In the Vertigo, 1:23.7 is my best so far in qualifying trim. With my race set-up I can just about duck into the 1:24's but not very consistently

I thought the Verty was going to get creamed here but I think the National track suits it fairly well.

that twisty uphill infield is made for the trolley-go, but fortunately the other half of the track is made for proper race cars ...1:23.7 for me too so far in the RS

Is that Race setup Mark? Now I have managed a full lap (without bouncing off the twisty curbs and attempting to go round the second last corner backwards ).....I am around 1:24:8...in race trim.

Just cut the track - drive beside those silly litlle corners. Tried that (quite a few times) TT, I usually end up with the back of my car sticking out of the hot dog stand near the pit entrance.

Can anyone please explain why driving it is so much different Online than Offline Been doing a bit of praccy offline....nothing to shout about (obviously....it's me) but at least some consistent lapping, motec data showing good tyre temps, camber angles, acceptable understeer levels etc etc....all in all a reasonably stable set up. Just went online however and.....same track temps and weather conditions...not managed to do 2 consecutive laps without falling off the road....tyre temps all over the show....even the gearing feels oddly different massive understeer followed by snap oversteer if I correct it.....(and yes, I have loaded the right setup ).....why/how can it be so different?

Dunno Bob, I think we've all experienced that feeling but I'm not sure there's a definitive answer. Track and ambient temperature can make a big difference, especially at somewhere like Dubai where it can get very hot so there can be a big difference there between offine and online FWIW, I just jumped on the UKGTR server to test, it felt OK to me, I got within a second of my PB after a couple of laps.
