Well what can I say? ?? Good Qualiifying time for me, 2nd in class I think, drove an absolutely full on commited race, some fantastic battles with Dave and Pops, though I did end up getting a stop go for cutting the track after a "small" incident (which I won't be reporting because it was just a racing incident) Might have to report myself for that one then! You'd moved over to let a lapping car by and I wrung my hands (but only mentally - otherwise I'd have crashed! ) and got just ahead before realising that perhaps into the first tyre chicane wasn't really such a clever place to be trying to make up a place when you probably had to stop for fuel and tyres in a few laps. Braked relatively early and hard but left it too late to allow you to get back past - thought you had made it through very slowly, I'm gutted that you had to take to the gravel, even more gutted that the stupid game gave you a completely undesereved S&G for it. When you caught me again a few laps later I made sure I didn't contest your pass into the final set of corners.

Oh, and annoyingly I didn't get a client replay. I've set ReplaySaver to load at startup because I kept forgetting it but when I went to check for the replay, t'wasn't there. ReplaySaver had forgotten my GTR location and wasn't saving anything. :'(

You know what Dave, I'll have to check the replay, in the heat of battle I may have confused the laps and it might not have been you at all :-) I'll have a look tonight when I get home and, if it wasn't my appologies, but great battle all the same

Big congrats to Dave for the NGT win, once again masterful strategy wins the day! Had a brilliant race despite the fact there was only 4 NGT's. Qualified in NGT 2nd behind Tyf, then spent 8 laps chasing his Bi-T, he was faster on the straights but I was pulling it back through the chicanes. Great stuff. Tyf & I then swapped the lead about 4 times as he kept spinning and re-overtaking me. The last time stuck as I came in to pit after 30 mins. I was pretty sure Dave wouldn't stop but I thought I might *just* be fast enough. I re-overtook Tyf and Jamera after they pitted and was way down on Dave but closing about 2 seconds a lap, nowhere near fast enough but maybe *just* enough if Dave made a mistake. So, pushed on a little harder and inevitably went off at the last chicane letting Jamera and Tyf through, luckily Jamera immediately went off and Tyf had to pit for fuel. I'm feeling a bit lucky to finish in 2nd. It could have been Tyf, Jamera and me in any order. Top performance by the GT guys, very patient and courteous. I think we're beginning to understand each other now eh? Pops.

Not sure that was ReplaySaver's fault. I for the first time in ages tried leaving replays on during an online race (as it wasn't an important one for me good opportunity). Didn't get 1 fps bug but when I went to look at the replay it wasn't there, just a 30 second instant replay one.

It wasn't - photographic proof later. That's a relief - I can now feel proud of my win again. It was a great battle - you were doing really well to hold enough of a gap so I had no chance to overtake until Zacari lapped you. Once I was past you really got the bit between your teeth and it was only a lap and a half until you repassed me; I was having to take the second tyre chicane very conservatively on hard tyres, especially as I couldn't afford a stop to repair any damage or my whole strategy would be toast, so when you had a look at the inside I didn't dare conest the pass. After that I could only try to apply as much pressure as I could - the reward was you taking the first tyre chicane a fraction too fast, running onto the gravel and spinning out of the class lead. After that it was fairly plain sailing apart from my stupid spin - which was extra stupid because I was feeling pressure from Tyf, who was not only quite a few seconds behind, but not actually on the same lap! D'oh!

Sorry Aagramn, usurping your role here (I'll have the unions on me!) but couldn't resist impoting the provisional results.

I decided at the last minute to join in to get some much needed race practice. Stuck with the Z3 as the Seat might have been tricky at Enna with no practice. Qual was more about finding a setup I liked than getting a time, as I was bound to be at the back. Started with Simon's qual setup, but changed it away from the low downforce configuration. Went with a full tank and a no-stop strategy.
Started the race behind Dave, and stayed with him for a few laps until Gerald took Dave off. The next lap or so I could see Gerald going for a very similar pass and expected the worst. There was tyre smoke, Gerald missed the corner and I stupidly missed my turn-in point as I watched. A slow spin on the exit and then a rejoin some way behind Dave followed.
Gradually got in the groove and the times came down. Dave wasn't going away that quickly but I made a few silly mistakes, mainly because I kept forgetting which gear I was in and changing down one too many times. By half distance Dave was about 20 secs up the road but I was reducing the gap on some laps. Then started pushing a tad too hard to close the gap, when I should have realised that as the other NGTs pitted I was gaining places. After a few silly errors and another spin at the first tyre chicane I retired at about 2/3s distance as I felt I was more in hotlap mode than racing mode which isn't good when you are a non-scoring driver.
Enjoyed the race anyway.
Paul
