Moderator's Report

Lap 1 Start: Glen Field moves across the track, (right to left) to take racing line and tangles with Steve Alton who had pulled along side at the start; as Glen could have seen him with a look left, and as this was the start of the race, Glen should have remained on the right hand side, and not tried to tuck in behind the 2nd place guy.

Steve Alton pulls away you get a better start than Glen Field and pulls along side Glen, as Steve does so he slowly drift rights and the two of them tangle. As Steve knew he was there he should have kept to his side of the track.

(It's important to hold your line at the start of the race with so many cars around you).

Lap 5 (just after Fox hole): as Steve Alton recovers, Phil lee pulls along side, and Steve drifts out right and tangles with Phil and recovers behind, and he could see Phil's Ferrari on his right.

Lap 2 @17:01: after spinning off track Martin Portman waits for one car to pass but spin turns and drives off in front of the next car, Paul Adams, who has nowhere to go and crashes into him.

Moderator's Report

K.Brigden

Lap 3 Turn 2b

After spinning off the track, you end up facing the fence and decide to reverse back onto the track at the exit of the corner.

You had plenty of chances to change your mind and rejoin safely further down the track but didn't, and were very lucky not to hit anyone.

Lap 3 Moss

You carried too much speed into the corner considering there were two other cars infront of you travelling slowly, you run wide at the exit and warp tangle with John Phillips and you both end up crashing out and having to shift-r.

This was the wrong attitude to take considering there were so many cars around you and there was no move on to make, and considering your connection was not that good you should have been more cautious.

Lap 5 Turn 3

You break late into the corner and dive up the inside of Uwe Daniel who tries to leave you room by driving wide into the corner, but a combination of you running slightly wide and a warp meant you hit Uwe off the track. You make the move too late to make safely with your connection, as you were not alongside until Uwe would have been committed to the corner, he did well to leave the room he did.

Lap 9 Turn 3

After spinning off the track, you drive straight back on (at right angles) at the middle of the corner without being able to see if any cars were coming. you then drive straight onto the racing line without being up to racing speed.

Lap 13 Turn 2b

After running off the track you run wide on the grass, and as the car behind you passes you, you drive straight onto the track at the corner exit without being able to see any cars behind you.

Lap 13 Turn 8

Spin off the track and Quit

Due to your lack of caution when rejoining the track and over aggressive driving, and taking into account your poor track record on this matter I must enforce a 20 POINT PENALTY and SUSPENDED RACE BAN on you, if your driving standards do not improve you miss the next race (your banned race shall not count as your drop score).

You were given plenty of warnings and penalties during last season and things have not changed for season 5.

I'm sorry but this sort of driving shall not be tolerated within the UKGPL leagues.

P.Adams, Lap 21 Turn 3

You come across Ian Bassi travelling slowly and when you go to pass him you warp hit his left rear wheel and end up spinning across the track collecting Martin Portman. Please allow more room for cars you are lapping

M. Knopp

Lap 2 Turn 8

After spinning off you drive straight back onto the track at the middle of the corner despite being able to see the other cars coming, as you join you turn across half the track and very nearly take out another car in the process.

WARNING Bad rejoin

Lap 3 Turn 3

Into the breaking area for turn 3 you miss your breaking point completely and end up all over the kerbs on the inside trying to avoid Uwe Daniel in front of you.

Unfortunately you slam into his side and take him out. As this was your mistake you should have taken a stop'n'go 5 POINT PENALTY

Lap 4 Turn 5a

You Break too late for the corner and rear end John Phillips onto his roof while you carry on. 5 POINT PENALTY rear ending

Lap 13 Moss

In front of you Dick Barker runs a little wide into turn 5a and you see half a chance of passing him up his inside into Moss. But as you made the move too late Dick turned in on the racing line and hits your front left wheel spinning him off the track as you continue. As he was committed to the move before you got fully alongside him 5 POINT PENALTY

  • Matt Knopp — Multiple incidents — 10.0 championship point(s)

T. Simpson, Lap 1 Turn 1

You break far too late into the corner not allowing for the usual lap 1 bottlenecks, and end up rear ending Uwe Daniel off the track 5 POINT PENALTY rear ending

  • Tony Simpson — Rear ending Uwe Daniel — 5.0 championship point(s)

G. Field, Lap 6 Turn 5a

You carry allot more speed into the corner than Simon Gymer infront and end up rear ending him, as you had been following him for two laps previously you should have anticipated and braked earlier to avoid hitting him. 5 POINT PENALTY rear ending

  • Glen Field — Rear ending Simon Gymer — 5.0 championship point(s)

S. Whyte, Lap 7 Moss

After spinning off the track at the hairpin you end up pointing the wrong
way. After waiting for the first car to pass you then immediately pull onto the track as Dick Barker enters the corner and very nearly hit him, Dick does well to avoid you.

Moderator's Report

Lap 1 Start: Steve Campbell

You get a better start than the car infront and go to pass him on the right hand side, but as the track narrows you still cant see him in your mirrors (in fact he's still along side you in your 'look left') and you decide to move across in front of him anyway, and he has to lift a little to avoid contact.

You were very lucky not to touch, if you had you would have taken out half the field, please be more careful in the future.

I. Bassi, Lap 5 Ascari

As you drive past John Phillips (on your right) you start to drift right across the track into him and end up taking both of you out. John was as far to the right as he could get. This seemed a very strange thing to do considering you were coming into a left hander and should have already been turning left, and you could still see John's Honda in your 'look right' view. This incident was completely avoidable on your part.

Moderator's Report

Paul Adams, lap 27 Big Bend

You make a move to lap Ian Bassi on his inside at the right hander but run wide under breaking and tag his rear wheel, Ian gets spun through 360 and continues. Please be careful to hold the tighter line when passing on the inside of another car.

Mark Pickford, Qualifying

You start off by taking the Honda in which you drive most of the session, but near the end you change to the Ferrari, which you take to the race.

The rules state may not change your car choice once you have entered the server. The exception being if you take the wrong car by accident and immediately leave and rejoin with your intended car choice.

Disqualified for changing cars. 3 Tokens lost for original car choice.

Mark Pickford, lap 20 the Loop

After spinning onto the infield at the loop you rejoin the track at the apex of the corner just as an eagle passes you, and then drive straight onto the racing line without being fully up to speed.

It would have been safer to continue a little further on the grass and rejoin at the end of the corner off the racing line.

Moderator's Report

S. Alton, Lap 1 Turn 3

You completely miss your breaking zone and lock up, and end up sliding into Uwe Daniel. As you take a permanent stop'n'go at the end of the lap, this is reduced to a WARNING.

S. Campbell Lap 2 Turn 6/7

You spin at the chicane after the hairpin and end up pointing the wrong way. You spin turn in the middle of the track (after the car behind you has passed) and pull away slowly on the racing line.

It would have been better to reverse off line/track quickly then sort your self out before rejoining.

S. Campbell Lap 10 Turn 3

You attempt to pass Ian Bassi but outbrake yourself and (out of control) you tag Ian's car with a bad warp and spin him 360 degrees, you wait well.

I. Bassi Lap 1 Turn 4

After being spun round and facing the wrong way you immediately spin turn (in front of an oncoming car) in the middle of the track. You were very lucky to get away with this... strong WARNING.

M. Pickford Lap 1 Start

You get a better start than Dick Barker in front and try to squeeze between him and the barriers (this is never a good idea) and as he slides right under power you end up taking him out.

  • Mark Pickford — Contact with Dick Barker — 6.0 championship point(s)

M. Pickford Lap 1 Turn 4

You are a little to eager to Shift - r and end up taking Gavin Reid out. It's always best to leave the shift - r until you are completely sure the track is clear (especially at the start of a race when everyone is bunched up), even if this means waiting for all the other cars to clear the area.

Moderator's Report

D. Del, Lap 1 Turn 4 (hairpin)

After being tapped wide you get on the power too hard and spin across the track. Thankfully nobody gets hit and all cars manage to pass you cleanly, but you take a stop 'n' go just in case ;o)

S. Alton, Lap 1 Turn 4 (hairpin)

You break deeper into the corner than Del infront and it looks like you break enough to avoid contact, but at the end you ease off the breaks and tag Del's rear tyre and nudge him wide. Stop ' n' go taken, no penalty.

S. Alton, Lap 17 Turn 4 (hairpin)

This is a copy of the lap 1 incident, this time tagging Gavin's rear tyre. You wait well.

M. Pickford, Lap 1 Turn 2

You completely miss your breaking point and fly through the middle of the leading bunch, you were soooooooooo lucky not to hit anyone.

P. Lee, Lap 1 Turn 4 (hairpin)

You miss your breaking point and skate across the grass on the out side of the track to be collected by the bails at the hairpin.
