Moderator's Report

Another very clean Clubmans race with drivers giving great consideration to others on track. My compliments to everybody.

Bernie Darwin made good use of the chassis and won with a consistent and a trouble free ride. Chris Bull powered his Brabham to a podium position, giving Bernie a lot to think about during the first half of the race until he made a mistake and spun. Bernie was out of reach and Chris brought the car home in second. Phil seems to have had an uneventful race until Burt came knocking and making Phil work hard for the remaining podium position for the last three laps.

Noteworthy race by Robert Burton - a great performance and consistency and just about enough aggression when needed and had no mishaps so the fourth position is well earned with the Cooper.

Congratulations to Bernie and the podium. Below is an overview of some unfortunate incidents and missed SnGs.

Server replay time: 0h06m10s

Lap 2, Jack is heading towards Masta, takes it well but finds Tim Robey who had a poor entry into Masta and was bounced off the armco onto the racing line. Tim does try to get out of the way and manages to clear the racing line for Jack but unfortunatelly Jack also lifted and made an evasive manouvre sadly, to the same side Tim has opted to take and they collide. Paul was passing through and was affected by the incident.

Tim does a shift R and carries out Stop and Go; I would have allowed a no fault Shift R in this situation since Tim was good to continue prior to being hit by Jack.

If drivers have doubts about whether they are entitled to a no fault Shift R and were involved with another car rather than their own mistake, perhaps its the best not to do a Stop and Go since 15 seconds is about the time it takes for a Stop and Go to be carried out. You are "strongly" advised to carry out Stop and Go after resetting due to own mistake as the time penalty is 30 seconds.

Server replay time: 0h07m14s

Paul was unfortunate to come accross the accident between Jack and Tim at full speed and although he selected a free line, he was hit by a spinning car and sent against a house wall. Paul does a Shift R, continues and then makes a mistake coming out of Stavelot and loses a wheel. Paul resets again but fails to perform a Stop and Go. I'm granting a no fault Shift R for the first reset but the second reset had to be followed by a Stop and Go.

Server replay time: 0h14m01s

On Lap 4, Art makes a mistake in Blanchimont and is forced to reset. On lap 5, art makes a mandatory timed pit stop and waits for massive 14 seconds, as opposed to 2 seconds he needed to. Unfortunatelly, the extra long pitstoip does not replace a Stop and Go that should have been taken on the following lap.

Server replay time: 0h16m06s

Lap 5, Graham spins awkwardly at Le Combes and opts to reset his car but fails to carry out a Stop and Go.

Server replay time: 0h17m05s

Lap 5, Steve is taking Stavelot but runs a bit wide and finds there a struggling Paul McCluskey. Slight contact is made but no driver is at fault here.

What a race!, my chances were not looking good at spa in a cooper, was hoping maybe for a top 6 if i was lucky. Again as always in the cooper im slow off the line. I decide to take it easy 1st lap and tuck behind Tim Robey's Ferrari, also avoiding all the mayhem i thought would happen at Masta. After the 1st lap im up to 6th which is looking very good indeed. Lap 4 im coming up to last few corners of the lap and cut inside Artur to move up to 4th. Now i check Pribula and notice Phil is about 9secs ahead of me with 4 laps remaining. I try everything to try and catch him just to get a podium in a Cooper would look great for a track like Spa, and maybe a nice manager would be impressed Wink

2 laps remaining and im right on the tail of Phil, i can just about catch him but cant get past, as the ferrari is that much more powerful than my Cooper.
Last lap and im right there, just waiting for my moment. I drive the perfect line through Malmedy if its that what its called (flagpoles), then another good line through masta, down to Stavelot, i get alongside even clipping the grass a little, only to see that ferrari is still along side me!!!, i then let it give way as it had the inside corner and pushed hard till the last corner on which i had to settle for 4th.

Great race, Great result considering it was a cooper and only a ferrari, lotus and brabhams was quicker than me. Also to actually finish a race after having problems in my last 2 races with graphic driver problems. Roll on Div1 race!

Heres a link to the last lap battle with Phil:-

Thanks for a great Race Phil, grats Bernie and podium, Roll on whereever we are next!

It doesn't look as though the time penalties have been taken into account.

Strange, the time penalty has been applied but the system doesn`t update the finishing order. I`m sure I generated standings and did that just now once more to be sure but it still stays...

Have to consult Gyz on this

If it is still the same LEAGUEMAN software you do have to manually adjust the result on the basis of the added time.  Then any other penalties will work themselves out.
LOL
It took me ages to get the hang of it and I was still buggering it up when I finished with modding.  Losing the little flags was my usual trick. Roll Eyes

LM2 does this automatically Clive (I think it does). I didn't have to adjust anything manually for the last race where time penalty was applied, I'm not aware if other mods or Gyz did something.

Mind you, I did made a mistake back then by selecting penalty under drop down menu which resulted with penalty points but the race order was correct... (if you observe Bernie's time from Kyalami, you can see he received 30 seconds but in all honesty, I can't tell if the race order was updated as basically Bernie's time penalty made no difference anyway).

EDIT: Gyz fixed the results

Art suffered a 30 seconds penalty. This only became aparent now once the time penalties applied to the results.
