Moderator's ReportCongratulations to Ralph Maiph on a steady drive to a well deserved victory. Ralph managed to avoid the mayhem at the Curva Grande on lap 1 and drove the rest of the race faultlessly. He was pushed all the way by Karl who may well have won the race if it hadn’t been for an incident at the Parabolica on lap 11. Paul Bird and Steve Peake - Lap 1 Main Straight

Well, congrats to Ralph Maiph on winning. That's the good bit but now for the bad bit. Lots of incidents, many of which were not reported to me and generally a pretty poor standard of driving. Be prepared to get upset. Lap 1 Esses M Chapman & C Navonne

Moderator's ReportCongratulations to Simon Loynes on a very fine win especially by taking the Honda at Mexico and driving a faultless race from start to finish. Moderator's ReportA brilliant drive by Nigel Bradbury marred by the use of the Kyalami Pit Wall patch which constitutes a technical infringement of the rules which means he must be disqualified from the result. This may appear harsh but the rules are quite clear and applicable to everyone. The pit lane entry at Kyalami is very tricky and a significant advantage can be gained by removing the pit wall as Mick Chapman will attest. Mick clipped the wall when attempting to make his pit stop and lost a considerable amount of time recovering before deciding to do another lap before re-pitting. Moderator's ReportAn aggressive start by Paul enabled him to get the drop on pole sitter Ralph and consequently snatch the lead into Tarzanbocht. A race long battle then ensued with Ralph applying relentless pressure to Paul in the hope that he would make a mistake. Paul didn't crack and the opportunities for a pass were few and far between. Nevertheless Ralph made a couple of valiant efforts to get by but Paul held on to win by the slimmest of margins. A brilliant performance by both drivers. Lap 1 Tarzanbocht - Mark Pitchford and Ronnie Nilsson Note: Driving round the outside is always an ambitious move and is unlikely to be successful unless there is a huge difference in driver ability. Clearly not the case if two drivers have qualified in similar positions on the grid. At the start of a race please be aware that other drivers could be in your blind spot especially if you have been help up for some reason. Take extra care when moving across onto the racing line under these situations. Lap 8 Start Line - Andy Nevill and Ben Summers Lap 19 Pulleveld - Karl Doyle and Mick Chapman

Moderator's ReportCongratulations to Paul Skingley on his third win in a row taking him within striking distance of the current championship leader, Ralph Maiph. Quite a good clean race with just one big pile up at Masta which was no one's fault but took quite a few drivers out. Bad luck to Syd Drake who qualified first but who got disconnected during his pitstop. Lap 4 Approaching La Carriere. Nigel Bradbury and Claudio Navonne.
Lap 9 Burnenville. Steve Peake & Simon Loynes

Moderator's ReportA titanic race long duel for the lead eventually saw Syd take the win after Paul ran wide at turn 1 on lap 16. Congratulations Syd. Ralph Maiph was in a secure 3rd place when he was discoed on lap 17 with less than a lap and a half before the flag. This was really bad luck for Ralph who is in a strong position in the championship. Mick Chapman (who was dropped from the server on lap 15) completed the podium. Lap 1 Turn 3 - Andy Nevill, Karl Doyle, Ralph Maiph, Galiesch Darksoul, Mark Pitchford, Claudio Navonne Lap 5 Turn 11 - Karl Doyle, Bernie Darwin, Barry West

Moderator's ReportCongratulations to Syd Drake on another win and to Raiph for continuing to close the gap to Paul Skingley. Bernie Darwin's pitstop was 4 seconds short multiplied by 3 gives a penalty of 12 seconds.
Syd Drake pitted outside his pit window on Lap 10 with 6 remaining. The latest he could stop was Lap 8 with 8 remaining. I wouldn't normally bother with this but the reason he missed his stop is that he was overtaking a Ferrari on the pit straight instead of coming in to the pit. If he had pitted correctly the outcome of the race might have been different. I don't want to spoil Syd's win but I think I have to give a warning for this.

Moderator's ReportWith the championship finely poised the two main protagonists, Ralph Maiph and Paul Skingley, put up a tremendous show in qualifying and occupied the front row of the grid. Syd Drake occupied third spot on the grid with another superb qualifying time. The first lap was intense and before long the three leaders were involved in an incident at Virage de Tertre Rouge. Despite ending up at the back of the field, Syd fought his way his way back to the front to take the win. Well done Syd. Another brilliant recovery by Paul saw him take the runner up slot and with it he secured the Division 2 Title. Congratulations Paul. Unfortunately Claudio's short pitstop cost him his first podium position of the season and presented Derek Howe with his second. Lap 1 Turn 4 - Ralph Maiph, Syd Drake and Paul Skingley
Lap 2 Turn 7 - Mike Ratters and Mick Chapman.
Lap 2 Turn 17 - Ralph Maiph, Mark Pitchford and Mike Ratters
