The race password is at the top of the thread.  You've got the BT19 Brabham- post #14.

well i've just given both the BRM's a spin and i'm only .2 slower in the p261 .

the p261 feels nicer to drive being a smaller car ... now i'm wondering what car to take !

Mike's about to start the ADC server to test for the race, if you would like to practice.  The P261 might get more help from the tow..?

Just using a Brands setup here. Seems OK.

Use Steve Cloyd Watkins Glen but move the diff to 60/85 and the brake bias to whatever you usually use.

Well that's what I would do.

If you are losing it under braking go for a 60/60 or still further to 60/45

I usually find that a 45/85 stops me from spinning on the way out of corners but keep increasing the power side angle until you tame the beast.

I was enjoying that for a lap and a half. Then I bottomed out in the dip approaching the hairpin (I never tried race fuel in practice!!), hit the barrier, recovered but motor blew on the next straight! Sad

Well, I guess we got creamed. Sorry if I held any of our team up but I didn't recognise many names so ended up racing everyone. Made a good start but was on the outside of someone in T1 and I was eased off the track, so 8th to dead last. Was also pushed off at Moss after I gave Beattie or Johnson (are they our guys?) the inside line, which was a bit annoying. Also fell by myself at the right after the back stretch and a brief spin in T2.

Apart from that (none of which cost me much time except for the T1 thing) I had a blast. The Cooper was a lot more powerful that a few other cars there tonight - although it seemed a bit ponderous in the turns. Nevertheless, I was able to hang with a few guys through the slow complex onto the backstretch then outpower them up the hill. That was good.

Guys,

Just a note to say Thank You for inviting us (The Average Drivers Club) to be part of this Inter League race series.

It generated a lot of interest within the Club, and there was a lot of competition for our 9 Team places. The ADC exists for enjoyable racing, without the pressure of league points at stake, but it is nice once in a while to have something to aim for. I hope that you enjoyed racing our "Average" drivers and I'm sure we would be delighted to repeat this event at a future date, if invited to do so.

Please feel free to drop in and see us anytime on the Speedgeezers forums.

PS

I'm now free for UKGPL selection, on any of the other 66 races, says he putting his other skid lid on Cheesy

I've posted the results.  Congratulations to ADC and Stu, and thanks to Mike for organising the ADC side and providing the server.  Also well done to Lorenzo for his fastest lap and to Phil as captain, and all the UKGPL team that took part.  The replay will be posted here: http://forums.speedgeezers.net/index.php?showtopic=27685&st=0  The meeting seems to have gone very well, both sides had full teams and hopefully we'll be able to repeat the match next season.

The points margin was 89-54.

ADC 6 finishers 18+17+16+15+13+10= 89 pts
UKGPL 5 finishers 14+12+11+9+8= 54 pts

ADC were very fast, that T1F might be too quick compared to the real car, but not that quick.  Also, Clive should re-title his thread UKGPL vs the World ft. Paul Skingley's Ferrari as it seems he intends to race it against us a few times more... is this what I have to look forward to when I retire as membership secretary?

However, ADC have also had more experience with the 66 mod than we have, and it was unfortunate that Lorenzo couldn't get enough qualifying time to break their hold on the front of the grid.  We're used to the UKGPL championship system, which often puts faster drivers in slower cars, and might not be good tactics for these races?

Why do the results not have the server on, is it something we could adopt?

Not my best of races  Huh
Good fun though while it lasted, and I acheived a new PB in the 66's during qualifying  Grin

That McLaren is wierd though, Lovelly handling at the start of the race on cold tyres. Good handling and grip for the next 5-7 laps on warm tyres.
Then it goes to pot for 10 laps or so (felt like forever!) when you've used roughly half the fuel.
Then when the tyres start wearing out it's back to great handling/not so much grip for the rest of the race  Undecided

Shame I binned it as I was doing ok while it remained on the black stuff!  Grin

Average Drivers Club - Yeah right!  Wink Grin
