Had a quick play now. The tyre model has definitely changed from Race '07 - it still feels slightly artificial but not so much, very different from GTR2 for sure.

Aston felt very understeery but I didn't spend any time tuning it. GT2 Corvette felt good once I tuned out the huge understeer from the default setup. Gumbert is mad fun but didn't like the Koenigsegsegsegseg much.

Lights still don't really work and there's no night racing; haven't tried wet yet but I presume it's just like Race'07. I couldn't persuade my pit crew to add any fuel either in practice mode - perhaps it works in a race.

It's built very much as an addon to Race 07 - when you start it you get the R'07 video and then a GTR Evo one, and once in the game it's got red menu text but is pretty miuch the same, and all the R'07 cars and tracks are available, plus the 'Ring.

Race '07 Evo would've been a more appropriate name! But that's hardly a surprise. I suspect the GT2 type cars are probably the best fun and produce the closest racing, though I haven't tried the WTCC Extreme cars yet.

Hmm, so as expected this is based on RACE 07, not GTR2. In which case I have no interest in it and won't be buying it I'm afraid, although the working wipers might tempt me back Wink.

So, it is what it says it is...an addon for race 07.. Sad....damn shame, I was hoping they may have started turning back towards the GTR2 style.

If its not too expensive I will give it a whirl....still optermistic it could be the start of something better Undecided

Don't get me wrong - the sportscars are rather well done and IMHO feel better (more natural) than any of the Race '07 cars. I went back and drove a Caterham to make sure I wasn't imagining it and that felt artificial and just "wrong" in comparison. Even the WTCC Extreme cars are quite good fun - though don't feel as natural as the proper sportscars.

Whilst the cars feel different from GTR2 in some respects they now feel more "right", although it's still a bit too easy to rescue a car once you get badly out of shape.

The ability to set pit stop 'presets' is very useful as is the ability to start telling the crew what you want done a few laps before your stop is something GTR2 could really do with. Pity there's no night racing.

Is that in relation to GTR2 or to the other cars in Race07 ie  do they feel better than GTR2?

Compared to GTR2 the tyres break away more progressively - I think GTR Evo has given the tyres excessive grip at more extreme slip angles, but if you drive 'normally' there's more feedback than in GTR2.
