Not sure what happened there, last night lapping in the 2:09s with the occasional 2:08 everything felt fine - come the race total nightmare

Think you lost plenty of Pantera bits at start Diki  Wink Not sure what happened but there was no way of avoiding you, sorry.

Shame about the turnout but I guess Strictly is a huge draw (who got voted out? Wink) but I had good fun anyways. Cheers to Spanner and Klose for some very good racing. It was good to get back into road block mode and trying to hold up the bimmers for as long as I could. Somebody should have told Ford that biscuit barrels don't make great brakes.

Congrats to Oily, Lazlow and Geoff  Smiley I can assure you gents that that wasn't a waste of time, you will see that track again Smiley

I reckon the track should be really good, but I just can't get the hang of it. Sad
Even in the trusty 906 I felt like I was forever sliding about the place with zero grip. But others didn't seem to suffer so was probably just me.
Well done all finishers & good effort Laslow in your 1st race!

Which is exactly how sundays should be spent. I'd had half a bottle of a quite decent Tempranillo before I arrived at the circuit and after nine laps realised that this probably wasn't the best preparation.
Well done Oily, but this doesn't count as one of your ten  Grin

I was pleasantly surprised how much i enjoyed that, think it was going to turn into a marathon. Dont know what happened at the start but i'm sure half the grid didnt move! seemed to end up 3rth behind Madd. Then I just spun it coming off of that double right hander dropping me right back. Managed to catch up SBG and Klose and then had a fun time trying to get past SBG but the power of the GT40 seemed to always win down the straights, though the lairyness of it round the corners caught me out a few times! Shortly before my stop i found Lazlow coming on strong behind me, didnt think the 906 was that quick!

After my stop I seemed to end up ahead of SBG by about 15 secs, but as people seemed to be dropping out and i was getting bored on my own i thought i'd drop back for some more fun!

Thats twice now i've enjoyed the underpowered beemer, shame the overpowered one isnt quite the same.

Mentioned to Oily during the race it would brilliant if the track was used during a season where we would get more people, as its fun track.

Yeah had all the makings for a cracking race but it did sort of fade away second half. Dan's setup was sweet so the Escort was pretty much a joy to drive, even if the long first gear meant the 0-60 was probably on a par with the Jag. I thought I was going to get absolutely mugged off the start but by some miracle I headed in to the first turn first with the black Escort nowhere to be seen.

I knew it wouldn't be long before somebody started harrassing me and after a brief spell of what I thought were some decent laps, Minton was closing in at a steady rate. It frustrates the hell out of me that I wasn't already maxed out but as soon as Dan was within a couple of seconds, I remember thinking I'd much rather he stayed there so went about trying to use a bit more of the track and before I knew it we were banging in regular late 2:07's which was almost a second quicker than my pb. Sounds like your tyres weren't in great nick Dan but it was shaping up nicely for a bit there!

Lap 24 came around so quickly, was expecting this one to be a long hard slog but before I knew it I was ducking for fresh boots and had no idea what happened to you Dan, just saw the name tag sort of in the distance but couldn't make out if you'd just fired past on the start/ finish or actually come in - was totally confused until i saw the gap when I realised something must've happened.

Really wish I'd slowed down now as the rest of the race was uneventful aside from a quick trip into the gravel as I tried to pass the missus a drink while attempting the twisty bits lol.

My first 100 min race and really enjoyed the combination, thanks for sorting that Ginsters - can't wait to do the track again and I hope there's an opportunity to use the Escort too (don't ask much  Grin)!

Cheers to everyone who turned up, shame some of you couldn't make it but it was pretty clear Thursdays are the way forward!

P.s - Welcome Lazlow (grats on fastest lap!) and other people I hadn't seen before  Grin

I was just waiting for you to pit and follow you in then we could battle out the second half of the race, was gutted when i drove past my pitbox.  But dont worry there will be plenty of battles next season. Wink Just cut back on the practice mate. Tongue

I enjoyed the track in practise offline, but since I have some technical difficulties (as Paul Gilbert puts it) I didn´t want to come in to wait for the pc to freeze. I´ve had two odd game freezes playing GTL and GTR Evo, the picture just jams and after a few seconds continues again. The game is not freezing, it´s only the picture. Some glitches in graphics card, may be driver related or something totally different. I have a Geforce 8800GTS with 320mb memory, Core2 Duo processor, 3GB ram... It all started at Le Mans where I got several CTDs and couldn´t race, now its had two freezes.  Huh
