Moderator's Report

Lap1, Eau Rouge, Graham Byford, Ken Murray, Kevin Clark, Karl Doyle, Graham Houghton, Tim Whiting, Rik Foster and more.

Graham Byford gets a good start and attempts a pass on the left into Eau Rouge. Ken Murray takes a steady line through and would not have known Graham had pulled alongside. Contact is made causing a massive pile up.

Graham's pass has to be called risky and ambitious. On a first lap this carries a three place penalty. I reduce the penalty due to the tight grid and he always keeps good control.

  • Graham Byfordpenalty — Ambitious overtake — 2 places lost

Lap1, Masta, Neil Stratton and Simon Gymer.

Neil passes Simon approaching Masta. Neil slides wide on cold tyres and hits arnco and spins. Simon has no chance and collides.

Verdict - Racing incident.

Lap1, Stavelot, Graham Byford and Dave Gymer.

Graham is following Dave through Stavelot when he is lost by the server and then gets plonked back close on the inside of Dave. Graham tries to give more room but they crash. Poor Dave had been shown lots of luck to get through Eau Rouge, but that luck ran out here.

Verdict - Internet racing incident

Lap2, Les Combes, Rob Blandford and Tim Whiting.

Rob gets a good exit out of Eau Rouge and pulls alongside on the left of Tim going towards Les Combes. Both drivers keep a nice line, but Rob gets a warp contact and sent off the track. Rob could have left a little more room and possibly saved the contact. Rob was the only one affected and no blame is being put his way, it was a good passing attempt.

Verdict - Internet racing incident

Lap2, Malmedy, Kevin Clark and Tim Whiting

Tim spins at Malmedy and is slow going down to Masta. Rob Blandford passes with Kevin in his slipstream. Tim allows Rob to pass and moves into his slipstream. Kevin shows great awareness and swerves onto the grass scrubbing of speed to avoid the crash. Tim would not have known Kevin was there with the one behind problem.

Verdict - Internet racing incident

Lap4, Blanchimont, Graham Byford and Graham Houghton.

Graham Byford loses it and spins collecting Graham Houghton. Graham was a passenger when the collision takes place.

Verdict - Racing incident

Lap6, Masta, Tim Whiting and Graham Houghton.

Tim loses it at Masta and collects Graham.

Verdict - Racing incident.

lap 9, Stavelot, Ronnie Whittle.

Ronnie Whittle took a Shift R at Stavelot and tries a Schummi style Stop and Go after the finishing line, hehe. You do not get away with that one :o)

Verdict - Ronnie Whittle has 12 seconds (reduced from the normal 15) to be added to his finishing position. That still puts him in the same finishing position of 4th.

Moderator's Report

Lap13, Scierie, Tim Whiting and Rob Blandford

Tim, recovering from above incident, feeds back onto the track and gets hit by Rob. Tim would not have known Rob was coming as he never shows in Tim's mirrors. I could give this either way and I believe this incident should have been avoided. I would put more blame on Rob as he could clearly see Tim and should have predicted Tim's rejoin, allowing more room. As it was Rob gets the worst of it turning upside down and retires.

Verdict - racing incident

Lap14, Scierie, Ralph Maiph and Neil Stratton.

Neil Stratton moves to the right and outbrakes Ralph into Scierie. Ralph loses control at turn in and moves towards Neil. They touch with Neil holding a nice tight line and Ralph with wheels turned away from Neil. Ralph spins.

Verdict - racing incident.

Lap16, Nouveax Monde, Simon Gymer and Karl Doyle.

Simon tries to take the hairpin too fast and slides wide into tyres finding it hard to extract himself. Karl arrives at Nouveax Monde and also slides wide hitting Simon. Karl should have taken more care approaching a yellow waved flag.

  • Karl Doylewarning — Lack of caution approaching an incident

Lap1, Turn1, Mark Harrison, Rob Blandford and Neil Stratton.

Flag drops and Rob bogs down slightly with Neil on his left and Mark keeping right and taking the lead. Rob recovers and moves alongside Neil and Mark is now barely a cars length in front. Mark moves across to take the racing line for turn one and clips Rob's front wheel, sending him off and collecting Neil. Easy with hindsight to see what should have been done, Rob should have held back once he was slow off the start and then followed Neil through turn one. Mark would not have known Rob was there till too late, even though he should not have moved so far left for turn one. Neil is the real loser, he saw no-one and kept well left and out of trouble, till trouble found him. I am putting this down to a tight grid problem.

Verdict - racing incident

Lap1, Nouveax Monde, Tim Whiting, Simon Gymer.

Simon brakes a little early for the hairpin to be safe for the 1st lap, Tim brakes slightly later and cannot avoid Simon. Tim is at fault here and accepts that by taking a stop and go. I give a reduced penalty for this due to Tim taking the stop and go.

Lap1, Scierie, Graham Houghton, Rob Blandford, Ronnie Whittle and Neil Stratton.

Dave Gymer gets a good tow from Graham who also gets a good tow from Rob going towards Scierie. Dave moves first and Graham has to lift. Dave gets a clear run into Scierie with Rob staying well left and Graham tries to follow Dave through Scierie thinking Rob is letting him go. Rob shuts the door and collides with Graham. Ronnie and Neil get caught out in the mess. Looking from Rob's view in cockpit shows it would have been hard for him to see Graham with the one behind problem. I consider this an ambitious overtake by Graham. I reduce his penalty due to his care and awareness of Dave's passing attempt that had some affect on the incident. Graham also lost many places for the contact and was alongside Rob on contact.

Lap8, Nouveax Monde, Tim Whiting, Ronnie Whittle

Tim loses it braking towards the hairpin, spinning in front of Ronnie. Ronnie tries to avoid Tim but also loses it and beaches on the tyres and gives up.

Verdict - racing incident

Lap8, Nouveax Monde, Rik Foster, Kevin Clark and Graham Houghton

Rik loses it going into Nouveax Monde, hits the tyres and has to reverse, pulls away and cuts across the track making Kevin brake and Graham rams Kevin. I reduce the penalty for the bad rejoin due to Rik not being able to see anyone in his mirrors. Also Rik realises his mistake and pulls over to let them go, loses it and has to Shift R and takes a Stop and Go.

lap 11, Pits, Ralph Maiph.

Ralph Maiph enters pits for a stop and go, but he does not come to a complete halt. He saved an approximate one second by doing this.

Lap13, Scierie, Karl Doyle and Ken Murray.

Karl makes a nice outbraking move on Ken into Scierie. Ken seems to not know Karl is there and moves across too tight and receives a warp hit. Karl is not affected and so no action is required.

Verdict - racing incident

Lap13, Scierie, Tim Whiting and Neil Stratton

Tim is being followed closely by Ralph and Neil towards Scierie. Ralph makes a pass with Neil in his slipstream. Neil brakes a little early and Tim far left gets a clear distance on turn in but Neil moves alongside and Tim's rear tyre hits Neil's front. Tim would not have known Neil was there as Neil is never in Tim's mirrors due to the one behind problem. Neil should have allowed Tim to have the bend. I reduce the penalty due to Neil always keeping good control and I believe he falls into the same trap as Graham did earlier on lap1.

  • Glynpenalty — Overly ambitious overtake — 1 place lost

Moderator's Report

I have ignored the start and T1, due to the very tight grid problem.

Lap7, Club, Dave Gymer and Tim Whiting.

Tim attempts a late braking move into Club and Dave takes the racing line making contact with Tim, Dave comes off worse being sent off the track. Tim's move was a little adventurous, but looks like he would have made it and may have been alongside by turn in, close call?. Dave should have left room but with the very late move by Tim? I feel I must hold both drivers responsible and give them each a warning.

Lap11, Stowe, Karl Doyle and Tim Whiting.

Karl attempts to late brake into Stowe and drifts out into Tim, Karl waits for Tim to take his position. Penalty is reduced to take into account the gentleman gesture.

  • Karl Doylepenalty — ambitious overtake — 0 places lost

Lap13, Graham Byford

For quite a few corners Graham Houghton was trying to make a pass and was squeezed once. Also twice Graham Byford drove down the center of the track. When a position is being contested you must commit to one side of the track. I have reduced the penalty due to it was not all out blocking.

Lap14, Copse, Graham Houghton and Graham Byford.

Graham Houghton rear-ends Graham Byford. Penalty is reduced due to the frustration element.

Lap19, Becketts, Kevin Clark and Simon Gymer.

Two Eagles had a good challenge going for 4th place. Kevin leaves his braking to late, realizes it and tries to throw his car off the track to miss Simon. Simon gets a tap and is sent into a spin. Penalty is reduced due to Kevin trying to miss Simon and losing control.

  • Kevin Clarkpenalty — ambitious overtake — 1 place lost

Lap18, Club, Tim Whiting and Dave Gymer.

Tim brakes very late and wipes out Dave Gymer going into Club. Tim waits for Dave to rejoin, and also takes a stop and go.

Lap1, T1, Ken Murray

Ken receives a warp tap.

Verdict - internet racing incident

Lap1, 01:58, Raiph Maiph, Rik Foster, Dave Randall, Ronnie Whittle, Ken Murray.

Raiph is very slow and Rik runs into him, this triggers a pile up with the rest of the named drivers. Rik has to be held at fault. The penalty is greatly reduced due to the nature of the track and Raiph being in the middle of the track giving Rik problems to save the situation.

Lap1, 08:27, Ronnie Whittle and Raiph Maiph.

Ronnie was looking to pass for quite a while, went for a half chance, but Ralph receives a warp tap. Ronnie retires the Cooper.

Verdict - internet racing incident.

Lap2, 13:52, Ken Murray and Graham Houghton.

Ken goes for a pass, grabbing too much grass in trying to keep well away from Graham he slides back onto the track tapping him, sending Graham into a spin. The attempt of a pass was good but poorly executed. Ken's slide was out of his control and the incident was caused by Ken trying to keep well away from contact.

Verdict - racing incident.

Moderator's Report

Lap2, Moss, Neil Stratton, Ken Doyle, Graham Houghton and Mike Wrightson.

Neil loses the back end and spins, causing a multi-car pile up. I have gone through with all drivers and only a couple of points to state. Graham Houghton grabs too much inside track and clips Neil sending him into another spin. Mike Wrightson should have slowed more, nearly passed Graham under waved yellows and could have avoided giving Neil another tap.

Verdict - racing incident.

Lap4, Moss, Ronnie Whittle and Simon Gymer.

Ronnie uncharacteristically gets it all wrong and runs into the back of Simon Gymer.

Lap4, Moss, Simon Gymer, Rik Foster and Mike Wrightson.

Previous accident sparks off a multi car pile up. Mike again goes into moss under yellow flag carrying too much speed, tips the scales and I give a warning. Also Rik Foster recovering from the incident runs across the track and collects Simon Gymer. When recovering from one side of the track, stay on that side till you are up to race speed. I believe Rik could have stayed on the right, this would have saved Simon once again being hit off the track.

Lap16, T3, Raiph Maiph and Neil Stratton

Neil has been following Raiph for some time and attempts a pass on the inside of T3. Neil snatches the brakes and he loses control, spinning and collecting Raiph.

Verdict - racing incident

Moderator's Report

David Randall did a Shift R (lap17) but took no S&G.

  • Dave Randall — Failing to Stop and Go — 15.000 seconds added

L10, T1, David Randall

David overtakes Rob Blandford whilst running on the armco. I reduce the penalty as it is clear to see it was not intended, but David should have slowed more so as not to gain an advantage.

Moderator's Report

Lap 13, Loop, Ken Murray and Kevin Clark.

Kevin gets a good tow out of the Esses and takes the inside line into the Loop. Kevin loses a little control and drifts outward but still keeps close to the inside. Ken cuts across squeezing Kevin and Ken gets a tap. Ken is at fault for not leaving enough room but loses so much from this incident I reduce the penalty.

Moderator's Report

Lap1, T1, Neil Stratton, Karl Doyle and Dave Gymer

Neil loses it going into Turn 1, Karl and Dave lose it trying to take evasive action. Neil and Dave take a Shift R but only Dave that I would have allowed a no fault takes a Stop and Go. I have added 15 seconds onto Neil's time and he still held onto his finishing position.

Verdict - racing incident

  • Glyn — Failing to Stop and Go — 15.000 seconds added

Lap5, T1, Raiph Maiph and Simon Gymer.

Raiph loses it going into Turn 1 and collects Simon.

Verdict - racing incident

Lap7, last turn, Rik Foster and Rob Blandford.

Rik takes a wide line going into the last turn and Rob attempts to pass on the inside, but slides wide and into Rik.

  • Rob Blandfordpenalty — side by side contact — 2 places lost

On lap 16 we had a mass disco and so, with agreement from the drivers, finishing positions have been taken from the end of lap 15.
