Moderator's Report

Server replay time: 185s

Sandor is following a BMW closely at the main straight. This blocks his view and that probably caused him to miss his braking point.
He then overshoots and collects Ade hard. Ade then slides into the wall and loses a lot of places.
It didn't look like Sandor was trying to overtake Ade, but still it was avoidable and because it was early in the race, the damage to Ade was severe.

Server replay time: 232s

Wiltshire Tony rejoins the track in the twisty bits. He does that off the racing line, but soon comes onto the racing line again. His speed is still slow 'cause of the off, this causes Alex to slightly nudge him, which cause Tony to spin.
This incident was a avoidable for both drivers. Tony should have rejoined in a safer way, and Alex might have been able to avoid the contact. Because of that, there will be no penalties for this.

  • Alex vV (Alex v Veldhoven)warning — Rear end contact
For advice only - unreported by victim, so penalty disregarded
  • Wiltshire Tonywarning — Dangerous rejoin
For advice only - unreported by victim, so penalty disregarded

Server replay time: 620s

Psuedo rearends Alex, spinning him around. The following cars can't avoid the spinning cars, and drive into them.
This wasn't reported by Alex, which would have cancelled the penalty, but it was reported by the following drivers who were caught out.
So eventhough the first victim didn't report it, it still gets a penalty because the other victims did.

  • psuedopenalty — Rear end shunt — 2 places lost

I think I know what my problem might. Every time GTL gets to loading Phil Gilliland, it crashes. I guess I might be missing his car, but no clue how.

oh man, what a bad 1 lap race this was.......  Embarrassed
First I got a kiss from behind what cost me a few places, and in my eager to gain a place again i missed my braking point on the straigt and went off with blocking wheels.
Hit someone in the side (apologies to whom it was, i thought Ade) and then my suspension was broken....

end of the race.

Welcome to the UKGTL DEMOLITION DERBY  Grin

well that was fun (not).

Not had chance to praccy whatso for this one and never driven the track before...so it was a nightmare.

From what I saw..(some times very close up  Wink) it looked like total mahem out there.

Sorry to Alex for the big shunt into the final corner, I didn't expect you to brake quite so hard for it and had no time to react.
And sorry to Dan Minton too, I was trying to let a stream of front runners through but ran out of road as you went round me and couldn't go anywhere except your door.

Quit out in the end...I was not enjoying it and becoming a hazzard.

Grats winner and podiums.

Gutted to hear your problems Tibs and Sid Angry. I had no end of grief as well but got in by skin of my teeth. You practice and we plan these events for ages.

Server will be up soon if you want to run some tests. Hope you try again next week, I promise it will be worth it  Smiley

It looked totally different from my angle Bob Kiss. Fantastic race for me.

Slow painful race for me, most uncompetitive I've been in a UKGTL race.  Driving style doesn't suit that kind of L-R-L combination, cause I let the car do most of the turning and don't tip it in myself, just can't adapt to a track like that.

Good start up to 5th or 6th was fun, but backwards from then on through lack of speed and quite a few minor mistakes.  Oh well, such is life.   Grin

Congrats to the podium guys, and my teamates Bernie for a good result and MJ for fastest lap, nice.   Cool

Only joined at 8:45 with no practice, no, set up, and didn't think i would last the distance.
Started from last and somehow got through into 12 after the first few corners after a decent start.
The gearing was all wrong on the 911, and was red lining in 5th way before the 300 metre marker on the long strait.
But had an excellent race with Keith - i think first i hit you from behind on the last banked turn - i didn't expect you to brake so early, but i know the GT40 dosn't corner like a 911, so should have expected that really.
After spinning, i caught back up on the last few laps - it was crazy - respect to Keith for making the GT40 hog the racing line like it did, making it extremly difficult for me to pass - even in the bends, then watching the GT40 just blast the s/f strait.
Got there in the end though - just pipping Keith to take 12th i think on the final lap - exciting stuff   Cool

Congrats Jeff, amazing pace.
Very good driving SBGinsters and Dan,you deserved the podium guys. Smiley
After i got the pole i really thought i could manage a final top 3 .
If the setup was great for qual, it was a nightmare after 10 laps of race,
i had so much understeer, that last laps i was using the handbrake  Shocked
I even tried to use the power to have some oversteer exiting corners,
but simple didnt work, what?.....one moment please.....errrrrrrr..... my chief crew,
is telling me that one of the mechanics by mistake assembled wet tires on the front
axle  Grin  i knew that something has to be wrong  Grin
Serious now, had some fun moments with the top 5 drivers, although in last corner when Baracus,
was getting closer like a rocket, i was strugling so much with understeer, that i almost stopped  Roll Eyes
baracus to avoid me spun  Sad sorry mate.
Cheers

P.S. meanwhile the mechanic was fired  Kiss

Is it full moon? Did everybody have the same traffic jams I did this week? Did anybody also came home at 9 o'clock pm from work (f:censored:ing sales people)

Maahhhhnn, quite some aggressive driving out there. Was trouble to keep the BMW on the road so I was a bit careful.. especially when I saw several people go off..
sorry for the tab Wiltshire.. could really avoid you when you rejoined the track without spinning... will let the moderator decide.. OK?

Yeah, Pseudo .. you were riding the Trulli-Train and caused quite some havoc (four cars in total?)... you owe my a new spoiler  Wink

Did a high 46 in qually and saw I was still in 2nd, and I thought, oh God, mr. BMW PRrrrrr is flying again Smiley.
After a while I improved my time, only to see he do the same and better lol.

Just before the race I chickened out and added another 20L of fuel  whistling. That totally messed up my start, as I practiced them and they felt good.
So I had an awefull start and Bara had a cracking start  Shocked. So I went from 2nd to 3rd and was right behind Bara. He was quite slow in some corners which surprised me at some points.
In lap 2 I tried to outbrake him at T1 but I ran wide, but so did he Tongue.

After that I was few seconds behind PRrrrrr and I thought I'd never catch him as he's always so quick in that Bimmer. But to my surprise I was gaining 3/4s a lap. So by lap 5 or so I was close behind him.
He was kinda slow through parabolica and that gave me a hard time to get a run on him. First I tried a draft but ran out of revs. Lap later I tried the inside, but no luck and too danbgerous to push it there.
Again a lap later I tried the outside, but no can do Cheesy.

I noticed he kept the corner very tight and lifted off near the end of the corner, so I braked later than him and took the upper line. Then steered in tight and got a good run out the corner on the inside. So we were heading side by side towards T1 and we also went that way through T1 Cheesy.
Before T2 I was just infront of him and got the lead.

The lappers were great tonight for me, I didn't see carnage during my race  Smiley, but saw some in the replay  Sad.

The last few laps Dan was gaining quite fast on me, so I was glad the gap was big enough.

Also grats to MJ for the fastest lap Smiley.
