I think I'm going to go back to the 911 from the M3 from now on in.
The M3 is quick but I just don't find it as much fun to drive as the 911.

Nice track this Any of you chaps getting close to Nevski's lap record? I'm either way off the pace or the 811 is going to get mullered here (about time some might say ).

not had much time to praccy yet....but I'm a bit off that mark Ian....I remember my first ever race at srou in a viper was at Dubai, qualified pole (in class) but got eaten alive in race only managing 2:06's.....bit better at both setups and hopefully driving now....so I may do better this time.

My god, are those the times I may not be doing all the races but i've still been pracising for them. Mostly with this one its been trying to learn the layout and seeing if another gt2 would be better than the M3gtr, which wasnt hard. I'll happily admit i'm rubbish but didnt think i'd be that far off! Whats the average times? After some practise earlier in the week i dont think i'll be running this weekend or in the sprint next week, I hadn't been feeling well earlier in the week and though i'd not gone to work was starting to feel better until yesterday when i had a strange turn at the doctors.

as far as the above lap record goes, the viper cc was -10 kg when they were set and is +10 kg now. so I dont think many will be getting too near it carrying the extra 20 kg.

Set to stick with 20kg for this one coss I hate Dubai....if in practise I'm faster, I'll crank it up Wonder what the weather will do.....would be interesting if it gets really hot...I run hards on the rear in my normal setup so super hot temps will screw me up big time! EDIT: 1:58.7? Great! Only 2 seconds off that then!

Any of you chaps getting close to Nevski's lap record? I'm either way off the pace or the 811 is going to get mullered here (about time some might say ). I don't think you have anything to worry about. Dare I say it that I'm one of the faster Viper CC drivers and I'm slower in qualifying trim now than I was in race trim for that previous race and nowhere near Nevs time. I guess with most of the faster drivers in 911 Cups that pure lap speed might be close, but with the amount of time the 911 Cup can make in the pits it'll be hard to get a Viper CC on the podium. Managed to do a few practice laps earlier today with some pain, but not too bad so I should be back for this race. Will give it a go tonight and see how it goes. The Viper CC isn't really the car to drive when you don't want to do much wheel sawing, but there you go, could be worse as I assuming rain is unlikely!

I had a practice earlier. My car feels nice and stable and I don't think I'm making any mistakes of any note, yet i'm miles off the lap record pace. I can only hope the high temperatures when all the records were set made the track very sticky or I'm in trouble.

Offline in TT mode I can beat Nevs time in the Viper - best of 2.01.8, which is a good second faster than the 911. Come the race though I doubt the Vipers will have the same speed advantage because they will be running fuel heavy in the second half and their tyres will probably go off earlier.
Why are you struggling Simon?

Not struggling with the car in general, setup feels ok (for the Viper ), so should be good for reasonable race pace. My TT time is 1.6 seconds slower than yours Paul, which give or take up to 0.5 seconds (something that a driver can find on a really good lap) is a reasonable reflection of your superior skill to mine. I would not expect to get that TT time at the event though because one can never go as fast at the event because the conditions aren't as good as in TT mode.

I meant physically - you mentioned you were in pain. As for relative ability, I get the impression GTR hasn't got your attention as much as it used to, so it's no great surprise to see your times slip a bit. We always seemed pretty evenly matched
