quick question, is this the same Silverstone track download & layout we have used previously? Its the (GP2000) bit in the title that caught my attention.

Yes, same as the last race we did there. The GP 2000 bit is just because with UKGPL coming on board I've been more explicit about exactly which layouts are which.

I've already done a few laps here to test the 575 out. It seems a really mixed bag here.     Very good at bits but poor at others. Turn 1 was causing me real trouble.     I will need to work on car to get anywhere near the pace needed.

Seems like avery technical circuit, with some bits that are just waiting to bite you, and catch you out Shocked

Anyone prepared to say what wing settings they're using?

Do GT1's generally require more downforce than GT2 class? ie i assume they are actually more dependant on it because of their higher top and cornering speeds ?
Im finding the Maserati very twitchy with 8 wing whereas with 10 the backside is staying in tune with the very fast directional changes.

I was running 2-6 but it's not the back that was the problem, just too much understeer.    I've not had anytime to go back and practice to sort things out. I'm doubt I will have time to do so before the race, so I hope grip levels really come up.      I'm also worried since playing iracing that it might be odd playing gtr2.

Rather strangely both here and at magny i'm finding a 2 front wing just creates too much understeer and and running a 1 wing setting allows me to turn-in better.

Just tried the Lister and found it quite a nice drive. Just got into the 41's offline, but I doubt I'll be able to get that online. I hope I'll be more competitive than last night though.

The different GT1 cars have quite different characteristics in terms of downforce. The Lambo isn't terribly quick in a straight line but seems to allow quite high downforce settings without big sacrifices in its top end.

I also find that with the Massa Mark, I find that increasing front ARB and keeping the springs low helps. Also when turning in I somtimes lift off the brake and throttle then reaply the throttle to snap the front end in. But you'll need to alter the diff settings depending on the turns for that to work.  I try not to do that to much, more often that not ill find my self inspecting the build quality of the barriers. Roll Eyes

P.s...I never have low wing in the massa. I just dont have the skill to drive it properly on worn tyres. I have it on 8. which is low enough in my opinion.

In my experience you can make the MC12 fast and twitchy with wing 2-8 or safer, i.e.understeery, and slower with wings at 1-11. Its obviously got pace around here but I found it impossibly unpredictable, from corner to corner let alone lap to lap, in race here last time out. Glad to hear a few of you will be in the same position Smiley
