A definate awful return to racing, I hope I can do better than this in future, the Porker had the straight line speed but was a mare in the corners.

Race was going well, started 14th had a good pit stop and starting catching the people in front evenyually caught up to SBG who was in 6th and thats where I stayed, just wasnt a clear way past, nice driving mate  Grin  ........until my pc had enough.

Brilliant race RM and I'm gutted for you. We'll do that again, no worries Smiley

Got there an hour early to find a GT3 car that even resembled fun around Oschers (I was going to use the Viper but its about as much fun as crabs around there) and was just about to give up when I noticed a few were using the bimmer. What a revelation, its great fun and provided a very good race with Pseudo (you should notice were the start line is next time me old mucker Wink), RM, Hol and JonM . Will have to work on race setup as it felt apart after 20 mins. Thx all.

Grats to the podium. A POWER track would be nice next. Good work in getting a nice balance Dave  thumbup2

Overall a good race for me. Started on poll and went off quite quick, had a 15-20s lead but lost concentration when lapping people and put my rears on the grass where the triple apex left hander is and lost loads of time in the sand Embarrassed. Pitted on the same lap but came in a bit too eager to make up for my spin....Then got a stop go for pit lane speeding so then I came back in....And hit the barrier next to the lights in the pitlane damaging the car Embarrassed Embarrassed Thought that the race was just about over for me but kept on going. Think I was 19th at that point but others had yet to pit. Didn't have to do much overtaking to move up through the postions as other cars were pitting etc. Had some nice fights at the end with SBG Rhiegn and Jan. Was very surprised and happy to finish 5th. Was nice to get a race under the belt.

3rd official S8 race I'm in, 3rd battle for victory in the last laps, 3rd time I lose it Angry

This race was so exciting, my first laps were in 4th giving TT a very hard time. We were in the same car, +20 kg for me actually, so it was very hard to overtake. Tried several times a good exit from T2 but he kept defending the line into the next left hander. Very good driving mate Smiley

Finally I passed him and, after the leader (who waws stunningly fast!) spun, I caught leader Freq. This time was even harder to pass as the top speed difference is huge. Again tried several different lines and when I was gonna pass him in the last corner he pitted. I went 2 or 3 laps longer but rejoined behind him, so another chase until the closing stages.

With about 5 laps to go I used one mistake from him to overtake, but in the next lap I ran wide looking in the mirrors (it was scary to watch him come in the straights lol) so he retook the lead. I couldn't overtake again in the last exciting laps. Well done mate, really deserved win Smiley

Grats to all the finishers and I hope GTR manager is kept for the next races Cheesy

Hmm, not a very good start to the season despite an opening 20 minutes full of action.

Having lost Mark McClean to the T1 gravel trap I was right behind Michael Boylan's Elise and got a run on him coming out of T2. He couldn't seem to make up his mind which side of the track he wanted so I stuck my car into the car-sized gap on the left into T3, guessing at a braking point and running a bit wide on the exit having exchanged paint, after which he returned the favour running into me on the exit.

Bit of flashing from him - followed a few corners later by me getting the red-curbed chicane wrong and going into the barriers, killing the engine. :'(

Sorry, Michael - I certainly didn't mean to run into you. Embarrassed

Sorry Dave. I flashed you to say great pass, not to say anything bad about your pass, just that it was a good pass as you ran wide but managed to still hold the advantage.

EDIT: Just checked replay Dave and I just drove down the middle to turn 3 whilst you went to the left. You braked and ran wide and so I switched back and we swapped sided. We then exited the corner fairly close but there was no contact on my replay and I felt nothing at the time. Did you feel contact? Sorry if there was but I did not notice anything at the time and certainly made every effort to not touch.

I had a superb race. Early on I had a good little battle with JPS1. I kept up with him but did not have the speed to pass. I eventually passed him after he made a mistake and then had an awsome battle with PRibeiro for most of the race. He was so much quicker but my little Lotus had great exit speed and I could just hold him off to the next corner. Once I pitted that let him go and he was long gone. Then near the end, I had a great little battle with Peter Allnut. I finally made a great run on him down the main straight but thought it was the last lap and as we crossed the line I lifted off only to find there was one more lap to go.

Oh well, great great race and great driving.

Yay, I completed my goal: I wasn’t the last who reached the finish line  laugh. I have to apologize if I was on someone’s way. Sorry Ted and JPS1 about the situation where I overtook JPS1. It was totally my fault. There was nice battle in the start of the race at the back. I maybe did some aggressive moves along the race, sorry about them! I had some good fights along the race, nice racing guys. Good job everyone and grats to the podium!

Nice race that!!

I knew from the start that the 4 infront of me would probably pull away and they did so just tried to be consistant and stay ahead of the cars behind. Did a good job then TT went off and stayed ahead of him for a few laps but then he got me as i went a liitle wide. Tried to stay with him and managed for a few laps untill when i was lappin Jps1 i think he spun in front and i had nowhere to go and t-boned him ( noones fault) but not too hard so no real damage done.

Did quite a long first stint which worked quite well, after pitting i was in 6th or 7th i think and  jan duijs right behind me and he got me as my tyres were still cold. Caught back up to him and we had the closest laps ive ever had!! Could not quite get passed after some side by side driving ( Good racing mate) for 6 or 7 laps. Finally got him after he made slight mistake and pulled away and getting a good 4th.

Had one very scary moment when lapping an elise down the start finish straight, past him entering the straight but he had more top speed and contined to try and race me nearly taking us both out.

My race pace was not great but my consistancy got me a good result so very happy  Cool

Grats winner and podium.

Grats to team mate Busi, well done H@l, unlucky Boss, very unlucky RM

Qualified somewhat above my station in 9th with a PB and then duly fell back through the field after a couple of unforced errors.

The rest of the race was a really enjoyable succession of battles with various people including Picnic, Michael and API, culminating in me finishing behind them all in the end! Ah well, there's always next time. Great racing!

Ted

PS - no problems at all with the connection tonight that I noticed.

PPS -
Sorry Ted and JPS1 about the situation where I overtook JPS1. It was totally my fault.

np mate, I didn't even notice - enjoyed the battle!

Bit of a mare for me again that one Sad

Had that 'different' feel again during the race...same setup as praccy but the back end just kept overtaking the front for some reason Huh

One thing I did notice was tyre wear....all during praccy I had been managing 40 laps on a set of mediums...ending with about 28/29 wear....in the race....got to 35 laps with 35 wear.  Shocked....took me a bit by suprise.

Quote
(you should notice were the start line is next time me old mucker ),
lol...the start line wasnt the problem....I hit the talk button on the wheel instead of the limiter button Roll Eyes

Had a few good battles, sbg at the biggining then Jan Dulis later. Had real trouble with an elise (nsfast I think) near the end...could not find a way past that I could make stick. Good stuff.
The only down side was a hefty collision into the back of the elise as it stopped at the chicane to avoid a car that had gone off....sorry mate, the brakes on the verti are pretty good but there is no way I could stop intime.
That damaged my car a fair bit and it felt even more unstable so I decided to call it a day before I caused any damage.

Grats Freq....and TT......and excellent again from Busi and Gazza. Your time will come Busi...(watch out for ts trying to bribe you away from us  Grin)

Good turn out for Team Pseudo again....thanks guys  Wink

Well, hope you're happy boss!  Cool  angel

Great race. Was genuinely shocked (as in went half a second faster than ever gone before) in qually where I nicked 2nd place at the death. Ochers is so tough to pass at so I did more qually runs than normal. Grin I thought I'd be a rolling roadblock at the start but with Busi pressuring TT, I pulled a gap. Jon was long gone and I had no intention of even trying to race him as he was just so much faster, but was happy with how things where. Then Busi closed up and I thought he would breeze past, but my extra engine gave me the lifeline I needed and stopped him getting close at the end of straights. Then Jon messed up all by himself, and had exactly the problem I had at Anders in S7....long first gear, stuck in the gravel for 30 minutes  laugh

Pitted and made an 8 second lead. Busi duly closed up again and we had a cracking fight for the lead Grin. It was really, really close and I ended up making a costly error, giving him all the chance he needed to make a pass stick at the end of the back straight. He then gifted it back to me when my engine scared him!  angel

Great fighting so close, I was overdriving at times (read: off the track laugh) and thought you would snick past, but 2 laps from home you gave me some breathing space, and I could just hold on. You were easily faster , just the pitstop and qually that made it so tough for you. I went from a previous best of a 29.4 yesterday, to a 28.6 during the race today! So am really, really pleased, on what is a track that really should have seen me off the podium. Now as long as my team mate finishes some races, maybe the manufacturer points will be healthy too!  Grin

...watch out for ts trying to bribe you away from us  Grin...

I only asked to make sure you were paying him enough to buy food with, get the odd new engine etc. We know what you tightfisted pansies are like!  Roll Eyes  angel

Grats finishers, and Busi on great racing. Tough luck Jon, was your race really.  :'(

I definitely felt something, but it seemed like a fair trade given how forceful my pass was.

Mostly I'm just papa oscared with myself for throwing it off the road at the chicane - somewhere I knew I had to be careful after lowing the ride height by 5mm all round - trying to build a small gap. Still angry with myself this morning. Angry Roll Eyes

Well done FreQ on the win - emulating Alex Buncombe's real world 350Z wins in the European GT4 Cup. clap

OK no worries. Your 350Z had so much grunt compared to my little Lotus which seemed to be sliding and dancing about all race. 5mm ride height is mad. I went for the 4 x 4 setup and had 8mm SmileySmiley
