I will be racing in this one. Having not taken part in a Gtc sprint yet my car choice is open.      I really like the Morgan but think I might go for a change. Either mosler or tvr for me.

Has everyone forgotten about this one?    Still not sure about car choice. Both the TVR and Mosler feel planted here whilst the Morgan is a bit of a handfull here, but great fun sliding about.

Poor 1st race for me.
Qualified 3 seconds slower than my pb.
Wasnt impressed. :'(
Race was terrible, ended up touching the grass with my near side rear which sent my fish tailing across the track and slamming into the barrier.
Received a rear puncture, which in turn gave me no drive.
Oh well,better luck next time.
And it was my 1st race for about 6 months

Did my usual race really. Qualified 8th I think and just started off steady, made virtually no mistakes and gradually built up my speed, passed Ade on lap 1 and then saw Pseudo with his bucket and spade gift me another place. Status quo for a while after that, but when Steve behind me started getting under a second I thought I'd better go a bit faster, which to my surprise made me start catching Mark M and Purdie in their Porsches ahead. Eventually I caught Mark and within a couple of laps I'd sussed out where to get by and when and after doing my test manoever the lap before on the opposite side I went to the side I really wanted the next lap.

After I passed Mark I closed the gap to Purdie and on the last lap I was right behind him, thinking there was one more lap to go so I was planning on "doing him" on the last lap and nabbing 4th! LOL! Gonna have to have a word with the time-keeper to make sure he gets a proper stop-watch next time! Wink

I was trying to be really easy on the right hand corners to prevent left front tyre wear as it was shooting up fast, but it wasn't really working as I finished a shade under 30 wear on the front. Could have been so much higher if I'd been pushing hard the whole race though so I guess it worked to some degree as I was quicker than people around me at the end enabling me to take one place.

Well done to Mo on the win!

Had a good qualification and managed a 1.30.7 in the damp. Not my best time as 1.29s were well within my grasp in the dry.

Happy to take pole by over a second.

I made a mess of the first lap and lost the back end and that was Mo in the lead.

I gave chase for a number of laps and the gap remained consistent at about 1 second. After another wobble that was Mo 4 seconds up the road.

I was trying really hard but could not get anymore performance from my car. After the road dried I noticed that the tyre wear was already at alarming rates.

In an effort to save the front left, I did not drive too hard around the second to last bend as I thought was the corner that was doing the most damage.

I then decided to push as hard as I could and no matter how hard I pushed, Mo always seemed to have that extra turn of speed. Once the backmarkers came into play I managed to close the gap a bit but my tyres were completely finished.

Wear was already in the 30s(finished 35) and Mo was able to ease away for a deserved win. Grats Mo.

Hanging on for dear life at the end JPS - really glad to reach the flag just ahead.
Made one bad mistake by double downshifting on the last corner and gave 6 seconds away to make the end of the race interesting.
Well raced again.

Well I've never been that far of the pace in ages, that came as quite a shock. My first race with the RS and even so I didn't expect to be last.  Shocked

Given that I decided to not bother about racing people and just work on putting in clean lap after clean lap, which apart from one punt in the rear as I tried to give someone space to get past  Roll Eyes , I was able to.

Full marks to JPS who waited and waited for his chance to get by me and took his chance when it came. I'd already decided not to try and defend the postion if he went for it, but the patience shown as great on his part.

Thanks for the track time.  Smiley

Another double downshift robbed me of a few places  Sad (hence the bucket n spade)

Qually was ok..6th. but about a second down on my race lap times last time here (prolly due to damp)

lost a couple of places early doors to the extra grunt of the porkas down the straight, but I wasn't too concerned as I had gone with mediums all round so I knew tyre wear wouldn't be a problem (15 front left wear at the end) and fully intended making use of them when the porkas were down to rims later.

But the ddshift put paid to that idea Sad

One more lap and I would have prolly got passed Mark...caught him easily towards the end (although I nearly lost it a few times trying to find my turn in points through his tyre smoke  Grin)

Ah well 8th isn't too bad considering.

Grats to Mo and the podium.

The very bottom of the U8LS page describes today's race as non-championship. I don't know why.
