Moderator's Report

Server replay time: 173s

Backo spins on the formation lap. He then proceeds to drive back through the field, lights flashing, almost crashing into Simon Gymer and Gazza49er on the way.

Overtaking on the formation lap is forbidden and when it's the result of the driver's own stupid mistake is even more unacceptable.

  • BACKOpenalty — overtaking on the pace lap — 2 places lost (plus 1 for penalty points)

Hurrah !! its back on the calendar  Cool

Would have been a travesty to leave it off just to avoid traffic between car classes...tell that to the ALMS boys!

Nice one DG  Smiley

As a footnote, why not divide the qual session between GT1 and GTC boys so no one can complain of spoilt laps, contact etc? Im not fussed at all, but could be an option in some rounds where traffic is an issue. Undecided

Sorry it was my car that finished you, but until I dc'd, all was well, I was right behind Freq & SBG until I disco'd coming out of last corner. I went straight from behind them to lobby...then all the swearing started Cheesy

Sorry about your lagging Reign Man. I checked with 5 other members on TeamSpeak before typing about your lagging, but it was horrendous as your car would just stop in the middle of the track and then reappear somewhere else.

That was an awful race. From the lagging on the formation lap which saw SBGs car placed in the middle of the GT1s just as we put on the limiters, to not seeing another GT1 competitor (other than being lapped near the end) for the whole race. I was bored out of my mind. I hate that circuit, it's really not for me. I kinda wish I hadn't turned up as I enjoyed that about as much as sticking pins in my eyes. Only thing that kept me going was the amusing TeamSpeak chatter and that Gizmo was having an even worse race than me angel. I could have coped if the circuit/car combo had been fun to drive, but it was diabolical. Glad Mugello is out the way now.

Shame about the severe disco/ctd/lagging problems that were occuring, no doubt a lobby problem. Undecided

That was horrible.  Sad

Disco city in qually, a really weird pace lap with disco's, ctd's and standstills....been on the praccy server on and off since 7.30am this morning....not a single problem anywhere, with others joining leaving etc....very strange Huh

Never got a good qually lap 1.5 secs off my pb  Sad....traffic wasn't too much of a prob, just couldn't seem to get a lap. Managed to get to about class 5th or 6th then CTD. start right at back between 2 GT1's that had also crashed....not good.

First half of race I was S-L-O-W....couldn't find any pace with full tanks tonight...running nearly 2 secs off my 'normal' times Huh
Faster in the second half.....but still struggled to get anywhere due to a speeding stop n go  Roll Eyes....oh, and SBG knocking me off track everytime he lapped me  Tongue laugh

Grats to winners and podiums....I think everybody should double check they have all the right connection settings btw, 'isdn'. seems strange how its been ok all day then mucked up for the race.

That was a very tough race, really feel like ive driven it for real  Shocked

Got a CTD in qually and had to start again. Think it is a lobby issue as had the same earlier today in a different online race and never normally suffer them.

Had great fights all race long with picnic, Darren and Jan, always a handful of seconds dividing us all on track.
My stop went perfect from my side again, but once again the stupid AI put a little fuel in even though its set to 0 litres in my setup  Roll Eyes Came out the pits and i found myself 13 seconds behind Picnic even though it was down to a few before we both stopped on same lap.
I then set about chasing Picnic and Darren down, thinking Darren still had to make a stop, but he had done a crafty early one.
Then as i came through sector 2 in the uphill section i saw Darren and Picnic had had a coming together, but i felt a bit gutted (but also pleased Wink) as i was closing the pair of them down at 1-3 secs a lap and with still a good 20 odd mins left so was shaping up for a titanic 3-way end of race scrap. After that i had an anti-climax end of race, with team mate TT about 30 seconds up the road and the nearest behind me by 22 seconds so just coasted around to the end.

Finished 5th behind TT's 4th. Did a solid job but a lot of effort for the scant reward of 5th after 80mins hard graft
I find it a bit de-moralising that i cant get a sniff of a podium when there is 3 aliens always up front. Sad  But i even finished 35 secs down on TT, so obviously still not got this track cracked setup wise  Embarrassed

GT1 guys were all great at lapping, though H@9000 is still way to hesitant to pass and i kept losing time hanging off racing line expecting him to go through only for him to sit back behind me. Gentlemanly i know, but would rather you nipped through a bit more aggressively to save us both time  Smiley
Congrats to the uber fast guys on the respective class podiums.  Cool

That was a pretty tough race. CTD just before the end of qually dumped me out of 6th and to the back with Hal's GT1 Fezza.

Formation lap seemed very concertina-ish from where  was and then Stewprovo's problem at the start caused chaos towards the back. I decided that being behind all the GTCs it was safer to just get on with it and I jumped the start and nipped past most which reduced the cars I had to pass at racing speed to a bare minimum. Once Hal was clear of Mike in the GTC lead I slowed right down and let him catch up so we could have a proper race.

Pulled away from Hal a little and went to stop slightly early. Pit crew gave me the okay but as I pulled in, Jan Duijs was in my spot. Did you request a stop or just turn up? I was pretty peeved and went out again rather than queueing, switching my strategy to run long instead so that I had more tyres left at the end. Pushed hard and went off a few times, nothing major but it as costing me too much time and Hal was disappearing into the distance.

Finally pitted and came out about 40 seconds behind and dead last in GT1. Wasn't really making any progress, then suddenly Hal lost a little time time and I started to gain at 1 or 2 seconds a lap. Was a repeat of Brno's last lap pass on the cards? I pushed hard and despite a few minor offs I was catching, catching, catching. With about 5 to go I caught him as we lapped (I think) Darren and coming through the uphill esses, I was massively quicker than him and managed to squeak past (after giving him a love tap and backing off again). Couldn't pull away much as my front tyres were shot but did enough to not allow him to get near me coming out of the last corner.

Really frustrating and demoralising race Sad right up to the point where the possibility of catching Hal emerged. After that a really exciting end to the race. Grin
