Moderator's Report

Server replay time: 1730s

Matt is lapping Racepace and appears to be undecided as to which side to pass on. Matt seems to change his mind, starting on the left side then moving over to pass down the right side.
Racepace seems to be watching his mirrors and it looks like he reacted to Matt at first appearing to be passing on the left so moves slightly to the right.
This is just a racing incident unfortunately caused by hesitation and a mix up between the drivers as to which side the pass was being made

  • Racing incident

Server replay time: 2318s

Last lap and Martin got good overlap on spanner approaching the final hairpin. Spanner didn't realise Martin was there and turned in to the apex making contact and forcing Martin to slow.
After the contact, spanner carried on to finish ahead of Martin.

Although Spanner states he didn't know Martin was so close, the contact made would have been felt and IMO spanner should have then waited for Martin to resume. Therefor I am awarding spanner a 1 place penalty.

  • spannerpenalty — Closing the door on a car with overlap — 1 place lost

Having driven Jags and aston martins around mallory Park for real last year, i really fancy racing here tonight Cool. Will see if the gods of time permit me first..hope so.

That hairpin by the white pub should be tight for a grid of cars!..it was tight enough in the E-Type on its own.  Shocked

Too right.   thumbup1  How can a track with only 4 corners be so much fun, but it is.

Crazy short lap though and what corners there are aren't easy, gonna be busy tonight.

Fezza for me.

Lucky lucky MJ, although I have to say I'd be a bit scared to drive someone else's precious old classic round here, gently does it!

Does this track exist for real?
Must be a blast to race here in the real world!
(and you must be a bit suicidal..)
It does indeed exist Alex, but it was originally designed for horses to trot around. I've only ever watched classic bikes race round here, none of which flung themselves into the barriers like the AI cars. That hairpin is a vicious swine; keep well clear.

thanks guys.

Had a look a Google and I saw that they (sensibly in this case) put in some chicanes, but it must have (been?) great to powerslide round that first bend... it goes on forever..with only grass to stop you running into the barriers  laugh

Hope it will not turn into a crashfest tonite  Undecided

Alex, as far as I am aware the chicanes are only used for bike racing, the cars still use the track we are racing on tonight.

Yeah, the chicanes are to slow the bikes down, not cars. Grin

Hope it will not turn into a crashfest tonight Undecided

More caution than normal is required but I see no reason (or excuses Wink) that we can't have a good race tonight. I hope everyone gets to enjoy that T1 at least once tonight Smiley

I'll try and retain my lead in the unofficial Aston cup tonight.

Only T1? Grin

I hope everyone but Team Prod crashes into each other at the first corner and Team Prod winds up with a 1-2-3-4-5-6-7-8-9 (I forget exactly how many members we have Grin)

Really, really fed up :'( Another excellent race ruined by a GTL lock up. I'll try a re-install but really, really fed up.

p.s. hope I didn't take Bara with me :'(

Quit about half way through - as usual got a rocket start (can nobody else count backwards from 3?!) and gained 3 places, but the heavy iron was so quick a straight line and so slow in the bends, especially out of the hairpin, that there was no prospect of overtaking with an off and indeed significant danger of running into someone (had to slam on the anchors once in turn one to avoid it!).

Was having an interesting if frustrating little battle with Geoffers when his car warped back half its own length in the final corner - with right behind him he inevitably went sailing off. Tried to wait but the track is narrow and the front straight so quick that it's not really safe to do so. Set off again but was only really racing the lapped cars, and I was having no fun at all so I stopped.

I can't really say I like the track at all - there aren't any 'proper' passing places at all. I think I've driven it once before in GPL and never again - now I know why! Roll Eyes

Although I think the moderators are going to have some work, I enjoyed every minute (unlike the Tilke track last week..).

Hard but fair battles during the entire race. Sorry if I held up the leaders; got my hands full on keeping the Healey on the road and watching the mirrors  Cheesy

They seriously race this track? Bl**y awesome!! They should get a medal.

Thanks all!

can nobody else count backwards from 3?

It's called 'taking it easy on the first lap' Dave. After several disastrous standing starts we've been repeatedly implored not to make a mad dash for the first corner. That's why you've found it easy to burn us all off at the start in the last couple of races.
