Moderator's Report

Server replay time: 1961s

Server replay time: 1961
Simon makes an over-ambitious overtaking move on Darren into turn 2. Darren holds his line and Simon makes every effort to avoid a collision. Resulting contact was light but causes Darren to loose time and the place.

  • Simon Gymerpenalty — over-ambitious overtake (reduced for making every effort to avoid contact) — 1 place lost

quite possible Jeff, maybe a double downshift...had a few of them recently. will have to try and 'listen' to the replay. Smiley

There is a program called keydelay or something. That can prevent double downshifts due to falty hardware or stupid drivers  Grin

Nice one, thanks for that.  I agree, these logitech drivers are useless  Wink

I downshift quite hard during qualy or in a race when I'm really pushing, but generally you should be more gentle on downshifting during a longer race. I pushed the 350Z really hard for most of the Brno race; I normally only lose 2 or 3% of the engine, but lost about 23% through being too aggressive that time.

See it all the time in youtube videos, where people go down 4 gears in a blink, just concentrate on being more progressive. Having a good wheel certainly helps though.

The Modena also has a very big gap between 1st and 2nd in the default setups - I moved 2nd down and spread the upper gears out a bit more which made the car much more stable under braking.

I forgot the name really, so I can't find it Sad.

What the program basically does is, you sign a button on the wheel (shifter in this case) to a button on the keyboard. Then you select the time between the possibility of each press. So if you set it to 200ms, the button won't react within that time limit.

I use the Logitech Profiler to map the paddles to the U and D keys, no more double shifts.

There's also Joy2Key.

D'oh !..yeah watched the vid again.  Embarrassed Mind you, its the merest of overlap onto the verge with one wheel for such a violent change of direction !  Lips Sealed

What a crap way to exit a toughly fought race for 45 minutes  Sad

Looks like me and Pseudo get the awards for 'worst race exits caught on camera' !  laugh

...and I surely get the award for most spins.   Sad

Pants driving from me, no real speed so overdrove and lost it countless times.  And no real idea how to set the car up.  There are just far too many options compared to GTL, I'm lost.   Cheesy

Mucho swearing took place on Tuesday night.

I'm sure we all make every effort to avoid contact.  Does this mean we will all receive reduced penalties from now on??  whistling
