Moderator's Report

nsfast comes up to lap JPV at Coppice, it must have looked like JPV was leaving the door open but it was just a late turn in. nsfast, probably misinterpreting JPVs car positioning ducked down the inside very late, clipping and spinning JPV. Not really any need to try and lap entering the corner with the straight coming up, but to his credit nsfast clearly pauses before rejoining to let JPV stay ahead, while JPV does a neat 360 and carries straight on. Greater care needed when lapping.

Later I think I misjudged FreQ's passing move and pulled out at the wrong time. Hope it didn't cause any major damage.

Nah, was only minor. I misjudged how fast you were going, I was expecting to catch you on the exit of foggy's but suddenly was looking to run into the back of you. It was almost as if you'd stopped! I shudda gone left really, just panicked.

What's the phrase? "Stealing defeat form the jaws of victory?" Quite  Roll Eyes

Started off ok and pulled a small gap, then cocked up behind various GTCs - this track is appaling for multiclass racing. Somehow came out of the pits ahead of Simon and then promptly binned it at McLeans after taking some kerb. Managed to close it up again but couldn't get past as he was quick in all the important areas.

Sorry TSJ - I couldn't send you to the grave with a win Sad Oh well

Nice race Simon and may see some peeps around next season  Smiley

Great race for me, my best result yet in GTR2, 12th overall and a 8th in the GTC Class for this event.

Made very few mistakes combined with some pre event practice, and it all seemed to pay dividends.

Still lots to learn but great fun, thanks for putting on the show Dave Gizmo Gymer.

Congratulations to Paul on his Endurance Drivers Championship,  very well deserved, he was in a league on his own even with 40kg ballast  I Am Not Worthy
And very well done to the Kerbies on a close fought Team Championship win, only 2 points in it for last two rounds  thumbup1

Commiserations to myself and my teamies, we took it to the wire and kept the Kerbies and sharks in line for most of the season, getting 2nd place overall in the team championship. I had hoped with 3 of us running in the top 5 last night, we would have done enough to grab the title, but my disco and Darrens stop and go's saw it went the way of the Kerbie.
Great racing as always and special thanks to the guys behind the scenes who make it all happen  thumbup2

I was surprised to hear so many had Discos again last night  thumbdown i thought it was my connection again as it had been pretty naff all weekend. Im with Fast.co.uk, a premium ISP but i am far from happy with the quality of my connection, with low data speeds etc, i dont know if its their fault or BT's ? Though it seemed rock solid in game last night until somebody quit the game, then i began getting 're-synch' messages and first one car, then all cars started warping all over the place making it impossible to drive.

It was noted on our TeamSpeak last night that you were lagging quite badly for a few mins before you left.

I see Fast.co.uk are resellers of Netservices, wonder who else resells them. If there was a link there to last night's glitch. Mind you as you were the only one reported as lagging I suspect the two are unrelated.

Another great first half and a nail biting finish in the team championship. I was pretty happy with my pole time but was expecting Darren to go a bit quicker as he was doing low 32s in race trim earlier. Once we got going he was quickly on my exhaust, especially through the old hairpin, but he was slower in the places were a pass might happen - the esses and the hairpins. I was having to push really hard though and in the end it told as I took a bit too much curb at Mcleans, got a bit sideways and he nipped past. I managed to stay with him after that with a 4-5 sec gap back to TT & Mark but there wasn't much chance of a pass. I was pretty sure that Darren would need longer to stop (either that or he was absolutely pants at qualifying on low fuel!) but I had one eye on Mark who was very quick last time out and might be on the same strategy (full fuel). I finally managed to get an early pitstop to work so that I wouldn't lose too much time on worn tyres, and by the time the stops had played out things looked pretty good. Mark was 16 secs back and TT & Darren were even further away (especially after Darren's stop/gos). For a while Mark was closing, but the gap was big enough to  let me take it fairly easy. In the end it didn't matter as he unfortunately discoed, leaving me with a long cruise to the finish, but it did make the team championship more of an issue - with Mark 2nd behind me the Kerbies would win, but with TT in 2nd then Darren had a chance to spoil the party. His 2nd stop/go and Ade's contribution though meant that they just fell short.

Congrats to Simon on his first win of the season and to the baby Sharks for the GT1 team title - simply too good for the rest. Thanks to everyone who I've raced with this season - its been great fun battling again a wide range of different drivers, many of whom seem to be getting worringly quicker  Shocked Well done to the Kerbies on another team title and to the GT1 boys who might have had 2nd had Paul not been 'distracted'. I'm rather disappointed he couldn't be bothered to turn up for the last race - where is his commitment?  Roll Eyes Grin Hard luck to the Legends boys who put up a good fight last night - I hope you didn't use that ropey old setup I gave you  Wink Finally thanks to all the mods for another season of good racing - much appreciated.

Just to add my congrats to Paul968 on the title; a simply amazing drive this season with all that ballast I Am Not Worthy

And to the Kerbies on the GTC team title, we pushed you as hard as we could but just weren't quite good enough in the end. Well done on the win guys Smiley

Like jps1 this one of my better races alltho i must admit i fort i would have quala a touch higher than 10th but the pace of the field was faster than i anticipated.
Race started well was just about hanging on to the back of Pete and Reign Man who was putting early pressure on Andy eves, then to my supprise Pete looked like he just clipped
the grass at the old hairpin which rocketed him into the wall,I was close to following him aswel at the same time.
Reign Man and Andy were now slowly getting away 10Th's a lap then Rm put a move on Andy that didn't stick so he ended up of the track at McLean's,just Andy left now who
in turn fell at redgate so i now had a clear run while the battle behind continued.
I think i was around 3 or 4 seconds ahead which i managed to stretch out to around 10 - 11 seconds, then i was at my suprise running 2nd while people were pitting.
When it came to my stop i had no idea were i was in the gtc class when i came out so just went for it but to my supprise i was a way of Rm and Andy who i had good time over entering the pits
but with around 6 min to go i finally caught Andy up and as were both having a moment up at McLean's and copice i squeezed past and stretched away to finish 6th in class.

Just had a look at the ukgtr notepad as i wanted to find out why my pitstop was so Long but the time ain't there as you can see

Lap=(24, 2458.427, 1:36.636)
Lap=(26, 2728.483, 1:44.185)

It douse show on Paul's unofficial race report tho with a time of 2:53.420 which was 43 seconds slower than Reign Man,
who was 45 seconds ahead at the end looks like i need to kill some pit crew  Embarrassed

Nice race anyway guys and congrats winners and everyone making it possible

Got it in one..  I am pants at qualifying on low fuel.  Embarrassed  (must work on this for next season)
My fastest quallifying lap was posted in the last few minutes while using my race setup with 100L onboard...  Roll Eyes

I went for a soft/med tyre strategy but it didn't really pay off.  I needed to get past you early to take full advantage, however, like you say I was only really faster in the areas I couldn't pass; like after the old hairpin where I had to lift off everytime while going up the hill.

I hope you didn't use that ropey old setup I gave you  Wink

You gave us a setup?  Who, when, where?   Heads will roll  Grin

I don't understand Darren? How come your pitstop was so long if you had 100L on board?

I took soft/med too. It was too cold for anything else.

A very good question indeed.. WHY???

1) Even though I requested a pit stop just after starting a lap, my pit crew was still in the garage when I arrived.  They then slowly walked out with my wheels...  I guess this was due to me being close to the pit entrance.  I think they only leave the garage when you enter the pit lane...

2) Due to you slightly tapping my rear bumper (no blame) I had some aero damage, which I forgot to cancel.  Embarrassed That cost me about 10 seconds...

3) I was using just over 2L of fuel per lap in practise.  So I calculated that I needed a top up with an extra 10L to be safe.. (which it turns out I didn't need)  Roll Eyes

4) I don't currently do manual stops..  (I need to change this for next season)

I guess all of the above cost me around 30 seconds...  Embarrassed  Oh well, I guess there is plenty of room for improvement..  Grin

Hmm, still don't get it. I also took about 10 litres extra . The contact was very slight and wouldn't normally extend a stop (I often get 'repairs under way' after little taps like that but they just get on and change the tyres), but you were stationary for about 25 seconds longer than me. You should request a stop on the lap before you pit so that the crew are ready, and this will save up to 5 seconds.

Don't think I tapped your bumper though - a slight dent in the door perhaps but we were pretty much side by side.  Tongue Kiss

I'm just saying what I experienced.  Even though I pressed the pit request button just after crossing the s/f line, my crew wasn't ready...  So are you saying I should request a pitstop even earlier?  I thought you have to request a stop on the lap you want to come in on, not on the previous lap..  Undecided

My crew not being ready cost me around 5 seconds.  Then they stood around for a further 10 seconds before lifting my car to change the tyres.  I had assumed they used this time to fix the damage to my car...

Then because I don't manually cut off the engine etc, this costs me a couple of seconds...  So we are already at 17-18 seconds, so why is it so hard to believe?

A poor pit entry (likely) and a bad exit (more than likely) and there is your 25 seconds... Smiley
