Very surprised at the result, by far my best result in my very few GTL outings.

Never managed a clean lap in qualification. Was having a flyer and was not too amused chasing a car that had just left the pit lane. He ended up ruining my lap and then blocked me tripping over another back marker on the last bend.

Started 5th and I was soon up to 3rd. Madd-Rip was putting me under lots of pressure but I was determined to try and hold my own. Madd had a spin and the was me in the clear.

The two cobra were well gone by this stage but I kept pushing on. The gap between me and the 2nd cobra began to come down and it was clear Madd was catching me too.

Madd caught and got the run on me, so I had no option but to leave the door open and he was gone.

The 2nd Cobra suffered a disco and that was me back into third.

I made my pit stop the lap after Madd and made a huge amount of time on him. I opted for a splash of fuel and no tyres.

After the pit stops SBG was gone and I had a good lead over Madd in third.

I well chuffed with 2nd.

Sad what makes it more annoying Brian is I made sure about the fuel and still ran out, that's why you probably got so far in front, although I bet your tyres were shot!
Nice scrap though.

A race of ups and down, running well early on with some good racing but I seemed to be trying to get back to where i should have been after getting tangled up with other people especially those a lap down Sad Then ended back running with Legzy and Evert but couldnt quite get back on terms as i was sliding too much.

I think it was only the last maybe 6 laps the tyres were struggling and I was dropping about 2.5 secs a lap. Until then my lap times were consistent.

Gutted for you Undecided There's always next week Smiley

If you need to test anything/any help in meantime just shout here. Pracci server is running 24/7.

Won't be there if it's Starforce since there's only one way to "fix" that and I am NOT having that on my system again. Not after last time.

Very disappointed. But maybe I can join the GTR2 league if I'm welcome there.

Mixed bag for me!

Found a last minute sweek to my set up that worked wonders!

Up to about 5th in the first few laps, with some very close racing!
Eventually stuck behind keith's very wide F275!
Great close racing but I eventually made a very small error and gave keith a little bump out of the last corner!
Pulled over to let him rejoin but no sign!? Eventually rejoined back in 12th very puzzled!
Made good progress back up the field and was very surprised to meet Keith half way through the race!?
Not sure what happen? in that case! may be you saved the potential spin and carrried on! Oh well! sorry anyway, my fault!

Put in some reasonable lap times and was up to 4th with a very late pit stop that left me 5th.
Pushed hard with worn tyres but team mate tinman was closing fast!
Kept him at bay until the last couple of laps until Tinman asked for warp factor 3 !  Grin
He was flying and it was all I could do to keep in front, relieved that it was not a lap longer race!

Team Oldie 5th, 6th and 11th !? not too shabby for us! oldies!  Wink

Thanks all, a great fun close race as usual.
Great start to the season!

Good to see Ruskus' ghost is still alive with those maniac cobra's at the front!
How do they do it!?

No one said there was an updated Ferrari 250!

I would advise you to have another read.....it has been said a few times.

Not got the latest Ferraris, so won't be able to race, my dl speed too slow at Filefront.

It has been available for a good few weeks....even a very slow download would have been able to get it in time.  Wink had they done the above... laugh

Mmm, seems I missed all the talk about it on the Crystal Palace thread as I was away on holiday & didn't read it Roll Eyes. Sorry.

Don't have to say sorry mate, these things happen and are unfortunate. As one of the mod team, all i can say is we are sorry if folk miss out.....we try our best to ensure all info is available to everyone but sometimes it is overlooked and sometimes we don't think to say it again, when it may be appropriate to do so.

anyway...results and replay available above

Really enjoyed that  Grin didn't expect to get third  Shocked  kept it clean for the whole race yes for a change. made a mess of the pit stop Huh tried to move up and down the pit board and my seat just moved back and forth  Cheesy remind me to sort those buttons out,   had to settle for new rubber and hope the fuel would last. not used to saying this, but the back markers were great when being lapped thumbup2 bad luck Madd-rip and pribeiro with the fuel shortage, it is rather expensive these days Wink saw the cry for help pribeiro and drove past on the second to last, didn't fancy pushing you round for a full lap  Cheesy tried to give you a push on the last lap but you wouldn't budge, sorry i couldn't help  Sad

I've had Starforce on 2 PCs and never had any problems with it. Undecided

I am very happy for you. I hear this all the time. That doesn't mean other people don't. I've never seen a Russian. Doesn't mean Russia doesn't exist. Both myself and my best mate back in the UK had some very serious issues. We are not neophytes to computers. I have even done a ton of research into Starforce for a piece I wrote way back in 2005. The information on how it works, and the issues it can cause, are all out there online. I could go into long, explicit details, but I'll spare folk. Anyone who wants to know can PM me.

One thing did occur: Is there ANY chance this could be the difference between the UK and US release? The version I have was bundled with GTR2 when I bought it. I recall GP3 having this issue. The US version wouldn't work with the UK version. I have a friend who has done exactly what I did with GTL: Blown the dust off their GTL disk, installed and copied the unprotected stuff over the top, and he can race online just fine. I can't. So clearly there is, potentially, some other issue at work here.

I'm tempted to grab the DVD image and try installing from that. Maybe somewhere deep in it's bowels there is a difference that is causing this. I really want to join this league as slinging old cars about for an hour or so every week is... Well I don't think I've been this excited since my first race in GPL all those years ago.

I'll keep plugging away, see if I can sort this out, but Starforce is NOT an option under any circumstances.

I am still hopeful I will get to see you fine folk on track.

Don't want to seem intrusive, however,

I'm noticing on the Season point totals so far this year, that 7 people scored points when they shouldn't have (The ones who didn't finish the race) - Based on my original idea on how to place points in Enduros

Were the point totals automated or were they manually entered?

What a totally odd race - gained a couple of places at the start from people who can't count down from 3 (or who are silly enough to not have the big countdown timer), then promptly proceeded to watch absolutely everything on track obliterate my little Healey down the front straight. The Elans were quicker. Everything else was stupidly quicker.

Spent the middle 60% of the race pottering round, seriously contemplating giving up as I had nobody at all to race. After my stop I came out just ahead of the cars I'd been trying to hang on to earlier, which meant that unless their stops went very wrong I was now a long way down. Undecided

Kept plugging away and eventually caught API and Keith who repeatedly went off and then repassed me on the front straight. That was just so frustrating but I had the last laugh finishing ahead of both after Keith went off on the penultimate lap and I built enough of a gap to beat him to the line.

If I'd known the Healey was going to be so hopelessly off the pace I wouldn't have bothered TBH. Roll Eyes
