Moderator's Report

Server replay time: 206s

TrueTom gets the Bilstein chicane wrong in spectacular fashion, collecting Tyf, Aagramn, and Tom Cooper.

  • Racing incident

Server replay time: 1723s

Smiler goes off after Triple and slides all the way across the gravel, just coming to rest on the track as Shark arrives.

Good comedy value if nothing else.

  • Racing incident

Server replay time: 1926s

Shark is coming up to lap Jamera and follows him through the Shell Esses. As he comes out of the left hander, he stays right to allow Shark past, but Shark himself wants to stay right to defend against Blaz.

Jamera either brakes or backs of dramatically half way down the straight; luckily, Blaz has not attempted to get alongside Shark, who reacts quickly and darts out to the left to avoid Jamera.

  • Jameraadvice — don't lift off to let a faster car by if they're still behind you
  • Simon Gymer (Shark)advice — if a backmarker makes their chosen line clear, move to the other side

I couldn't quite close on, but then Greg made a mistake and i was wondering if I could keep him in the back. He was quicker and I was really cooking my fronts (130 in the end) but managed to keep the lead so he couldn't close. On another track he would have had me. But he was very patient and let me come 5th. I don't know if I would be as patient.
Well Tom you didnt crack so you deserved the 5th place.  I couldnt get close enough at the right place to make a safe overtaking move, wasn't going to risk forcing you off with a risky move so the place was yours.  Besides I definatly cant afford any more penalties, so it's extra cautious driving from me now.

I shouldn’t have gone straight to race after more then 2 weeks off from GTR Embarrassed
The size of the monitor image by itself was enough for having driving difficulties (I didn’t had a single glance to a monitor during my holidays).
The wheel, pedals, car movement and all the game and driving seemed completely new. It’s amazing how my perception and reaction changed after some time away from the game and controllers.
I qualified 3rd but with great difficulty after each corner and with more then 1 sec from my PB. The car continuously wanted to lose rear but I know it was only my driving, as the setup was the same.
Even at straight, when accelerating, I had difficulties to keep the car in a straight line Smiley
I followed Jon and Mark for a couple of laps before my first spin dropping to 7th. I was able to get to 6th after taking truetom, if I remember correctly. During some few laps I though I was getting into GTR again when I was getting close to Greg, gaining more then 1 sec per lap. When I was at some 2 sec from Greg and already seeing the 4th and 3rd up ahead I had another spin and lost the splitter which send me to a pit in. Then I hit the button too soon and instead of only changing the splitter I filled the tank also which made me drop to 13th.
I spinned some 3 more times again. One of those was when I was closely behind ginsters but I was not driving in conditions to make a pass. I was braking harder then I should and blocking wheels and fighting to not to spin at each acceleration. I was just trying to follow ginsters to get a bit of the hang of the car but I almost bump into him. I was not even trying to pass him, just stick with him but I spinned again after another heavy left foot braking (from me not from ginsters).
I had a last and final spin that put an end to my race at the last lap with a broken suspension.
Anyway, even if it doesn’t seem, I had a blast in GTR just trying to keep the car in track. Very fun race nonetheless just like I was driving GTR for the first time Cheesy
Hope to be in better shape for home race Grin

My 2nd proper  race with UkGTR and atleast I managed to finish the race, albeit the last driver to finish I think! Cheesy
Being a reserve I found the 15 mins qual too short to get a good lap in and was over 1.5 secs off my pb.
How embarrassing, I crashed on the formation lap! I clipped a cone in the chicane, so started way last Roll Eyes
Drove at a steady pace all race hoping for some dnf's but there were only 2 all race.
On the last lap as the tyres went off I missed the apex on turn4 and went across the grass, ended up facing across the track. Sorry Shark I think it was you that couldn't avoid me.
Anyway I enjoyed the race and hope to do a bit better next time.

Yes no worries just an accident. You just happened to end up right on the racing line in front of me on a blind corner after attempting a reasonably good impression of a lawn mower.  Shocked I did laugh to be fair as your car couldn't have stopped in a worse position. Good job GTRs damage model is so shit as I thwacked hard into you denting my front but it didn't seem to affect the car for the last few laps scrap with Blaz.
