Moderator's Report

Server replay time: 183s

As Muorali comes up to the final chicane to lead the field to the rolling start, he uses too much of the first, right hand curb, clips one of the solid bollards and spins. As he does so he dislodges one of the bollards on the second, left hand curb and deposits it on the track.

TrueTom has to take over leading the pack but goes far too early.

Behind, Mark Harrison runs into the "invisible" bollard (it's clearly visible on the replay, although I don't know under what conditions it would've been visible to drivers during the event) and comes to an abrupt halt, collecting Paul968 who is right behind and causing a fair bit more chaos and confusion in the ranks.

Obviously the invisible bollards are a well documented problem and there's not a lot we can do about them.

  • Muoraliadvice — stay off the curbs on the pace lap
  • Truetom (truetom)caution — premature acceleration on the pace lap

Server replay time: 235s

Rik Foster has lost it under braking into Adelaide. He spin turns to the outside, away from oncoming traffic. Rik starts to move off again but hasn't moved more than a few feet when Colin P, who has missed the apex, clips the front of him. Neither car is seriously inconvenienced but it does cause some confusion in the ranks.

Server replay time: 243s

During the previous incident with Rik and Colin, Paul968 has outbraked himself and trundled round the outside of Rik.

In the confusion Mike Wrightson winds up alongside Paul968; neither can see each other and Mike moves across, making contact with Paul and spinning off.

  • Racing incident

Server replay time: 287s

Shark and Muorali and in close proximity coming out of Chateau d'Eau, and the former stays wide through the kink - too wide, in fact, and he runs onto the grass, sailing down out of control towards Lycee, narrowly missing TrueTom before hitting the tyres.

Server replay time: 1468s

Fozz is coming round to lap Gerald in the Toledo; Shark laps both, flying through the middle into Grande Courbe. Fozz turns in, thinking he has cleared Gerald, but he hasn't and there is light contact.

  • Racing incident

Server replay time: 1892s

Shark is lapping Rik Foster, who applies too much throttle as he accelerates down the start straight and spins, collecting Shark.

Shark spin turns but then pushes Rik out of the way to get going again. This is rather silly as he could easily have done additional aero damage to his front end.

  • Simon Gymer (Shark)caution — drive round other cars not through them, even after a collision

90 mins is more like an endurance race, it gets my vote, but since we have started at 60mins, we should not change the race length until season 2.

The race distances will not change for Season 1. End of story. Move along please, nothing more to see here.

Shark - do the cars really aquaplane? Because i'm pretty sure they don't, and i've heard from good sources they just don't in the game.....

I don't think that anyone can actually answer that because we'd need to know how the wet weather tyre model is written etc.
There are certainly moments where you can get light steering and loss of traction even on straight bits of track. To me that feels like aquaplanning but it's hard to tell as it's just a game.  Undecided

Hi Guys what an event had a go with the seat to make no's up . It was very doggy when the turbo lit up. ok for a few laps but lost it after the straight hit the barrier and ripped a wheel off . better luck next time?.  PS when I did this for real the tyres did heat up as they used to steam when we stopped unless it was a downpour. bye for now gerald  Smiley

Paul968 seems to be the only person who can make the Seat work.

If I remember correctly this race it was pouring down all the time m8, so perhaps the reason for alot of people having problems getting the tyres to heat up. Have to agree with Shark though that it's not that important in the extremely wet.
