Moderator's Report

Server replay time: 206s

Spanner passes Sandor at the hairpin but the Falcons power sees Sandor back infront by the braking zone for the chicane.
Sandor does move back over to the racing line a little too soon and almost imediately has to hit the brakes for the turn. This gave Spanner little or no time to react and the inevitable rear contact occured.
This incident would have been avoidable if Sandor had stayed on the line he had passed on and not moved back over to the racing line directly in front of Spanner.

Server replay time: 862s

Dan is lapping Jimmer (racepace) and catches him on the aproach to the hairpin. Dan goes to the right to make the pass but Jimmer seems to lose the rear end of his car slightly and this sends him to the right also.
Just an unfortunate event that ended with no harm done to either party.

Racing incident.

Server replay time: 897s

Sandor, in a falcon, was much faster down the s/f straight than Legzy but did not gain quite enough on him to attempt a pass before T1. Sandor seemed to realise this a little late and hit the brakes in an attempt to avoid contact, but he had left it a little late and clipped the rear quarter of Legzy's car.
No damage was done and Legzy kept his place.

Server replay time: 1047s

Not quite as simple this one.
Again Sandor is faster aproaching the chicane and brakes slightly later to get on the inside of Legzy. Whilst this move was possibly not the ideal place to try an outbraking manouver in a Falcon vs a 'Tina, Sandor does actually get around 1/3 overlap legitimately and therefore has every right to be where he was.
Legzy actually moves right, almost blocking Sandors move, a fair bit earlier than he has done on previous or following laps and turns onto the apex normally leaving no room whatsoever for Sandor and forcing him into the tyre wall.
**NOTE**
Passing and being passed appoaching corners, the critical moment is the turn in point, not the braking point. The earlier the overlap the better, of course, but if the intent is telegraphed with an early move and a reasonable overlap achieved before the lead car gets to the point where it has to turn in, that should be good enough in a gentlemanly racing environment.

  • Legzycaution — Closing the door on a car with overlap
For advice only - unreported by victim, so penalty disregarded

Server replay time: 1344s

Racepace is being lapped by Ade (who gives him a nudge in the chicane). Rp accelerates away normally and starts to move to the right when he realises Ade is still there, so he straightens up and lifts slightly to allow the slower accelerating car through.
This move caught Syd a little by suprise and he tagged the rear of RP's car sending him onto the grass. Syd then moves wide and accelerates away but unfortunately gets a wheel on the grass which sends him into a spin. Both Geoffers and RP are close and have to slow substantially to avoid Syd's car.
Evert is aproaching up the hill under full acceleration but shows no sign (no lift/braking etc) of any awareness or caution to the incident ahead and runs full tilt into the back of RP.

Racepace, whilst trying to do the right thing by assisting a lapping car through, caused a few other problems with his actions. ONLY lift off when it is safe to do so....unfortunately, the lapping car will just have to wait :)

Upto then I would consider this a racing incident.
However Evert's lack of caution must be penalised...regardless of who may be the initial cause of an incident you CANNOT aproach an incident under full throttle causing additional mayhem.

LOL, just a warning before hand, Germans like to lie in self dug holes, they are not dead however Wink. But, be my guest in poking them with a stick Tongue.

No I don't agree. This is about racing etiquette which is not something you should get penalised for having or not having. It's down to the moral fibre of the individual.
Unlike accidents caused by bad driving which I would have no problem reporting.

Ok, but first point here is that as we have said on numerous occasions, the incident report system is not there as a primary source of PUNISHMENT, but as a tool to help highlight and help rectify any instances of errors, bad driving, lack of etiquette or simple rule breaking. The 'Moral Fibre' that you mention....I bet yours differs from mine and mine differs from Jeff's and SBG's differs from Dave's etc etc etc.
There are a set of rules and guidelines that we all have read and understand, these cover race etiquette and what level of conduct is expected and required, so if you, or anyone else feels these are not being adhered to then incident reports should be made without hesitation....how else can the mod team try to rectify them?

My second point is,
Quote
If I accidently hit another car and they lose it as a consquence
....even accidently hitting another car should be reported....especially if it then causes a 'loss of etiquette' from the involved driver. An Accident is an incident after all and should be reported as such....once again not with the intention of handing out a penalty, but to highlight the how's why's and wherefor's of the accident and try to prevent a recurrance.

I myself got a CTD decided to call it a night
Got CTD-ed twice during practice
but when I went to the grid it CTD.
I got the CTD in praccy and rejoined somewhere in a swamp
Same here... somehow I hit rock bottom
I also got CTD'd twice in practice. Never happened to me before at any track. Got in a right panic when it was happening that I might miss the race!

That was related to the lack of garages I guess? Thats entirely down to me I'm afraid, sorry. I did mention that I was unhappy that some lost out and wondered if something should be done as a result but, as no one has commented, I guess we are happy for result to stand. Its a shame that a lot of the add on GB tracks have limited garages (realistic  Huh) even though they can accommodate large grids. We could keep entries number higher knowing the race will be ok but we believe the grief that happened last night is best avoided so will limit grids in future. If it goes any lower than 25, which hasn't happened yet, we will not use that track.

No worries Jimmer, like I said, it was a tight track and hard work for the lapper and the lappee.

I can't remember whether it was you, but I did get in a right pickle lapping someone, meant to flash the lights, left them on, then thought I'd engaged the pit limiter cause the car stopped accelerating, changed my LCD mode several times as I forgot all the button mappings in the heat of the moment and finally after some seconds realized I hadn't changed up from 3rd to 4th and that was why I'd stopped accelerating.  Doh! Grin  Total senior moment, panic set in.

So the 'lights on for ages' wasn't actually intentional.

Just to say sorry to anyone who got involved with my spin on the second lap. I got a back wheel on the grass & around the Falcon went & unfortunately ended up in the middle of the track. I think Pseudo & Spanner were two that got involved, sorry guys. So for the second week running I had to work my way back up the field, only managing 10th this week though, & that was courtesy of Syd running out of fuel on the last lap!

Apart from the spin it was a good race, thanx all.

Cya at Watkins Glen.

Can I post a report.... I think I cracked a rib laughing as No Brake Drake shot past my other half at 'this is going to hurt' speed just before the jiggly bit (technical term) causing him to soil himself slightly!!!

@ Gothwitch, I think your report's should be compulsory reading after every race.
