Moderator's Report

Server replay time: 185s

Sandor is following a BMW closely at the main straight. This blocks his view and that probably caused him to miss his braking point.
He then overshoots and collects Ade hard. Ade then slides into the wall and loses a lot of places.
It didn't look like Sandor was trying to overtake Ade, but still it was avoidable and because it was early in the race, the damage to Ade was severe.

Server replay time: 232s

Wiltshire Tony rejoins the track in the twisty bits. He does that off the racing line, but soon comes onto the racing line again. His speed is still slow 'cause of the off, this causes Alex to slightly nudge him, which cause Tony to spin.
This incident was a avoidable for both drivers. Tony should have rejoined in a safer way, and Alex might have been able to avoid the contact. Because of that, there will be no penalties for this.

  • Alex vV (Alex v Veldhoven)warning — Rear end contact
For advice only - unreported by victim, so penalty disregarded
  • Wiltshire Tonywarning — Dangerous rejoin
For advice only - unreported by victim, so penalty disregarded

Server replay time: 620s

Psuedo rearends Alex, spinning him around. The following cars can't avoid the spinning cars, and drive into them.
This wasn't reported by Alex, which would have cancelled the penalty, but it was reported by the following drivers who were caught out.
So eventhough the first victim didn't report it, it still gets a penalty because the other victims did.

  • psuedopenalty — Rear end shunt — 2 places lost

They put two more chicanes compared to the track from GPL, so now there are really too many.

Are all those corners too much for the "yank-tanks" then? Grin

That's the problem, they aren't selectable  Shocked. Only understeering pigs (BMW, Escort and GT40) and a car I'll never ever race (Porka) Cheesy

I remember this circuit from the first Geoff Crammond Grand Prix. It was ok to drive but this one is hard work. Sad

The Escort is understeery? Perhaps it was testing the GT40 first or my setup but I found it good fun Smiley. The 911 is the only one I can get below 1.50's in so far but I haven't got the most outta the Escort yet.

Clearly I don't agree with some of your views on this track and JR's unnofficial guide to this track, think you missed a couple of corners there Wink We wouldn't haven chosen, and Simon wouldn't have recommended, it if we did. Still, lets wait till after the race before we pass judgement. I'm optimistic it will be a good one and confident I can hang on to my lead, if faster gents are abscent and JR starts from back again  Wink.

The Escort.
It has the understeering of the BMW, without the stability.
It has the snap and oversteer of the Panty, without the speed.
Who wouldn't love such a car  Grin

I don't think I can make it, though if I'm wrong and do make it, I'll be in the bimmer.

The Escort is a joke in this game and waaay off how it was in real life. In real it was a rallycar as well, good steer in and predictable oversteer. It was a great car in those days.
In GTL it understeeeeeers, and then all of a sudden snap oversteer out of nowhere.

Kinda ironic that they named the best Escort of all the "Mexico" innit?

It's called a live axle. Nobody uses them any more for this very reason!

Nope, but you only have to listen to drivers who have, or see it in action, it's very different from how it is in GTL.

So anybody got any setups? There are very few in the online folder and none for Porsche 911, which is the car that I'll be driving.
