Lap 1, T2: Colliss Coll vs Luci Wong - 2 Place penalty to Colliss (6 Points)
Classic rear end shunt with no mitigating circumstances. Collis is following too close to Luci down the straight. Initially he drives to the left but cuts in before the braking point. Luci was driving carefully on cold tyres and Colliss left his braking too late. Luci is punted spectacularly over Jakob's Honda and onto the bank. Other cars were also involved.
Colliss then waits behind for Luci to restart, she Shift-R's and they continue.
On the second corner of an 870 corner race there is no good reason to be driving up someone's gearbox.
In this situation it is probably better to wait in front because (a) the victim might not be able to reset because GPL will give them 'Track not Clear' messages, (b) the one behind rule won't allow them to see any cars coming and (c) the driver Shift-R'ing is more likely to be able to see you are waiting for them if you're in front. This isn't a criticism of Colliss who did the correct thing, just an observation.
- Colliss Coll — Rear ending Captain Wong — 6.0 championship point(s)
lap 1: Joe Murphy vs Eddie Urbanski - Warning to Joe Murphy
Another classic. Joe simply missed his braking and hit Eddie up the rear.
I've made this a warning because Joe wasn't particularly driving too close, it was a simple driver error and he missed his braking.
Lap 1: Eddie Urbanski vs Jakob Schmidt - 6 Point Penalty to Eddie Urbanski
Eddie was too close down the hill to stop in time and hit Jakob's rear wheel. Jakob recovered to continue.
Eddie was simply driving too close to Jakob down the difficult stretch before the incident. As the cars in front slowed for the corner he had nowhere to go.
- Eddie Urbanski — Contact with Jakob Schmidt — 6.0 championship point(s)
Lap 2: Eddie Urbanski vs Baz West - Stop Go Taken so no penalty
Eddie span just round a blind corner after the start of the downhill section. You know, that twisty bit. ;o)
He waits for one car to go past then immediately turns round by driving across the track. At this point Baz West appears due to the 1 behind rule. He can't avoid hitting him.
This was a very bad rejoin and would have merited a penalty but Eddie took a stop-Go.
Eddie was too quick to drive across the track after the following car had gone past. He should have waited a few seconds to give himself a chance of knowing where the next car was.
