I see Clubman's runs the same schedule as Division 1 but 1 week later. Perhaps it would be an idea to flip this so Clubman's is run first. People could use the Clubman's race to get up to speed in a less intense race environment. Changing them round would probably make Divison 1 more competititve through the field and also boost numbers in Clubman's. If my application for Division 1 is successful I probably wouldn't want to do Clubman's the week after, but I would if it was the week before.

Cheers

Depends on your ambitions really SC.

If you want to give Hristo a run for his money in Div 1 then a pracy run in Clubmans could be useful.

On the other hand, those who are targetting the Clubmans honours will welcome the chance for a trial run in Div 1.  Grin

It is what it is but NASCAR run the Busch series on the day before the Winston (Sprint) Cup for a reason.

The reason we did it that way is because the beginners 65 race is on the first Tuesday.  That would give the newbies a run out in the 65s in preparation for a race in the 67s the following Sunday.  I admit the 67s are a bit different to the 65s but the on-line experience (watching mirrors, being conscious of warp etc) is the same.  Bearing in mind that most, but not all rounds, are at the same circuit.

What we haven't published yet is the list of interleague races Jack O'Ferrall is organizing.  These will be run at 8:30pm on the second Sunday i.e. just before the Clubmans.  We'd expect the fastest drivers in Div 1 to be selected to represent UKGPL, although it depends on the opposition.  We may agree to field a team of mixed abilities.  So if you're quick enough to be in Div 1 you'll probably be in the interleague race.  We can only run interleague races on Sundays because of the potential time differences (for example we couldn't possibly race against an Australian league on a weekday).

The other factor to consider is the Historic Trophy with the 66 cars.  A lot of Div1 drivers also do the Historic, so running Div 1 on the first Sunday and the Historics on the second Tuesday gives the maximum number of days between them to make the transition between car sets as easy as possible.

I'm sure there are lots of other permutations we could have considered but given the plethora of combinations drivers may choose there is no perfect system.  As Clive said it all depends on the driver's ambitions as to which order suits best.  We're not all doing the same combinations.

I've posted a vote but thought I'd better post in the thread to say I'm in.

Aiming for a top 10 finish this season.
