Can't get anywhere near the track records in that Marcos Sad. Over a second slower.
It's not really the amazing power, or for some reason the rears don't heat and wear, but it's that huuuuuuge lump at the front that blocks my view Cheesy. That triple lefthander is impossible to do right Tongue.

Hmmm, and with the Ford GT I did a 1:20.7. I think I want Monza for the Marcos Grin

So far for me:

Marcos 1:22.3
Ford GT 1:20.7
DB9 1:20.5
C6 1:20.4

Marcos is a monster but for me the biggest problem is the lack of view. Too hard to see the apex and it will be too dangerous to pick this car for this track as I won't see any brake lights as well.

Ford GT is a bit like the MC12. Steers in like mad but is quite tricky to drive. Visibility is perfect tho.

DB9 is very stable and more towards understeer (all cars driven with same setup). Nice sounds, fun handling and good visibility.

C6 is very very forgiving, tells you exactly when it's gonna go. Sounds are great but visibility is quite poor with the rollcage infront of you Tongue.

Jeff you would elevate yourself to a divine status if you would pull it off to win in the Marcos.... Grin
and if Freq would not follow suit and show up in any other car he would be the ultimate whimp so a real win/win situation here for you Wink

FreQ already is the ultimate wimp Tongue.

The thing is, I'd love to race with the Marcos, but I think it will be too dangerous as I just can't see anything Grin

What is it with everybody ganging up on me in this thread?! First Psuedo and now everyone's doing it! I'm even being offered free rope!

He won't ever do that, because he's a wimp too!

Easiest cars: Lister, Saleen and Lambo
Hardest cars: Viper, Marcos and MC12

I prefer to say:
  • Best cars
  • Crappy cars

Is this a semi-low grip circuit? I'm having to take a higher gear through some corners just to try and stop the rear losing traction coming out even though it just doesnt feel as quick, especially the first corner sequence.

If i increase the rear roll bar shouldnt that help to keep the rear end from rolling around and help traction from both rear wheels? More often i've found dropping it helps Huh

I'm pretty sure dropping it helps. Smiley

has anyone tamed the Aston here yet ?   I really struggled with it, felt like driving on ice even in dry and car just wanted to understeer off at every corner or throw you into the armcos on every corner exit  Huh
I havent even tried it in the wet yet but dreading it now i've tried it in the dry  Shocked

Any setup advice appreciated for it here as at the moment i just dont think i could drive it for a race length or even a 5 lap stretch without binning it  Sad

On ice? Really? I thought it was extremely stable and understeery. If you want I can sent a TT lap and setup.

yeah i would appreciate that, cheers Jeff...though i would have no hope of staying with your TT  Grin

i thought it seemed to suffer a real lack of grip, especially compared to the C6 i tried afterwards.

Guys

I am rarely ata virtual wheel on Sunday eve, I'm normally at a real one.
I would like to be aboe to join the odd race where I can though
I have had GTR2 working before on a different box, but I can't get it to run on this one

The system is the same one I use for GTL and that works fine.
When I try to start GTR2 it goes to the config graphics GUI, and whatever I choose
(normally 1600x1200x16Bit for GTL) it just keeps looping back to that GUI, even if I take
the offered 800x600 it still goes away for a few secs, then brings up the UI again.

I have installed the 1.1 update. Only possibly weird thing about this box is that it is
now running Vista-64 bit (memory needs for work)
Core2 duo. Nvidia 8600GT , 4 gig, Vista -64

I am running the latest Nvidia drivers, I have d/l'd some older ones to try.
Any clues?

Ta
Matt.

The box said "Windows 2000 server or better" So I installed Solaris
