Moderator's Report

Server replay time: 1535s

Maurice is about a second behind Zacari as they cross the line, coming up to lap Gerald. Zacari starts to have a look down the inside of Gerald, but is also braking conservatively; it becomes obvious that he should wait until after the corner to pass, and begins moving back onto the racing line.

Maurice brakes at the normal point but is now running too fast to avoid Zacari, who is running at NGT pace, and is slightly offline. Zacari has just start to turn in when Maurice runs into the back of him, spinning both out (Gerald somehow escaping unharmed).

Maurice failed to account that Zacari was off line and behind a slower car; he should've braked conservatively too, by braking at his usual point he found himself suddenly closing very fast on Zacari, with nowhere to go.

Server replay time: 1573s

Greg130 is chasing Franky for the overall lead as they lap Popabawa on the run to T9.

Franky gets by easily, but Greg hasn't quite caught up before the turn, and is halfway alongside as Pops turns in and heads for the inside of the bend. There is contact, and Popabawa does very well to paddle through the edge of the gravel to rejoin without spinning.

In mitigation, Popabawa did have a slight meander across to the right on the straight, which perhaps led Greg to believe that he was inviting a pass, but if you're going to pass under braking, you really need to do a solid job and be at least fully alongside, and preferably ahead, before the turn in point.

Greg did do a self-imposed drive through, but not until 3203s - 27 minutes later - when his track position was assured. In future, if a driver is going to self-penalise they need to do it within a few laps, not after half an hour when it's convenient and they know they aren't going to actually lose any positions.

  • greg130 (Greg130)penalty — contact with Popabawa — 0 places lost (plus 2 for penalty points)
For advice only - unreported by victim, so penalty disregarded

Server replay time: 2295s

[ZiP]Tyf gets a run on Jamera out of turn 11 and is on the left and behind as they reach T12. Tyf turns in and heads for the apex but Jamera's nose is there and the resulting contact spins Tyf out.

This was a contested pass for position; Jamera held a tight line and Tyf should probably have left him room, especially as Jam's 360 is more nimble and thus faster in the corners, knowing that Jamera would then be on the outside for T13, and unable to fight back against the straight line speed of the BiT on the start straight.

On the other hand, Jamera should probably have backed off when he saw Tyf cutting across his bows, knowing that the place was lost anyway.

  • Racing incident

Server replay time: 2393s

Greg crosses the pit exit line early. He does it again later (at 3230s) after his drive through.

The rules say "Drivers must stay within the white lines delimiting the pit entry and exit lanes. In particular, a driver shall not rejoin the main part of the circuit until they have passed the end of the 'blend line'". I don't often check this but when a driver is involved in an incident I sometimes scrutinse the rest of their race, and Greg has fallen foul of it this time.

Server replay time: 3558s

Jamera has gone off on the inside of T6. Knowing that nobody was immediately behind, he tries to spin turn, but never gets enough revs on and instead crawls onto the track, presenting the full length of his car to Zacari, who is unable to avoid him, and loses a place to Ginsters.

Having failed to spin turn, Jamera should've stopped at the curbs to check that it was still clear to rejoin. I am going to reduce the normal 3 place penalty slightly though because it was such an awkward place to rejoin from.

  • Jamerapenalty — bad rejoin — 2 places lost (plus 4 for penalty points)

Apologies to my Team for leaving so early but with no practice and a decidedly choppy frame rate was not having fun at all.

Dont think I would have finished any higher GT wise if I had run the race - best to be off the track when so little confidence abounds Undecided Undecided

Another race, another class win. Grin Was amazed to qualify second in class, I'm carp at qualifying and I hardly ever do that well!

Despite another relatively low turnout, I had an outstandingly enjoyable race. Early battles with Popabawa while I struggled with a heavy fuel load and Mike Cooper in the Corvette which he was clearly finding more than a handful.

Had a brown trouser moment when Mike disappeared from my mirrors (and my attention!) and reappeared sideways and completely locked up right next to me as I turned in. Shocked Don't know how I missed him. Found myself behind him again later on and he very kindly let me past - good job 'cause I knew I'd have my work cut out trying to take the NGT win from [ZiP]Tyf in his much, much faster BiTurbo.

Backmarkers and lappers were all very, very good. Thanks to everyone for their patience and courtesy. Finally saw Tyf in the pits at about 35mins in and knew it would be nip and tuck unless I put in some good laps, so I had to stop trying to look after my medium tyres and just go for it. In the end I don't know how far ahead I was as Aajay in his 550 or 575 only caught and passed me for 6th overall with 2 laps to go.

Had a bit of brain fade on the last lap. Jamera was ahead and I was about to lap him but with about 20s margin I could afford to take my time. Promptly got my braking all wrong after he let me past and was very lucky to (a) not collect him and (b) not get caughtt and passed. Sorry Jam, must've given you a heart attack!

Very pleased to have made it the full distance with only one silly mistake right at the end at a track where I find it hard to remember which right hander is coming up after any given downhill straight! Roll Eyes Cheesy

Congrats to Franky and Greg, awesome pace. And Dave on another class win.

Delighted, and relieved, to trail in behind those two and nab a rather lucky 3rd. Zac, the pace you set on what I presume were
hards was impressive. I did not panic until 10 laps after my pistop thinking you must stop soon. You had me beat fair and square and I will not comment on why you did not. From your pace it is clear I will have to practice no stopper for Donni, if I can manage to put rfactor down that is.

As usual lapping others was always comfortable and safe. Thanks to all.

Well thats Brno done with, my favorite track, pitty I cant do that sort of pace at the rest of them.

Qual went ok, 2nd place, just a few fractions behind Franky.

Race was a case of following Franky and waiting for a mistake, which I new would never happen.  Got close a few times and perhaps could have tried to overtake but decided it was to risky, didnt want to take us both of, besides 2nd place and 41 points is better than risking all and crashing out.

Big thanks to all the backmarkers, well almost all.  99% of the passes were great but had an incident with with one, not sure whos fault it was and sorry that you eneded up in the gravel.  As a result of the incident I gave myself a drive thro penalty which eneded any chance of overtaking Franky.  For the whole race(until drive thro) we were no more than 3 secs apart so it was a real case of cat and mouse.

As a bonus I managed to set a new ukgtr record for Brno, really pleased with that, dont suppose it will last long mind.

Overall a good race, real pitty about the one contact and my resulting drive thro penalty.
On to Doni we go, now thats one of my worst tracks so things will be a little different there.

Not really my finest performance!

A combination of too much rfactor and generally not getting on too well with Brno meant it was an uphill struggle most of the way.

Had a really good battle with Dave & Gerald for a few laps with a couple of seconds covering us until Gerald fell off the track, I then got a bit caught up with the front runners lapping us and lost touch with Dave, that was effectively pretty much the end of my race!

after some time without GTR, i could do same laps as a reserve in a GT3 Cup, this car is way to slow, and there where no other G3 reserve drivers, so i was racing myself. but hey, i needed the track time to get used again.   I only had one collision with a red 550 or 575,that slipped of the track in a corner and came back on the apex just in front of me, i couldn't avoid that collision anymore, so sorry mate whoever that was.

Well that was eventful, qualified 4th and was waaay off the pace, so I decided to risk a full tank of fuel and medium tyers rather than stopping once.

The first 10 laps or so were great, trying to keep pace with SBG was great fun.  Then I got clattered when coming up to lap people which ruined any chance I had of winning, rejoined 5th but my car was damaged and the tyers were not the same after that, couldn't get within a second of my best time.

Towards the end of the race my tyers were getting very worn, understeering like mad and had some very big moments coming out of the slower corners.  I could see the gap between myself and SBG closing and was about 6 seconds into the penultimate lap, then had the incident mentioned before which I wont comment on here.

The frustration at the end was immeasurable; I'm glad my windows and doors were shut or half the street would've heard me!  I'm slightly amazed I even finished the last lap, it was very very hard not to try and push to catch up but there was no way I could with the car the way it was.  I even got the 'tyers worn' message from the pits on the last lap for good measure!

Grats to SBG anyway, if you'd not pushed until the end I'd have been able to hold 3rd so it's a good example of the 'never say die' attitude paying off  Wink

Mmmm I had yet another short endurance race.
Was having great fun running in bunch of cars with Zacari,SBG and McClaessan, thinking to myself that its great to have other cars around to race with.
Other races I've been pretty much by myself for the duration.

Anyway I somehow managed to stuff the thing into 1st gear(!!) on entry into turn 3 and ended up backwards into the gravel.
Stuck in the sand with a puncture and race over Embarrassed

Congrats to Franky and Greg130 on mindblowing pace and to SBG for yet another podium finish.

If you don't use 1st gear and I think Brno is such a track... set it very high just below 2nd gear so you can avoid spining if you accidentally change one gear to low.

Hi All my gear is now working ok and I thought praccy went realy well . In the race I was probably faster than several of the cars in front but found that by being hesitant in trying to pass I lost my rythum and ended up making some really silly errors on cold and worn tyres.I must really learn to put the correct ammount of fuel in as well as I could have gone half the race distance again. It was very enjoyable for a change anyway.ps It sort of phased me to have several cars visible on the screen as I normaly run alone.bye for now gerald

rufbtr thanks for the apology, although there was no need, it was me that fell off the track in the first place. I went thru a bad spell around that time and had a couple of needless spins, which rather ruined my strategy of one pit stop after 34 mins and meant I fell into the clutches of the N-GT guys and had to fight to finish ahead of them, although to be honest I wasn't on the pace of the other GT runners.

Also apologies to Mike Cooper, hope I didn't push you out of the pits too soon. We must of been sharing the same pit box, as when I pittted behind you you stopped where I was told to stop. Tried to pull up behind you but I think I pushed to hard - (ooo'er missus!)
