Good Fun Don
2nd Race I drove the last two 2 laps with my rear body work missing and the steering kinked over to the left due an error and an encounter with the wall. Managed to hold Ade off in these laps after a spirited try by Ade. Good fun.

Great racing!!!   The radicals make for close race and the brakes are so good and the cars are very predictable .   Had a great fight with Bara in the first race after Backo cleared off, Tied numerous times to out brake Bara into Druids as i was a little quicker through Paddock but he was waaay to late on the brakes..nice driving mate, got through at Westfields at the end.

2nd race got hit at Stirlings due to my warping and had a great time battling back through with a couple of good tussles along the way.

Grats to winners

thx

My screen stayed freeze and I couldn't do anything. Angry Angry Angry

I had the same when I first joined the practice server, but no problems during the races themselves.

First race got a mediocre start and had to concede a place at Druids for safety. Then fought my way up to and onto the back of TinMan, and managed to get up the inside into Surtees where he half spun and then had one of those strange lazy slow spins back the other way. After that just had to keep it clean and stay ahead of him whilst he closed the gap again.

Second race I got a really good start and then had Shark all over me whilst I battled with JPS1. Got him down into Graham Hill and Shark mugged him on the way out before mugging me a few laps later. Then Dan caught me and there wasn't enough left in me or the car to resist, so another 5th place and 5th overall. Consistent if nothing else. Cheesy

I do like these cars a lot even if there's something terribly artificial feeling about Race '07.

Results and replay now up.

That was good fun. That's my first championship race with the Radicals and at Brands they worked quite well. It's really nice to race something different from the GTR2 cars and I quite like the Radicals, more enjoyable than either of the single seaters, even if there is something artificial about the way any of the cars in RACE adhere to the track when they lose grip.

Sorry again to Dan for the tap. With your warping I had pulled out to the side a bit to try and avoid such a problem and hope your car settled down, but I guess it wasn't enough, which was a shame as you were fast indeed.

Second race was more fun than the first with the reverse grid, as the first was sort of no mans land after Dan passed me early on. I had some battles in the second race with JPS and Gizmo.

I would say with 11 or 12 drivers this series is on the brink of not being viable though and we could do with trying as much as we can to encourage people from other forums and leagues over here for these races to make them more entertaining for everyone.

only my second ever stint with a radical since owning the game. Had no praccy and had to jump in the deep end in qually...hence sitting 11th on the grid !  Embarrassed
Luckily knowing the track inside out helped but still learning just how hard you can push these things and only used default setup.
Thought they suited Brands really well, feeling on the ragged edge in lots of corners with the screaming rad engine sounds cranked up in my room!
Had 8th in the bag until final lap when i lost it around the back allowing someone to scamper home ahead of me.

I'd still rather race with the caterhams or the single seaters, its hard to dispel the feeling of arcadey bit of fun with the rads.
Graphics are great in Race, the rads blasting through the trees looked great but thought some of the corners at Brands are laughably in-accurate.

I know what you are saying Simon and agree, but as there is only one schedueled race left in this series my choice would be to try to drum up enough support to run an openwheeler series with a slightly different format than we use now.

Ok, sure thing Don.

As much as I might not like the Touring Cars, they may be the most popular type of car for RACE 07 (after all that is the main category for the game) and maybe we have to wait for Blimey's Ferrari game before getting any decent single seaters. Undecided

I will certainly continue to support the RACE 07 series with my attendance whenever possible as I like to race something other than GTR2, whatever the type of car is.

Thanks for the races last night Don,shame the numbers wer'nt up but still good fun  Smiley

First race got off with a stop and go,after the light's came on and I adjusted my seating position and ending up dropping the clutch  Embarrassed ,so ended up 30 sec's back playing catch up,still very enjoyable, finishing 8th  Grin

Second race started on pole, got away well, lead the first couple of laps, then was past by Bara, tried to keep tight on him and keep ahead of the rest of you for the rest of the race, managed to succeed  2nd Cheesy

Thanks again Don and congrats to all who raced,

Cheers Bill

A Open Wheel series would be different and good. Will the Race 07 add on change anything?
