I think the GT3 endurance is such a superb series and the format really works. I love the variety with changable weather, dawn races, formation lap, pitstops etc. Just brilliant that a league is brave enough to have all these features. The only thing I would change is to have a more varied grid, so more Porsche's, Lotus's and Vipers and not so many Vertigo's. It was great fun racing JPS1 in the Porka last night. Still, its all brilliant still so a big thumbs up to the organisers.

I agree with you there folks.  The GT3 series has been the most fun this season.  Grin

Was a decent race for me, made a few mistakes and had a couple of moments where I double downshifted going into the chicane. Was slower than i normally had been in practice. but I was able to keep it on the track and not make any major mistakes.

Took a gamble and decided not to take fuel at the stop to get me out the pits quicker. To make sure I had enough fuel I short shifted immediately after exiting the pits with the intention of seeing what my fuel was like with 10/15 mins to go and letting rip.

This was a mistake as it became obvious that I would not be able to open up at all and might run out of fuel.  I was 20 secs in front of TT and decided that I would really! short shift to try and make it.

H@L got a stop go and came out 4 secs behind me which put an end to my fuel saving plans  Grin. I continued to short shift until he got right on my rear then I decided to battle him....fuel tank be dammed!

He got past me on the penultimate lap but was a bit slow out of the first chicane on the last lap and I did a 'Hamilton' going into the hairpin  Shocked. another great fight there H@l.

I finished with...0.1l of fuel.  whew!

Roll on the next race.  C'mon Team Psuedo we can still take the championship from those smelly fishes  Tongue......

Ditto to all comments!

Legzy and I just dont have the team resources to spend ages over set ups etc. but I have to say the Vertislow is just dull!

I need lots of loud exciting engine sounds!? I guess I could rename a few sound files to make it sounds like something else but I guess that not in the spirit!  Grin

I thought renaming sound files can cause mismatches online??

Changing the sounds doesnt affect online play. In fact many of use use addon sounds for the cars. Thinlane's sounds are definately recommended.

I'd suggest you look through the files on Nogrip as they have a few. Not sure if there is one for the Lotus, tend to be for the bigger cars.

Hang on there is thread on here somewhere..

https://www.simracing.org.uk/smf/index.php?topic=3828.0

Its a bit of an old thread though, not sure if all files are still available.

Was a good race for me again. I don't know how I keep winning these or how Busi keeps losing them, I'm usually convinced I'm on course for second until something happens!  angel

Qually was fine. Couldn't better my time so was happy with 2nd. Was sooo pleased that unlike Suzuka I didn't have a Viper behind me! My long first gear meant I had to defend off the line instead of attack, but then was OK. Busi made a weird mistake half way round lap 1 (where you looking where you were going?! lol) and I got into the lead and held it for a while. He did his usual quick stop and 2 tyre change and I stayed out. Unfortunately I need fuel and the Z is rubbish round corners, so it's always 4 new tyres for me Sad

I thought that as he pitted so early and Imola is so tough to pass on, maybe he'll get caught in traffic. TT saved my bacon Grin

After that it was just lapping and going through traffic. I got lucky passing some peeps in their own battle (this is the time having more power really helps - lapping) and Busi got really caught up in it, gifting me lots of time. But I threw most of that away when lapping Pseudo. Totally my fault as I took my eye off the track and looked at the traffic ahead and totally missed my braking point and spun at the last corner. Bugger!

Only thing to note was 2 or 3 people decided to brake/lift off on the racing line on the exit of a corner to let me by, when I was RIGHT behind them. This isn't smart for 3 reasons:
  • You lose more time letting people by out of corners instead of the way in
  • Lappers always try to get good, fast exits to draft past on straights
  • You are much more likely to be rear-ended Grin

Holding your line and being predictable is the best advice I can give. Blending out of the throttle can help - but midway through a straight, not straight after a corner!

Anyway. Know it was totally not malicious so no biggie. It was still close towards the end of the race until Busi mysteriously pitted....and then even more bizarrely gave up 3 laps from the end?! Escape is the enemy!

I'd love to talk more about other people but I hardly saw anyone else! Maybe TT for around a lap or so, and the Elise's were very fast. If I was doing another GT3, I'd definitely take an Elise! Grin

Cheers peeps

Had to jump ship on this one Sad having problems with this old plasma monitor in night races Huh it seems to think its not being used and goes into screen save mode and dims down after about 15 minutes , and I cant find a way to switch it off  so it gets bit  hard to see the track. Ill try running the game in window mode and see if that works.

another great fight there H@l.

Sure was RM  Smiley

We both pushed really hard in the last 2 laps and both made a few mistakes resulting in 3 or 4 position changes in those last 2 laps Grin As soon as one of us got in front, we made a mistake and the other driver would catch up again. laugh

Also forgot to say in my last post, I had a good battle with Zak at the start. I managed to hold him off for a few laps and we had some nice side by side moments. Smiley He soon out braked me in the final chicane and then drove off into the distance.

Looking forward to the next one.

Actually that was a bit hair rasing.. I had the speed and drafted you for that corner. but I was not sure if you would allow me room as you actually had the racing line, so from a 3rd person perspective was a "shut your eyes and pray" moment for me Smiley - but was delighted naturally to have past with all of our 4 wheels still in tact! Smiley

I enjoyed the race lots.-just a shame my schoolboy errors cost me a podium!.

 laugh

The Z3 seems to be a bit poor under heavy braking so I decided to take the safe option and that chicane is the only place where I had to watch for corner cut warnings. You were much faster than me and it was only a matter of time before you got me. Smiley
