Best I could do in the 997 was a 1:35. Shocked

Looking at the physics files I can only assume it's related to the tyres - the suspension file is copied directly from the 996 (and I suspect is only used for visuals anyway) and the HDC (physics) file doesn't contain anything obviously wierd in terms of suspension, downforce or weight distribution.

Well, that's interesting. I just tried the 996 RSR and now I know what symptoms I'm looking for, it has the same front end wandering phenomenon - less pronounced, for sure, but definitely present. I assume it's related to the Porka's ridiculous weight distribution Tongue and the 997's greater mass and power have simply served to emphasized it.

Just need to chuck a couple bags of sand in the boot (bonnet?!) to make it work right......similar to what you have to do with its brother...the VW Beetle  Wink

well one thing i've learnt from experienced 911 drivers is to get the front end tucked in by turning-in on the brakes, keeps the weight on the front and steer out on the throttle...

sorry i know most ppl know this but to the newcomers it helps hugely in wet condition!  Wink

Well I didn't lol

Qually was ok getting 6th....7 different cars in the top 7 places in qually.  Grin

Race was going ok but unfortunately I had forgotten to replace my soft rear qually tyres for the race and they started overheating afyter the first few laps. Lost a couple of places running wide then did the same again next lap....only this time a very lightly hit the wall....engine died  Huh

Ah well, next time

Grats to winners/podium/finishers

argggggggg not again!!! Computer froze and got a blue screen once again!

I had done a nice quali lap with a 1:30.5 and kept the lead till I ran wide at the entry of the stadium. Was 4th, then 3rd when FreQ spun and retired. I was trying to follow TT just ahead of me and keeping an eye on Brian just behind me. Was having good fun in the wet. Damn!!!

PS: If anyone can help me on how to solve my problem here's the details explained in the blue screen.

It says there may be a problem with file "nv4_disp" and then there was this line:

*** STOP: 0x000000EA (0x86DE07A0, 0x86E22F60, 0xF79D7CB4, 0x00000001)

My lack of GTR2 action showed badly.

Jumped on with only minutes to go before start.

The car was new, the track was tricky, not a good combination.

Struggled badly and make too many mistakes, the car felt really different after all these weeks playing iracing.

I could not work out where to brake with the spray and lack of practice.

It's also the first time I've played GTR2 since getting my new 5.1 speakers and to be honest not sure if it was them or not, I could not work out where anyone was in relation to me.
I thought at times someone was on my tail only to see the next car was a good bit back.

After dropping back about 7 seconds I managed a few clear laps and the distance between me and leader came down to 5.5secs.

I then lost it and hit the barrier and was stuck for a while. Lost a few positions and damaged the car but carried on.

I had a little door rub with Psuedo. Not sure if it was me or not at blame for turning in too early? I never thought you were close enough next second you were there. Sorry if it was me.

Grats to Dan on a fine performance.

Jeez i must be the unluckiest sim racer known to man  laugh

Fired up the pc at 8.10 ready for the event only to find no internet or email  Angry phoned ISP, who said yep their DNS servers had gone belly up and would take 20mins to fix roughly  taz

So missed all praccy and most of qually...again. Turned up in a real tizz and fighting the clock to set a quick time only to outbrake myself on both my only flying laps...aaarrghh.  :'(

Was doing 1:31's in qually spec on srouk server earlier so was confident of a high grid slot, but not to be.

Then warmup lap, i move to the side of car in front onto the pit exit and the surface is just like oiled ice !...car flicked left/right and into the wall, smashing my lights and giving me aero damage before a lap is done !  Hit with a wet fish

Dropped to back of grid for 2nd race in a row  Roll Eyes

Then fought my way back up through the grid to get to 6th within about 10minutes or so and seemingly flying with my decent (or so i thought) wet race setup sorted and closing on Brian in 5th. But then i got one of those corner exit power oversteers straight into the blinking wall  surrender , lost about 12 secs or so and a place. Then a short while later i did the exact same thing and now my aero was severely mullered and rears were showing 20+ wear rate and rapidly turning to slicks despite no overheating temps  Huh
For last 10 mins or so i was just losing 1-3 secs a lap as car was a complete slippery hand full with those over worn rears.
Finished 7th i think, so not bad considering my traumas but should have been better based on my practise pace.
Gawd know how i can get a set of hard wets to survive 40mins.  Undecided

Great win Dan and well done TT.  thumbup1

not bad race for me

Car felt good and was enjoying myself when the game swithed to the Desktop while I was in the main straight.  Huh

Lost 3rd place because of that then ran out of fuel on the last lap.  Roll Eyes

The lambo felt really good to me in the wet, I really enjoy driving it, very stable and it didn't give me any nasty suprises.

Surprisingly that wasnt as bad as i thought it was going to be Smiley Dont know where the 33something came from in qually had been in the 35's uptil now. Then after watching MJ go off on the pace lap(!) Just tried to keep it going until the notice saying Pseudo had left the game which meant i wasnt looking where i was going and missed the corner and ended up in the gravel Roll Eyes That was after letting Mark through as I think i blocked you a bit earlier and i thought i'd watch the master at work Wink oh well Grin

No probs Brian....You braked a little earlier than me and I overcooked it on the pedal a little and got a lock up...no damage to you  I hope, wasn't even sure there had been a touch from my view at the time.
It led to a great little scrap with RM though for a few corners.....that was fun.  Wink
