Moderator's Report

Server replay time: 3116s

Sandor runs into the gravel and spins the car when he regains the track. He ends up broadside on the track just off the racing line. Sandor starts to get going at the exact moment sbg appears over the brow, and with Sandor filling the racing line sbg cannot avoid and they collide.

Pretty marginal, Sandor may well have checked the track before he started moving, and sbg was barely visible, but he would have been clearly audible and Sandor should have hit the brakes when he heard him, leaving space for sbg to pass. However, since it was a hard angle to check and sbg was barely visible when Sandor started moving, only 1 place lost.

AMENDED - sbg didn't want any penalty applied (but didn't tick the no penalty box) so now reduced to warning.

sorry i missed this one, my own stupid fault. I completely forgot i had un-installed the TC65 srouk skins from my game and i didnt have the skinpack installed on my pc any longer...damn my efficiency!
I still had 15mins to get the pack downloaded at that point but alas the link in downloads just points to Filefront..no download. Tried typing in the skinpacks exact title in their search bar but found nothing.

Yes i was in the Elite Ginsters so would have been a good evaluation against the Jags and Abarths perhaps.

Hope i have more luck at Le Mans Classic. !

Race of two halves for me, first one poor, second one much more motivated.

I have a real problem with the change in lighting conditions from a bright qually to twilight race, and had a virtual repeat of my mistake at T1 at Porto, just can't see my braking marker when I'm using the change in track surface as the marker.  So after jumping from 12th to 6th or 7th off the start and thinking I might be able to dice with some Cortinas, I threw it all away with a great big series of 'where's my braking point.....can't see it........errr, better brake now I guess.....*bleep* too late, here comes the scenery'.  Fortunately I was on the outside and didn't take anyone out any time, just ran onto the grass.

Be interested to know if anyone else has this problem, maybe its my tired old eyes, graphics/monitor combo (although all game settings are pretty much maxed out and I've turned the brightness up) or do I just use the track surface more often as a reference?  Not always, depends on marker board and scenery at the particular corner.  But several corners here at Brands I had to find new reference points during the first part of the race.  Perhaps a warm-up or even a rolling start with pace lap to familiarise yourself with conditions would be good.  Or maybe I just need to take note of the race start time and practice with those time of day settings.   Tongue

Had a good dice with Adam once I'd started to stay on the track, but I was pretty demotivated and not very quick so I thought I should let my teammate through, then he suffered from Martin's lag and ended up on his roof.  When I closed in on Martin I couldn't stop myself getting too close (within about 2 s) and twice caught a ghosting car and was off, so I pitted early, which I overshot and lost 15 seconds or so reversing back.   Roll Eyes  What an idiot!

Second half I found my motivation and ran cleanly and quickly and picked up a few places, in fact after PR pitted out beside me, a lap ahead in 3rd, over the next 10-15 laps I only lost 2-3 seconds, was very pleased with that in the Mustang.  So it all ended well.   Smiley  Sounded like an eventful and fun race up front, congratulations to the podium, and to all finishers.

I dunno what's happened to the FF link but the link underneath it, despite what the text said before I corrected it, was an HTTP download from my own webspace and does still appear to be working. Not much use now but always worth hovering over a link to see if it really goes where it claims (good for avoiding "phishing" scams too!).

Are you saying that you don't practise the circuit prior to a race with the appropriate daylight setting set?

Well i'm still chasing that elusive podium but it was a full Prodigy turnout and a lot of fun.

I love the Cortina's handling and I know Brands fairly well so I had high hopes for this one. Put in a decent qually stint, no idea where i'd have found that extra time to catch Mr. Minton and Bara, but chuffed to be at the sharp end anyway.

Got a reasonable start and set off with two things on my mind, do not let the leaders disappear and do not cane your tyres too early on! Think the former would have been a lot more tricky had it not have been for the intense battling between the leaders which inevitably slowed them just enough to let me hang on. Haven't seen the replay yet but Dan, gutted m8, really unlucky..not the way i'd want it but that retirement put me in second and on Bara's tail from what i recall.

Think it was a mistake that let me by and into the lead, at which point the memories of Philip Island came flooding back where I just totally bottled it and made silly errors. Determined not to have a repeat i tried to chill out a bit and focus. Well I focussed alright. Maintained a 7 sec lead but before I knew it I was exiting Paddock and starting lap 17...no problems there you might say, except i'd planned to pit on lap 16 and fuelled accordingly  Shocked

Started to splutter at about Hawthorns and this continued all the way to the pit lane. Thought my race was over but my some miracle I had enough fumes to make it to the pit area - unfortunately the bad news didn't finish there. No flippin pit board! Did the usual backwards and forwards dance and no joy. I wasn't sure if this was related but Jeb had mentioned something about a mechanic rubbing his crotch in his face so throwing caution to the wind I started running over my crew which seemed to do the trick and board appeared  Grin

Exited in 12th which turned out to be sixth once the pitstops had unfolded. Tony had retired and was kindly doing a blinding job of keeping me abreast of goings on (every position in terms of distance from Clearways  Wink) with the cars around me via Teamspeak. Had a good but lonely blast until I reached Martin! Man that was an experience. Wiped me out completely at Graham Hill, after which I caught him again but didn't have the nerve to get any closer than 200 metres! Luckily he pitted shortly after.

The rest of the race was pretty uneventful aside from catching Martin once more in the latter stages and having to drive off the racing line and judge the gap between me and Ade who wasn't far behind.

Grats to Bara, Sooty and Pribeiro, some great driving and awesome times. Unlucky Dan and sorry you couldn't quite make it Jonzo. Dave I hope that's just a knee jerk reaction!

Martin I realise if you didn't see Tony's message that you would have been oblivious so this isn't aimed at you but Pseudo/ SBG..can we make an exception and point this out in the race chat if it happens again? Think its a better option too risk a minor distraction than have the carnage that was last night!? Either that or give us red shells so we can fight back  Grin

Exactly!  Grin  Just did a quick 30 minute practice (it was sunny then  Cheesy) a few days ago and that's it, for Brands I know well, no need to practice much, just get a setup that doesn't spit you off.  And I never thought of checking the start time, never do.  Sad  Oops.

I did see the message in quali and only had time to look at Martin quickly before race began and in that short while he was ok. For me, these things should ideally be brought up in quali and chat addressed to any mods around then seems fair to me. Its tricky to point the finger with any certainty unless others check but this can be done in quali, unfortunately we didn't catch it early enough last night.

The race is of course a different matter and no mods are going to be available to check the situation. I don't think for one minute that anyone here would tell you that you are warping to gain advantage but I would worry that the trouble might be at my end and there is a danger of pointing the finger incorrectly, if honestly. Also incidents like last night are rare and its normally easy to spot dangers yourself, Martin was just unfortunate last night.

Bring it up asap in quali and these things can be checked and sorted. For me, the race is a different matter but I'd appreciate the managements views Smiley

I have no objections to anyone pointing out bad lag like that during qually or race.....only problem is who is going to 'pull over and type a message' whilst racing themselves....I couldn't, I would end up either in the barriers or up someones rear  Wink (I know,  Roll Eyes that happens anyway  Cheesy)
