First of all grats Pseudo for his first win and TT for second.

I started on pole and felt confident knowing I was going on medium tyres and some were considering softs.

For the first few laps of the race I opened up a gap of 5 seconds or so and was feeling quite comfortable. Suddenly for lap after lap Bob and TT were matching me for lap after lap.

As soon as my tyres hit wear 12 they were suddenly like glass and Bob was reeling me back in and there was nothing I could do.

With about 7 minutes to go the gap was down to 1.5 seconds, but I thought I would make my car as wide as possible to defend lead.

Coming out of the slight sweeping right hander the car just did not turn, understeered so much I clipped the board and spun. I could see Bob and TT racing right at me and I just tried to keep rolling backwards and not make contact. It worked, just.

I've never experienced tyre wear like that. At the end of the race the tyres were only at 26-28 and I've had worse, but I had zero grip. My lap times were 4-5 seconds per lap slower and Mark McLean was closing in.

My car was completely dead and I've no idea why.

No taking away from Bob and TT, we raced on the same track and their cars and driving were better.

Grats to you two.

Must say though, that is the worst track I've used in GTR2 and think that was a big reason for such poor turnout.

Very pleased with my race tonight.  Smiley

My highest finish so far. I like this track. I think offers the opportunity for some very close racing.

The race started well with me extending the gap to 5th consistently throught the first half of the race. However, once I noticed that Mark McClean had got up to 5th place I knew I was in trouble. Despite my best efforts he was closing up on me at around 2secs per lap at one stage. I had hoped to put up some resistance once he caught up....but bottled it straight away on the final turn and gave him an easy pass.

From then it was a case of relax and watch the laps go by.

Special congrats to Pseudo on his first win. Thanks to the organisers.

congratulations on your win Psuedo   Cool

Nobody else had stutter problems then ?  Sad

Is anyone who joined late (qually) using a modded version of GTR2?...ie got the recent FIA or ALMS mod installed?  Only asking because it all went pear shaped when someone joined, almost like their car had bad textures/poly count etc and noticed one or two cars with standard skins...just clutching at straws really as my internet speeds were fine.

Looks like we need a recruitment drive  Undecided the grids have got steadily smaller lately. I'd hate to lose our GT racing  :'( cant believe they've all gone to IR, considering the low global numbers on that. Undecided

Grats, princes Peypey for your first win!  Cool  You said it all in your post, I was ever close but not close enough. Well, maybe on your nervous last lap, I was really hoping you will hold the pressure, would be a shame if you lost it. Grats again.  Smiley  Bad luck for Brian, MAN I was scared when I was comming closer to your car!  eek

I had no problems with FPS or anything, MJ.  Undecided

I noticed Brian ....flickered...on the odd occasion when I was close to him tonight..didn't seem much at the time, but I have just watched the replay and his car seems to be lagging/flickering quite severly on that.

I commented to Gizmo that my frame rates appeared OK, 70 odd yet the game felt like it was running at 20. I had huge dark shadows over the start finish line too, yet couldn't see the stand I guess they came from  Undecided

Horrible, Horrible, Horrible, Horrible, Horrible, place.....I will be so glad when this ones over....Unless there are any Kart mods going about we can use.  Wink

Hate to see what will happen when you LIKE a track  Grin

Congrats to you and other pods.

Shocked at 5th in qually only an hour or so after d/l the track. I was never going to hold that but the early laps were really fun as many places and the odd bit of paint were traded. Car handling went off badly in the second half and once Dave got past there was no more racing for position just survival to the end on 4 tyres with wear of over 30.
Sorry to Picnic as my sideways antics at the last corner must have been off-putting to say the least.

I've got a little confession to make. I was playing with the game with the 06 mods installed. I did make a different install but I had been practicing with 06 mod and I did not restart with other install.         I never realised it would cause problems. I thought if anything it would be me who had issues and apart from a couple of fps hits my game was fine.       I can only apologise to Mark and anyone else that had problems due to me and know better for the future.

Ah i knew it was something like that ! as it only went wrong when someone joined.
A car was flickering to me on track. There was a car in a standard skin looking odd too...or was that you/same car again?

I demand Brians 3rd place and he be dropped to last  Wink  Grin

Why wasn't it the same for all of us then?  Huh  I'll never understand this cyber world.  Roll Eyes

I thought Mr. P was gonna be close, but not so close - he was 1 sec behind the other day on the server. Good progress, Psuedo, congrats again. Your win was announcing itself in the last few races and it was bound to happen sooner or later.  Smiley

First win is always special, something to remember. I recall mine which was graciously granted by Leuven in NGT Donington in the times of GTR1. I remember Leuven was very patient and fair even after I bumped into him once or twice.  Cheesy

I could never get to the end yesterday with soft tyres, even meds were worn more than 20 - all four. It was funny to see how different and consistent we were on different parts of the track. I usually gained some tenths in the first few corners and Psuedo was faster in the last part. Lap after lap.  Smiley

Was also unusual to see Brian's car for the whole race just a hundred meters in front - that's a real novel.  Cheesy  But I guess this will be an exception that makes the rule.  Wink

First of all, sorry to JPS - I was trying to tuck up close through the left hand kink to have a go at you into the second right hander, but misjudged it and touched you - I think I came off worse and it dropped me right off our little pack for a while. Embarrassed

Clawed my way back onto the pack and slowly the lines were coming back to me, and I was figuring out how to make the Ferrari work here. Jan and JPS eliminated themselves and Picnic was unlucky to have the mother of all tank slappers take him out of the equation too; then Prof's greater tyre wear let me slip by (I was on soft fronts and medium rears, left front took a hammering but the rest were okay) and after that I just eased away.

Was starting to get into the rhythm of the track towards the end - I knew I hadn't disliked it when we did a test race here, it was just a matter of adapting my driving style to the low grip surface.

Pity about the turnout but we're getting into the late stages of the season now when weeknight races always seem to suffer. Undecided
