Moderator's Report

Server replay time: 495s

Ade runs wide onto the grass, but keeps his car under control. He has little option but to rejoin, as he is running out of run off space. Psuedo spots him a bit late, and takes evasve action. He then spots Truetom on the other side of him, tries to move back to the right, loses control and hits Ade, spinning out. No driver was at fault for the contact.

  • Racing incident

Server replay time: 655s

JPV brakes too late and bumps Prof, spinning him around. JPV admitted responsibility for the incident and took a drive through, so I'm redusing this to a zero place penalty.

  • jpv (JPV)penalty — Rear-end contact. — 0 places lost

I should have had 4th or 5th place in this one, but threw it away with my own mistakes. Still 6th from 9th is ok I guess after my short lived Silverstone experience.

Had some battles along the way, probably most with H@L9000. Clean stuff, thanks.

I must give the award for "best job at putting the guy in front off" to Zacari though as he did a stellar job at making me lose sight of the braking marker as he weaved spectacularly around behind me when trying to get by down the main straight. Nicely done, exactly how I normally like to stun those Legends off into the gravel. Grin If only that were the only time I screwed up I would have had 5th, but alas it wasn't my night as I let SBG get by after another mistake and then had to fend off H@9000 a few times after more silly mistakes.

All I can say is thank god it didn't rain for the race cause no matter what I did to the car in qually/practice I couldn't get round a lap in the rain without spinning. If it had been raining at the start I would have quit so that I didn't crash into anyone. The last time I was that unable to drive a car was, well I can't remember ever having that much trouble! Shocked

Had to run medium front and hard rears the temperatures were so bad here too. Wear was not a problem on that combo though. I had used about 16/17 wear on my right rear (the worst worn) come the half time pit stop so I still had plenty of grip. Had no problems with the engine. Started at 97% and finished at 93% after revving the nuts off it in the second half of the race. Full 5 vent but no rev drop in the setup. Oil/water temps never got about 91. Most of the time around 83 degrees.

Aah yes, worked a little too well that did!  I was hoping for you to just run wide, I'd tried the lap before to get past on the outside and I couldn't make it stick, side-by-side through the Senna S was pretty cool Cool I think my engine health dropped 1% every lap I tried getting past it was overheating so much!

My report:

Nice weather combo, but it seems this game still prefers sun, or is it the server setting. Would be nice with a light shower in the middle of the race or something.

Started with soft slicks, which worked nicely, but had to pit early due to wear. Then I chose mediums at the rear and soft at the front (bad decision) because I wasn't sure if the damp condition would stay or go, and it went away. With a hot dry track I had to make a second stop.

Was nice to finally try to pass someone. And I had Prof in sight and even closed a bit before I had to make my final stop. Drove second to last after that, with one driver 40 sec behind and one 40 sec in front, so that was not too fun. Still 'half' the skill is to finish, and I did.

One point, can the results export be corrected?  It's showing me starting in 5th when I was dq'd and started at the back.  Thanks Smiley

I've set your starting position to 28th - you can see it in the tooltip over the qualifying position.

Forgot to post on this!

Started off perfectly and pulled a few seconds in the first few laps, and then struggled to stretch it further once it hit about 6 seconds. Eventually managed to get it up to 12 seconds before making a silly mistake behind Adam and spun off backwards onto the grass, losing me 10 seconds  :'(

Got back on it and pushed to try to get the gap up a bit more, and saw everyone had pitted already. Stayed out for a few laps and then pitted myself - and once again overfilled at the stop  Roll Eyes  Ended the race with just under 20l left  cursing

Exited the pits and was neck and neck with Brian and he got past with his hot tyres, then we just went hammer and tongs until the end of the race. Some great defending and some good exit speed made it real difficult to close up enough on the straight, and tried to go round the outside into T1 a couple of times. It seemed to be the only place I was actually faster.

Shame you had to back off, Carl had trouble too but his was self-induced Wink

Real good, close racing peeps. Roll on (ughhh) Dubai!  Tongue
