Moderator's Report

Lap 5 - Jonathan Ball(Lotus)

Contact with Alan Wallace at Lesmo1, spins and recovers. Rejoins the racing line before he is back up to speed and nearly collects Karl Doyle.

Contact was mainly due to 1 behind server setting on the night. Jon should have stayed wide but Az was too optimistic with the overtake knowing Jon could not see him very well. Rejoin was not easy in that position but it was unwise to rejoin back onto the racing line before Jon was up to speed.

Lap 5 ? Karl Doyle

Karl does a rather risky run on the outside of J Ball as he precariously recovers from a spin between Lesmo 1 and 2.

Lap 9 - Az Edwards

Az does a Pitstop of just 23 seconds (14:12 to 14:35) instead of the required 35 seconds - 36 seconds (3x shortage) to be added to overall race time.

Az gained a significant advantage by coming back out after his pitstop in front of Malc and by having a clear track ahead for the later sections of the race.

Lap 13 - Rolf Farrell

Rolf rejoins the track at the Parabolica. Risky reversing onto the track mid corning ? no way of telling if there were cars approaching very fast.

  • Rolf Farrellwarning — Dangerous rejoin — also, 1 place lost for penalty points

Lap 19 ? Alan Wallace

Alan gets crossed up coming into the Parabolica. Looses control and collects Ford24v, sending him over the barriers. As Alan bounces off the barriers he also collects Derrick Brocklehurst. Some warp was involved in this incident.

Moderator's Report

Lap 1 T 2 - Paul Smith rear ends Steve Van De Skidz Alton.

Running very close, causes a small tap where both are sent off. Unfortunately this causes Steve to drop to the rear of the field.

  • Paul Smithpenalty — Rear End — 2 places lost

Lap 3 - T5 Rolf Farrel rear ends David Wilkinson

Causes both to spin and that along with a bad rejoin he causes mayhem. As Rolf was in 9th and it was only lap 3, it was obvious there were lots of cars behind and should have waited till all have gone past.

  • Rolf Farrellpenalty — Rear End and Bad Rejoin — 3 places lost (plus 1 for penalty points)

L11 Tom Goodall and Derrick Brocklehurst contact

Verdict : Racing incident

Lap 12 T3 Tom Goodall rear ends Steve Van De Skidz Alton.

There was a big difference in speed as Tom arrived behind Van De Skidz and a touch of warp a little before but Steve did not break early. Reset for Steve that did not require a Stop/Go

  • Tom Goodallpenalty — Rear End — 2 places lost

Lap 16 Derrick Brocklehurst / Karl Doyle - Crash caused by Warp

Verdict : Warp incident

L16 Karl Doyle Contact with Colliss Coll (collection contact) - awkward rejoin but handled very well

Verdict : Racing incident

L20 Tom Goodall contact with Lol Speedfreek - Tom closes in on Lol after a slow exit from the hairpin and there is a very minor touch. Tom is the only one effected and therefore no penalty.

Moderator's Report

Lap 1 - C Coll - Lap 1 (01:30) rear ends Tom Goodall, very late on brakes but does wait for TC to continue. This is normally a 2 place penalty increased to 3 places as it was the first lap but as Colliss did wait for Tom to continue I have reduced this to a single place penalty. Quite obviously caused by Colliss though.

  • Colliss Collpenalty — Rear End — 1 place lost (plus 1 for penalty points)

Lap 2 : Tom Goodall - (02:38) rear ends K Doyle and does not wait. No obvious reason for the accident and no comments from Tom at all. This is a straight 2 place penalty although as Tom finished second from last it works out to be just a single place lost.

  • Tom Goodallpenalty — Rear End — 2 places lost

Last Lap - Graham - Shift-R on last lap. As stated before the race any Pitstops as a result of a Shift-R on the last lap will be taken as an additional 5 seconds after the race and therefore you do not need to do a stop. Not that this effects the finishing order in anyway.

Del also resets.

L3 - Big bend - Chris & Graham

Chris follows Graham into Big bend, Chris oversteers on entry and gets his inside front on the grass and the car starts to slide sideways, Chris is now a passenger. It straightens up and then slides into Graham taking them both out. There was no passing move or bad judgement here, just simple loss of control.

Racing incident

L6 - Esses - Collis & Jon

Jon chases Colliss through the to the Esses, Colliss gets a little close to the right side Armco and has to make a big adjustment, this loses him speed and Jon takes advantage of this to pass on the right side. As Jon makes his pass Colliss is waiting for his car to stop sliding to the outside of the right hander after his adjustment to left when entering the Armco section, eventually it finds some grip and quickly moves back to the right again. But Jon is there trying to pass and they make contact, Colliss goes off and Jon continues.

Racing incident

L30 - The Loop - Nev & Tom

Tom passes Nev on the inside of the The Loop, on the exit of the corner the two cars came closer to each other and a warp pushes Nev's car off the outside.

Warp incident

L31 - 90 - Jon & Del

Jon follows Del to the 90, Del takes a wide approach and turns in for the apex, Jon takes a shorcut to the apex via an inside line and rear ends Del. Del goes off, Jon waits for Del to re-join before he sets off again and also takes a SnG on the next lap. Reduced by 2 for waiting and taking the SnG.

  • Jonathan Ballpenalty — Rear ending Del — 0 places lost (plus 1 for penalty points)

L33 Esses - Malc & Alan

Malc & Alan are side by side through the last 4 turns, very exciting stuff and very safe from both drivers too, nice one :-) But into the left of the Esses Malc's rear end hangs out a little and Alan moves across a little and there's contact between Malc's rear right and Alan's front left, nothing more than that. Alan goes off while Malc continues, Malc takes a voluntary SnG on the last lap and loses the race to Az.

Moderator's Report

Lap 1 - Excellent start from all until T3.

Kevin Clark rear ends K Doyle braking for T4. Karl Doyle does come over in front of Kevin but is only keeping to the racing line and does not brake too early in my opinion. Karl gets spun around and collects Derrick Dell.

  • Kevin Clarkpenalty — Lap 1 rear end — 2 places lost

Lap 5 - Graham 'Ford24v' Houghton gets out of shape in the Esses, Alan Wallace slows and Nev Richards goes for the inside. GPL thinks there is contact although replay does not show this.

Summary : Racing Incident

Lap 6 - Ford24v slides wide, clips the curb and is spun around. Left on the racing line at the apex and gets clip by Dave Wilkinson who can not avoid him. Good avoiding action from Alan Wallace.

Summary : Racing Incident

Lap 10 - Tom Goodall comes into the pitlane far too fast and hits Dave Gymer. Dave is not badly affected by this but it could have been very different.

  • Tom Goodallwarning — Uncontrolled entrance and Contact in Pitlane — also, 1 place lost for penalty points

Lap 11 - Simon Gymer comes in the pits nice and steady but just does not stop in time and rear ends Malc. Also clips Malc on the way out, at this point I was feeling sorry for Malc, just minding his own business with a long Lotus stop time. Although Malc was not affected too much it was careless driving from Simon.

  • Simon Gymerwarning — Contact twice in Pitlane — also, 2 places lost for penalty points

Lap 10 - Malc attempts a pitstop entry, hits the barrier and a nice slide down the pitlane with not enough wheels, does a reset followed by a stop and go the next lap. No problem in this other than he commented to me in his race report that there is no need to mention this so I thought I would !! Nice one Malc :-) .

Summary : Good fun to watch.

Lap 24 - Malc and Simon Gymer head up to the start finish line and GPL thinks they touch although neither the server nor Malc?s replay show any contact. No replay from Simon so I can?t compare his side. Malc makes it to the line just in front but even without the incident he might have. Both had run closer than this multiple times earlier in the lap without problems.

Summary : GPL collision detection error.

Lap 1 Turn 2 Dave Wilkinson and Dave Gymer have slight contact

Summary : Warp

Lap 1 Nev Richard comes into the Hairpin too hot and hits Alan Edwards, causing a difficult situation for the rest of the pack.

  • Nevarn, Richardpenalty — Lap 1 rear end — 2 places lost (plus 2 for penalty points)

Lap 1 Colliss Col collects Tom Goodall as he tries to get around the incident with Nev and Alan

Summary : Racing incident

Lap 6 Simon Gymer looses it going into corner and Tom runs into the back of him

Summary : Racing incident

Lap 6 Dave Gymer messages his intention to pit and slows a little into the last turn. Nev Richard just misses him and then spins and has contact with Kevin Clark. Kev takes a no fault Shift R

Summary : Racing Incident

Lap 7 Karl Doyle rear ends Dave Wilkinson going into the hairpin. Neither is held up much and Karl lets Dave back through, even loosing a place himself.

Warning only due to letting Dave back through and suffering a lost place himself.

  • Karl Doylepenalty — Lap 7 rear end — 0 places lost

Lap 9 Tom Goodall resets but does not do a stop and go within the allowed window This is normally dealt with by adding on a long stop and go time to the race finish. As this makes a difference to the finish position, I have described the method used. I took Kev?s stop and go as an example which if you compare the last corner to first corner of lap 11 and lap 12 (which includes a stop/go) it takes an additional 10 seconds. I have added 50% to this to make a long stop. The additional time to Tom?s race is therefore 15 seconds. This drops Tom from 3rd to 4th and promotes Malc to 3rd.

  • Tom Goodall — Failure to do a Stop and go following a Reset — 15.000 seconds added

Moderator's Report

Lap 1 Collis Coll collides with Dave Wilkinson going up the hill after Turn 1 at Beau Rivage. Collis goes around the outside of Dave at Turn 1 and keeps to the left. Dave gets a slightly slower exit from the corner and stays on the racing line which moves to the left up the hill. Both collide as Collis gets pinned to the Armco. Collis should have backed off earlier and avoided the collision, there is not enough room to go up the hill side by side and it would have been very difficult for Dave to judge from his mirrors how much room to give.

  • Colliss Collpenalty — Lap 1 collision — 2 places lost (plus 2 for penalty points)

Lap 1 Tom Goodall rear ends Karl Doyle at the hairpin

  • Tom Goodallpenalty — Lap 1 Rear End — 2 places lost (plus 1 for penalty points)

Aaron Edwards takes a 21 second pit stop instead of the required 25 second stop for his Eagle. The addition of the penalty for Aaron however does not effect his win as Malc was 17 seconds behind !

Moderator's Report

Congratulations to all for an amazingly clean race.

Excellent run by all and a good win for Nathan, although it would have been better if you didn't hassle Kev when on your in lap and he was still in the race.

Only alteration to the results was a slightly short pitstop for A. Edwards (33 seconds instead of the required 35 seconds). With the additional few seconds plus the multiplier for the shortage, this hands 4th place to Malc to help in his championship standings.
