Backo, but my tyres couldn't keep going with that level of punishment, so I had to settle for 9th.

Still, well happy with that result, some hard racing there.  Really good fun.

Very frustrating in the end Sad

Got pole before JR got disco'd, was taking it pretty easy in the race when the seq. shifter pushed down into Turn 2 and 1st gear kicked the back round too far to recover, went from 1st to 3rd.  After that was behind Paul and destroyed my tyres trying to get passed, when I inherited 2nd after he spun I could only close a couple of seconds in the last 4 laps.

The more I run NGT the more I'm tempted to forget the shifter and use the paddle shift, it's the only part of the G25 that's worse than the DFP Sad

It was also really frustrating to see JR get disco'd, I was looking forward to that.  I think the 2 or 3 cars directly behind  me on the grid didn't make it which was also annoying, as was people giving up after 3 or 4 laps into a 20 lap race.  Even if you spin, as I did, you can still make places up, etc.  If you're just gonna leave, especially when it's a full server, then leave before the end of quali so others can race! well that lived upto the corking battle royale i expected...amazing qually and race session from start to finish !  Cool

Qually fight was great with many drivers trading top 10 times and i eventually got it together to put a 2:01 in and grab 7th, albeit 1.7secs slower than my PB Huh How comes the track temp was so high tonight?..surely its not that warm in Slovenia at the moment? I was literally tearing up my rears after 1 outlap and one flyer ! and yet offline i could put 2-3 flyers before the tyres overheated.

Knew the race was going to be a real fight with Brian Kerr in front of me and Baracus and Mark Mclean right behind me, and thats exactly how it turned out! Was sorry to see Ginsters Disco on the line  Sad

From lap 1 the fight was a pure Morgan v Porker v Ferrari battle, awesome stuff. I managed to keep within 1-2 secs of Brian and the top 3 for about 25 minutes, at the same time fending off vigorous attacks from Baras Fezza. Then Bara dropped back in a fight with Mark Mc for a while and it was my turn to fight off a charging Mark Mc in his infamous Black West Porsche. It was a case of deja vu as i remember another memorable fight with him in that same car at this track a while back
It was an awesome fight with him pressuring me all over the track. About the only corners i was quicker were t1 and 3.
I fended him off for about 15minutes whilst my tyres got worse and worse. I was itching for him to drop back as whenever he did, i was able to close the gap back up on the front 5. But, i finally got taken by Mark Mc with about 4 minutes remaining when i just got a little wide under braking and he was able to get up the inside, which was gutting Sad. But worse on the very next lap when i was attempting to get back past him up the inside at T1, he got a little loose, moved in a bit and i had to ease off the throttle right where i normally floor it and the sneaky re-emergent Baracus sped by me on the outside and we ended up with all 3 of us going hell for leather down to T2's hard braking zone  Shocked
Alas, they had both mugged me with minutes to spare, but i doth my cap to the pair of them and their superb driving I Am Not Worthy
I had run 5th the entire race upto that point and also had kept mostly within 2-5 secs of Kerr and top 3 for whole race
The fights with Bara and Mark Mc were just amazing, best pure action race ive had for a while. thumbup1 By race end my wrists were aching where i was gripping the wheel so tightly and i was soaked in sweat from the effort sweatdrop

My tyres were pretty shot by the time they both got me and i just had two laps to bring it home for another 7th place. Feel a bit robbed though, i shouldnt have conceded so late but they are two great drivers and i had used up all my guile trying to keep them at bay.

A corker ! euro

Well that was my first on line race. Had fun although I span off and damaged my car badly, so I decided to pit. Came out a lap down. Hope I did'nt scare any of you front runners on my pit exit? If I did I am sorry.
Anyway had fun at the beginning dicing with a 360 until the spin.

Now I need to get a good set up. Anyone help me out for a porsche?

Way hey....I managed to finish a race at last this season.  Smiley

I enjoyed that one, shame about the disco's etc  Sad

First half of race was quite steady, holding a gap of about 2 secs to Darren's Morgan in front untill around lap 9 or 10 Darren seemed to be struggling a bit and I closed right up with the recovering Madd all over my Aris like a rash. Daz's tyres must have been giving him probs though and I was taken a little by supprise at how slowly he was going round the final chicane and had to tickle my brakes to avoid tailending him...with the inevitable spin in the Modena as a result  Roll Eyes
That lost me four places and started chasing the 7 second gap...with Stewprovo never more than a sec behind. Passed Darren in the kitty litter a few laps later and could just make out the distant form of Aagramn's mossler ahead.
pushed as much as possible and managed to close up with about 4 laps to go...but the 360 just cannot compete down the straights with the Mossler and my rubber was getting pretty shot by then, so not much hope of passing. Made one semi-attempt but put the power down a little too early and made like a lawnmower for a couple of hundred yards before managing to ease it back onto the black stuff.

Enjoyed the race though....nice track this one.

Grats to the podium and Dan on his win.
