Backo runs into the back of Simon Gymer going into Seat - not even a passing attempt, just another example of poor judgement when racing close.

Simon immediately flashes him through to avoid more serious contact.

  • BACKOpenalty — rear ending Simon Gymer — 2 places lost

Server replay time: 1504s

Having just been passed by Simon Gymer, Backo again shows poor judgement entering Elf and runs into the back of Simon, who is held up momentarily by a lapped car.

Because the lapped car constitutes a mitigating circumstance, and since the contact was very light, I'm reducing this to a 0 place penalty.

  • BACKOpenalty — rear ending Simon Gymer — 0 places lost

Server replay time: 1765s

Truetom is on the back of a four-way scrap in GTC; as they approach La Caixa he allows himself to be distracted by Shark's GT1 car as it approaches to lap them, and runs into Mark McClean's 911, spinning him out.

TT attempts to wait for Mark to rejoin, almost causing an accident with another GT1 car in the process. He then takes the more sensible option of driving round to the start/finish straight and allowing him to regain the place there instead.

  • Truetompenalty — Rear ending Mark McClean (reduced for giving the place back) — 0 places lost
For advice only - unreported by victim, so penalty disregarded
  • Truetomadvice — be careful not to wait in a dangerous place on the track

I was really sad to miss out on this one. Barca is one of my favourite tracks and one of my strongest.      Not sure how I would have got on with the lister but I've got good set ups for the lambo to challenge lap records.

That was fun!

I knew i could be a bit more consistent around here than some of the other tracks we've been to so decided to run a low fuel-soft tyres run  for the first time and was pretty happy with my time as i hadnt managed to get under 1.47 in testing and was under 3 secs from the GTC leaders which was a first.

On the pace lap i was finding difficult noticing the brake lights on the back of the predominately red Porsche in front which made for some dodgy moments, sorry to those behind Smiley Then for most of the first half of the race there was some close racing, as i first closed on Jan Duijs then the guys behind caught up with Ade being right behind me. The gaps then changed a bit as the GT1's started to come through but i managed to close Jan down again and after some really good dicing managed to get down the inside into the final corner. I then managed to pull away slightly and starting thinking about pitting. I tend to run equal stints but noticied i was going to need to pit  few laps earlier than the 40 mins.
I seemed to be slowing abit coming up to the pit stop and got a bit distracted as i had left the window open abit and it was quite humid so I had a load of insects buzzing around me which caused me to downshift into first for the 90deg left, spinning stright infront of Jan who had caught me up. Sorry Jan Smiley

I knew as i pitted i need more fuel than i planned but i guess i still didnt put enough in so as i was running in 17 towards the end, pretty much status quo with everyone and with 1 lap to go i had to stop again which meant i dropped right back.

The GT1's were great all the way though, so thanks

Congrats to both podiums, well done guys

Cant wait for the next one now!

Before the race I switched to the Modena, because i thought it would give me closer racing, because the car is more equal to the other GTC's. I was right Smiley.

Just couldn't get in a good lap during qually, I always messed up one sector. Sometimes I was 0.2 up and then lose it all.
So I had to settle for 3rd behind Paul.

Got off to a good start and could hold on to Paul and Mike. Mike soon found a bananapeel and we were in 1st and 2nd.
I always find it very hard to follow Paul, as he brakes very early, so I had a few scares early on.
With Mark and TT right behind me, I had to push hard to stay in 2nd. A few times I had to fend off the Porka of Mark, as it's faaaast down a straight line  Shocked.
I noticed that Paul was sliding a lot, but at that point, so was I Tongue.
At some point he drifted to much and I got the momentum out of the corner, and could get on the outside of Campsa.
There was a great 4 car train up till that point Smiley.

I pitted a bit earlier, to get fresh tyres and a splash of fuel. WHen Paul has done its stop I was 7s infront. It all of a sudden went to 12s, so I could take a bit of pressure off and save tyres.
He was slowly gaining towards the end, but I had enough of gap.

Very good race this, and I'm happy I took the Modena. Although an understeering pig, it's much better for racing than the VertiZZZZzzzzzzz.....

Good win from the flying Dutchman, and nice one to Simon on second place after another fast but inconsistent drive from Backo (I swear if you calmed down you'd be 20 seconds faster each race).

It's true FreQ,but I've got my style of driving which I really enjoying. ;)I did also a lots mistakes trough race, because I didn't any practice before at all. I joined on server little be lucky on qualification 2 (full -28 people!!!) with any setup,so I'm very happy with 3'th but I could be 2'th , I had nice time and challenge with S. Gymer,I was faster in curves and on brake ,he was faster on straight  Shocked Shocked Shocked .Amazing moments!!!Also I had small accident with some GTC cars ,after that I was out of track that cost me about 20sec.I'm really enjoyed race.!!!! Grin Well done  guys on podium GT and GTC class! Cheesy

Not my best race but a really intense experience, especially the first half. Qual was as good as I was likely to get and being ahead of Jeff was nice, although Mike got a good lap in to take pole. When Mike started to spin slowly in front of me on lap 1 I could see us both going off, but luckily managed to dodge round him without losing the place to Ruskus. I then had him nipping at my heels for ages as I struggled with the car. Seeing the high temps in practice I opted for med/hard tyres, which was safe but a bad choice in the circumstances as the temps stayed low. Left with a rather oversteery car (hence the sliding Jeff) I was always on the defensive and couldn't get close to my normal times in race trim. In the end I made a mistake at the bottom of the hill before Campsa and Jeff was quickly alongside and then past. Mark also got level at the end of the back straight and we went side by side all the way round. I left room for him at the next right but he backed off a bit early which caught TT out and he nudged Mark into the gravel. This left me with some breathing space and meant I could keep up the pressure on Jeff. He pitted slightly early, and I would have liked to do so too, but I knew fuel would be tight and wanted to make sure I got an automatic splash in the pits. I then had the same problem as the previous week, when my pit request fell on deaf ears and I ended up doing 2 extra laps on worn tyres, probably costing at least 4 seconds. By the time I came out the lead was therefore 7 secs, with Mark 15 secs back. I was keeping up with Jeff and even closing slightly, but was conscious that Mark was in the zone and closing fast. I then made things much worse by concentrating too hard on a lapping GT who I didn't totally trust not to dive for the apex and stupidly missed a gear change and ended in the gravel. From then on it was all about keeping Mark at bay as Jeff was too far away to challenge. The gap was down to 4 secs at one point but then stabilised and went up a bit near the end, leaving me to finish 2nd (and with 6 laps of fuel on board  Roll Eyes).

Congrats to Jeff for being just a bit too fast throughout. Mark was really quick too and without the first half tap might have even had a shot at the win (sorry TT). Congrats too to Freq for yet another win - 20kg is for wimps  Wink. Hard luck to the other kerbies who seem to have had incident packed races. Nice to see though that we've got the lead in the team GTC championship now  Smiley

Good fun overall. I was having a good battle with a couple of other GTC cars when I got a bag full of neutrals in the last turn, not recommended! Then sat in the gravel trap trying to snatch a gear. Got going and managed to finish.

The whole show in GTR 2 is soooo..very more polished than the other sim bin sims.

Yeah, bit disappointed at how easily we've been overhauled but you and MC Hammer are a pretty unstoppable duo! I'm not hoping you both have catastrophic connection problems in the final round, oh no! Wink Grin

Yes, Paul, I know. I felt a proper  offtopic ban oops cursing censored death dots  Point is, Shark in his GT1 caught us and I glanced back and by the time I reacted it was too late.  Sad  To be clear, the mistake was all mine and Shark is of course not to blame. I simply wasn't careful enough. After a commotion up front, change of the lead and all, I felt blood, was on trail and chasing.  ninja A rookie mistake and all other bad and worse things to put beside it.  Lips Sealed  It ruined my race as well, after I recovered and decided not to quit the race after all, I had a boring race. Didn't want to chase Mark, and the next car was a long time after me so I was driving like in a time-trial.  Sad  I feel bad also, 'cause there was a great string of four cars, all with equal possibilities and after a fair amount of practice my car also felt great.  Undecided  Almost like Dubai.  Wink
Nothing to do but say: "I'm sorry!" to Mark. Oh, and write a report.  Wink

Great race right up until the point were I put the Psuedo F550 in to the wall and it then caught alight Undecided Sorry Boss  oops

Qualyd 5th and near the start of the race Gazzas UE problems continued and he retired giving me 4th. Dave and Psuedo got close behind me and Dave gets me on the final corner putting me back in 5th. Psuedo gets very close then we catch the GTCs but Dave makes a mistake and I manage to get back 4th. Dave is on me big time and I go defensive but it is not enough and he gets me in the final corner again (Very nice battle Dave Grin). I am back to 5th but I manage to get Dave in the pit. After all the pit stops play out I am up to 3rd as Backo makes a mistake. I hold 3rd for a long time but Backo is very quick and easily takes 3rd back. As I am trying to maintain speed and worried about Dave and Psuedo catching up I start to push hard. At the end of lap 37 I lose it at the final corner after taking too much curb, I snake then go straight into the wall. Kept the engine running and tried to pull away but the engine caught fire Shocked. End of race Sad

Much fun was had by me Cheesy

Was a very good race last night.  It was one of those where you need eyes on the back of your head Grin, very exciting stuff.   I was trying to get Jeff but had to keep tabs on TT as to his where abouts ninja, Managed to get alongside Jeff heading into T1 but i couldnt take the place as jeff had to turn in sometime and as he did he kept his spot.  I had been looking to pass Paul straight after Jeff got thru but i gotta a shock when TT and i touched, didnt know what hit me Wink

After that i just tried to get back in touch with Paul but never could, after the pitstops i got within viewing distance but that was it.

PS. TT, now i really do owe you one lol yes

Cheers Mark.

Great racing yesterday in the back of the lot as well. Especially tight in the beginning, with four cars in close pursuit and then Mike showed up to regain his lost positions and mixed it up even more.

Only hairy moment was near the midpoint of the race, when approaching Campsa I ran wide in the chicane on my worn tyres. Unfortunately at just that moment Backo was making his pass in the GT1 car and touched my rear, sending me spinning into the wall and puncturing a tyre. Luckily I was going to pit in at the end of the lap anyway, so little time lost there. Sorry for the scary moment!
