I had a quick first practice earlier. I was putting in mid 59s. The car is forever nervous and it's a constant fight to keep it on the track. I can see races being a crash fest. This track has everything that does not suit the skip. I really think a smooth high grip track is needed to start with before progessing to all the bumps and cambers etc

Well thats 3 Skip Barber races in a row i have been done into turn 1. Starting 3rd behing Rory King and Ross McGregor. Ross gets a bad start so I am alongside, 4th place decides to go between us into Turn 1. Only one result with 3 cars side by side. The bloke spun again after we all reset and quit out so I have messaged him.

Only thing i dont get is how these divisions work, do you have to wait every 6wks to get promoted or something?
I gone from 16th to 7th in division 10 tonight.

I agree with Simon about the FF here, there seems a lot of emphasis on the bumps as opposed to the cornering forces. I do think it's a lot of fun, though. Must remember to take out the false teeth first

The bloke spun again after we all reset and quit out so I have messaged him. Yes Paul I was in that race too and lost alot of SR points due to the massive pile up that followed. I then joined the 11:15 race and guess what? yes, another pile up at T2, this time involving 7 cars. The 7 of us reset and the other 6 were placed on the lead lap but it dropped me a lap behind them again for some reason, which is slightly annoying as well. I then later got hit with 4x contact twice without hitting anything..... mmm let me see, yes that's annoying too. My SR is now taking a hit in every race and soon it will be back down below 4, which will force me back into the Solstice.....mmm let's see - very annoying. At that point I will certainly not be doing timetrials just to get my rating back, especially when I have not casued a single incident or hit anything since I started iracing. Glad I only paid for a month. I wil continue to race it until my SR drops back below 4 and then its in the recycle bin

As a rookie he needs to be above 4 to race the skippy though. If you drop below 4 then you go back to 3.6, so don't go there! If necessary put in a couple of qually sessions and just cruise round to get your SR up again. Sounds daft and in many ways it is, but it makes sense if you are anywhere near dropping through the 4 barrier.

...as a general rule-of-thumb, it might be a good idea to avoid the Sunday and Monday races as folk (re)learn the circuit. LR is particularly bad I think, as you can only really pass safely on the main straight (unless you time your attack to perfection and get past before the next corner).

You can call me stubborn Paul, but I'm not going driving round in circles just so that I can get back to where I was. I've got to wait 10 weeks afaik to get a license so the chances are that even if I get my rating back up I'll end up losing it again anyway. Maybe NK 1.03 will be out by then ...as a general rule-of-thumb, it might be a good idea to avoid the Sunday and Monday races as folk (re)learn the circuit.
You may have a point Steven, I was in a couple of clean races last week which I really enjoyed, but then as soon as it changed to Limerock it became a disaster. I'll probably be racing on Thursday night so fingers crossed

I've just done a race at Lime Rock and it was clean, granted there were spinners that allowed me to make up places, but there was no madness going on - I was able to complete all 31 laps withount an incident
