Moderator's Report

Server replay time: 1164s

Geoffers misses his braking point and rear ends Tinman hard, sending them both off. Geoffers was trying to overtake Ade, but hit the car infront which was Tinman.
Incident with big consequences, as Tinman's car was damaged in the early stages.

Server replay time: 1389s

I didn't see anything at the reported 1359, but I think the incident mentioned was at 1389.

Matt loses a bit more speed than normal in the Porsche curves. This slower speed surprises Edamspeed and he hits Matt at the rear. Edamspeed couldn't help that as he was very close. Geoffers was also following very close and due to the contact between Edamspeed and Matt, the car of Edamspeed slowed drastically, leaving Geoffers no place to go and he hits Edamspeed at the back.
Nothing all drivers involved could do.

  • Racing incident

Server replay time: 1981s

Matt says he was wobbly in the Porsche curves and Geoffers has more momentum and takes a tighter inside line. When he is on the inside Matt closes the room and the cars rub doors. There was hardly any room and on overtake attempts like that would not be adviced for the future. Due to the door rubbing, Matt's car spins and Geoffers wait.
If this was clearly an overambitious overtake attempt, it would have been given a penalty. It's however unclear what the real problem was here.

The Pantera is in a league of its own here...should be banned IMO  Wink It can wipe the floor with most of the cars at a fast track like Le Mans. Its the 935 of our current car selection (see other thread Tongue )

Still unsure which car to take.  Undecided

Vette is faster in a straight line than the Pantera Grin. And a lot more fun too Cheesy

I think I'm going with the McLaren again, it actually handles quite well around here, just at bit tricky through the chicanes either end of the S/F straight. Also the tyres don't seem to reach the real high temps they do on the short circuits, so might last a bit better. Tried 4 or 5 laps last night & did 4.34 quite easy so should be able to knock another 2-3s off that. Just need to enable HUD now to know when to pit!

Think I may add a little Mardi-gras colour and atmosphere in the big gay stars n stripes smallblock Vette.   Grin

Not when I'm driving the smallblock.  Foolishly tried an AI race to test it out, and the AI were so insistent in crashing into my fat arse as I crawled through the corners I only got a single clean lap at 4:41......I'm sure there are several seconds to be gained on that though.  It can't be 10+ seconds off the pace of a Pantera....can it?

I have run a dozen or so laps in the Pantera and am coming in just under 4:40, not very competitive but am sure that my times will improve during the race.  One question - how do you enable a fuel gauge as there doesn't seem to be one on the dash.  I'm using a tally chart at the moment and crossing out each lap completed so I know when to pit which is fine in practice but no good when racing.  I use the cockpit view, never been a fan of chase as it feels wrong to me, my sons being brought up on Gran Turismo are the opposite and prefer the chase view.  Each to their own I guess.

Smallblock? That the patriotic red one? That one is useless, it might be a bit lighter, but that ain't noticable in handling, and the lack of power is. The Mean green machine is a beast and it was quicker in a straight line at Silverstone (88 I think).
