How do you fire your pit(s)crew? Lost two places there.  Angry
Had some close laps with Mike Hammer in first and with RM in second stint. RM lost his rear about 15 min to go so I came to 4th and I did the same in the last lap, lost a place.  Sad  Was a good chase, though.  Smiley

Car felt much better than in Sprint, I had less wing, but the big straight is long and the slipstream is  Shocked

Tell me about it. I put on more wing (10 on the rear) and Busi's Corvette was still leaving me behind on the straight even with a slipstream! Undecided

I expect he had wing 5 or 6? I had 9 and the performance was hugely improved (had 11 in sprint) on a straight while I saw no downside through corners. In fact, seems like I had a bit too much wing still as I always came closer to RM through the corners and was not close enough to get by before the big braking.  Smiley  And vice-versa, I had to take a defensive position several times as his MC12 had better last exit speed and was better on brakes than my bulldozer.  Cheesy  Was expecting this from Mike Hammer and his Ferrari, but not from MC12.  Undecided

LOL, I just put it down to me being rubbish, but I'm happy for the wing to be the issue. Tongue

phew, quite pleased to bag another podium in 3rd place despite all my fps woes this week.
Turned down all the eye candy and set Nvidia panel to 'performance' rather than 'quality' and that allowed my fps to creep up to low 30's but still bloody rubbish for such a high(ish) spec pc. It still meant that as soon as i had traffic around me in the corners it turned to 'jerk-a-vision' and made my braking a little haphazard, i could only really push when i had a clean track about me and then i could pump some fast laps in until lapping GT cars caught me again each time.
Qualied 3rd GT2 pipping Dave by a couple of tenths/hundreths? with my final run despite still being a second off my pb here (1:39).

First half hour of race was spent fending off a couple of Team shark cars in the form of DG and Peter. Had some good side by sides with Dave into a few corners both giving each other room to dance (could really do with trackIR in those instances!) but after a few attempts he made his move stick into T1 and got by me. Nice move.
Then Peter attacked me for a few more laps allowing DG to scamper off but i then saw Peter slide off at the uphill chicane in my mirrors and i had a breather/clean track for a few laps to chase back after DG. Alas i then got caught by some GT1s and lost a load of time with my stutter vision.
Towards mid race my rears were overcooking in the mid 30's heat and getting very oversteery under braking and i started to drop laptimes and finally span just before the final turn allowing Jan to close right up. I pitted next lap, good clean stop, just tyres, but was shocked a lap later to find myself back behind Jan by about 5-10 secs  Huh ...my stop was only 28 secs so he must have a demon pit crew!  Shocked
Chased after him like a man possessed and gave him a very hard time for many laps trying to find a way past until again a stuttering brake zone saw me run wide on a corner entry and i dropped a few secs. Chased and caught him again, only for it to happen once more  Roll Eyes
I gave up chasing 3rd at that point and thought not worth the risk with my fps issue and was surprised to then see a pall of thick black smoke emerging from Jans stranded Porsche. (most unusual to do an engine on an RSR...how did you manage that?) Unlucky mate with so few laps to go.
So i cruised over the line for a hard earned 3rd.

Well done to Gomez and DG on the other pody slots and good driving.  Cool
GT1 boys were great too considering this tricky track, good patience shown by all.

The last round should be a great battle for the top 5 with only a handful of points between us. Hope i can sort my gfx out for that.

I had it on 7 I think cause I started at the back and had to overtake a lot. So that wing difference could explain it Smiley I was pretty surprised a 550 behind me was not catching me in the straight lol

Good steady race for me!
Team mate Legzy and I were waiting for a proper 'showdown' !
and this was the closest we have got to one so far!
On the heavy fuel load, I was struggling for pace and Legzy crept away!
Once I was down to 70-80L then the car came back to me and I was catching him
by I guess a tenth ot two a lap!?
Really really great fun.
Unfortunately Legzy decided to destroy his front end in the wall at the last chicane
and had too pit with major damage so that was that!

Thanks all, grats to the aliens!  Wink

It was an F575 rather than F550 which I think is 5th in the straight line speed pecking order in the UKGTR car pack (Viper, Saleen, F550, Vette, F575, Lister and the MILES BEHIND Lambo). The extra 3 wing is too small to really account for the inability to even keep up in the slipstream, especially considering I would often get a better run out the last corner.

The Vette was never slow in a straight line mind you, something to do with American muscle, but heck I prefer my electrics to fail (not modelled in game, but definately modelled in my PC last night! Smiley) than my engine blow up (modelled in game). Wink Kiss

But it was really nice to see us 5 close in a row in front. wub   A mistake from either one of us meant bumping (Mike) and loss of place(s) - RM.  Undecided  Was third then when I pitted, but 5th after I came back on track.  Sad  For once I'm satisfied with Saleens performance - though much less with mine.  Roll Eyes

Was expecting this from Mike Hammer and his Ferrari, but not from MC12.  Undecided

I couldn't find grip on the final exit, so my start/finish straightline speed was pretty bad. Had to go wide midcorner, slow down to get it to turn, and try to get a good drive with a late apex, but this didn't really work that well for me. Had the left rear orange or red coming out on that straight most of the time.

A good race but not a great performance from me.  Made two mistakes, the first was at the halfway mark when the backend stepped out just after the tight chicane and hit the wall. and then later went wide letting TT past  Angry

Hit a GT2 in the pits, he started to pull out of his box just when I turned in to enter mine which lost me time.

Was a good race though, got pole in quali and was able to stay in front until my mistake. Had a lot of fun defending and trying to get past TT.

good race but i could have done much better.  Tyres felt worse at the end of the stints than they did in the sprint. I was really having to tiptoe in the last 20 mins of each stint. must be down to the higher temps i guess.

as for slipstreaming. I had quite good speed around the last corner and was able to get right on the gearbox of TT's car but as soon as I pulled out I would stop dead so to speak in the clean air. It was all about exit speed and super late breaking into turn 1.  Nearly got you going around the outside TT but I scared myself doing it  Grin

see ya at the next one

well I once again had a bad qually... its a shame as earlier on during he day I was a second faster... but these things happen I guess. - anwyay coming from 7th I was behind TT and Mad. - TT got past. but I was then stuck for several laps behind Mad who drove very well in that lister btw. but unfortunately he blocked a lot of my potential overtake moves. and surprisingly was unable to get any tow on him on the straight as the lister last corner speed was far superior to that of the MC12.! - but battling on.. I did finally get the chance and took it cleanly. - but by then I was 10 secs behind the rest of the field. keeping the same pace but wasn't loosing/gaining time either.

After the 1st pitstop I was back into the same place. 6th. - and drove till the end with busi making an appearance behind me. but was able to fight him off and also he made a few mistakes in the last remaining laps.

Good racing from everyone. - I love the Mixed car class btw folks. - really intense racing.. cant wait fr next week now!.

Thanks all for letting me race again was a pleasure, as always!
