I for one was glad to see you stick to your favoured car Dave, in spite of the fact it was off pace here. Otherwise it would have been just a Cobra/Elan fest.

As we use ALL class cars in GTL enduro, I think it would be good to introduce the car change penalty as in GTR2 to make folk stick to the same car each class race. We still get the variety through sprints.

They do... if they're up against some more evenly matched opposition.

I even spun last night when distracted by Tib's rotating Cobra, most unlike me when running alone on the track.

Please don't do this. If you want to mix up the field a bit just prohibit the popular cars on a per race basis.

Seconded, part of the difficulty for me is the wide range of choice of cars at each circuit and the time it takes to decide which you think you will be quickest
in and then spending time improving the set up!

I for one tried at least 6 different cars before deciding on the Elan!

However I would say that I would actually like to get to grips with things like the cobra etc. but will never choose it unless forced to do so as I
currently can only be consistently slow and eratic in it!

Lets face it it is rare for the Elan to be the car of choice!

My Prodigy team-mates will testify that I have stated to them that it is my intention this season to deliberately chose cars that I probably would not normally consider, hence the TVR last night. In the end it didn't work out to bad for me. But on a personal level I have a huge amount of satisfaction from perservering with what was at times a real love/hate relationship.
If I had to choose a car for a whole season I wouldn't even begin to consider a "hard" car. In fact wouldn't everyone choose the easy options?

Then ended back running with Legzy and Evert but couldnt quite get back on terms as i was sliding too much.
It was odd that we were kind of together then you seemed to disappear for a while & suddenly you were back again (like a bad smell  Wink ). But you got me in the end, I got my third cut track warning with about two laps to go & it cost me two positions  Sad
Still, I would definitely have taken 12th spot before the race & was over the moon to manage about 40 mins before my 1st spin (that's amazing for me). If only my team-"mates" ahead had not misunderstood my team orders to make sure they finished behind me. They were kind enough not to lap me on the final lap home straight  Grin Well done team Oldie! (& the podium guys)

maybe something to think about car-choice and endurance racing to get as many different cars in the field.

What if every driver from a team has to pick a different car ?

Just for example Team Oldie Racing .
4 drivers, and all were driving the Elan .
If they were forced to pick a different car there would be a larger variety in the field.
When they still pick the same car, the slowest one will get a no-point finish .

Would make the championship a lot more interesting.

laugh nice idea....but there aren't enough cars to give ALL the prodogies a different one  angel laugh

Not really likely to be changing anything....I just don't like to see a full field of just one or two car types because they are the most competetive ones....I much prefer to see a wider range on track....just looks so much better.

I must say I did enjoy the race last night. I wish there was more days in the week to make time for racing gtl too.      I'm afraid my grasp of this game is very limited, think that was my 3rd ever race and offline my game is only 6% complete.      I don't have an understanding of what car is what and still not got around to unlocking all the cars. What is the cheat again?         Once I stole a couple of Simons set ups I was ok driving the 275 and healy, but thought I'd go with the Lotus.    I put practice in using the Lotus completely unaware that it was going to be the car of choice.    I will try and make some time to practice using other cars to get the grasp of them before the next time I appear.

Couldn't disagree more.  Hit with a wet fish
I've basically driven very few of the cars in the game & I was determined to use the corvette here (having used the Abarth instead of the Falcon last week). I practiced & practiced with it & was getting quite competitive in it too. Then I realised I was in the '76 Corvette, gutted!
So after that as you can see, I tested a few others: Cobra / TVR / Elan / Corvette '65 / Alpine (was a very comfortable/consistant drive & would have been my 2nd choice for the race but was some 5 seconds per lap slower in this then I was in the Elan).

So after lots of testing I figured that the Elan was the best bet for me from the cars available for this race. It does not mean that I will necessarily want to drive it at the next GTC-65 Enduro.
I think that if you limited everyone to one car for the Enduro season you're handicapping us newer/slower drivers more as we need all the help we can get to stay anywhere near you faster chaps! Maybe if there is an obvious car choice for future races, the guys at the top of the championship might avoid picking that car? (Like Ginsters demonstrated last night, in can be done & I bet he worked hard for that win)

Currently I can get to pick the 'best fit' for my driving level on the chosen track, that's the way I hope it remains even if the cars choice is reduced slightly.

My computer went Kaput late on Monday.  Took opportunity to upgrade, graphics card failed - went for a multi cpu, 4M RAM and a 8800 GT.  Frame rate (Ctrl F) varied between 74 fps on the start finish straight and 103 fps out in the country.

Didn't get much time to practice until yesterday evening.  Screwed up the start (more interested in the start frame rate, 64 fps) and stalled.  Other than that an uneventful race.  Lost 2 places (Alex and psuedo) when my wife distracted me and I had to go down the escape road.  Had an off trying to catch up before I settled down again.  Had a long pit stop for repairs and rejoined the race over a minute behind and ahead so I had a steady drive to the finish.

Well, there was a fair splattering of cars last night and fair play to the gents that chose the less competitive cars Smiley I would be in favour of leaving it as it is for enduro as that is why we setup in the first place. I, and I don't think I'm alone here, choose the car I have most fun with on that track and don't worry about the scores as much as the sprints, last night it was the Cobra but I'm sure I'll use the Healey somewhere down the line (if only to prove I'm the fastest  Wink ). Think it should be remembered that the GTC65 prolly has the biggest performance gap and ideally could be split into two divisions which might be an idea for S7. The 76'ers will be closer next time and I'll be in the GT40 or McClaren anyways  Smiley

Forgot to mention that standards amongst the leaders and those that I lapped were excellent last night. Lets keep that up  Smiley

Just out of interest I wonder what car the Elan drivers would have chosen had the Elan not been available?

Another thought for S7 Enduro's could be that you can only drive each car once, so for example I couldn't drive the Elan again in the rest of the Enduro season. Therefore mixing the cars up but I could plan to choose the Elan when I need it the most. It seems funny talking about s7 after one (great) race in s6.

Just out of interest I wonder what car the Elan drivers would have chosen had the Elan not been available?
