Moderator's Report

There were no reported incidents in this race and most incidents, where they occurred, seem to have been self inflicted.

Pit stops seem to have caused some confusion and in one case a premature disco. I suggest that people familiarise themselves with the guidance on the UKGPL website and download the "GPL WAIT" programme to remove the need for stopwatches etc.
One word of warning about GPL WAIT.
It is possible to add your own message to the "pit in" and "pit out" alerts, but I have discovered that using letters like "v" ( as in my name!!) will cause GPL to invoke its own command, i.e. change your view to another car!!! which is somewhat disconcerting and does nothing for the quick exit from the pits either, so be warned and maybe try out the settings off line before you use it anger.

Round 9 of the Season 15 Div 1 championship is at sunny Zandvoort.  Remember it is PRO rules for Div 1,  and the soft sand and undulations of this circuit punishes any mistake, so bring towel and deck chair to watch the rest of the race in comfort.

We could benefit from a few more drivers joining with the current Div 1 crowd, so if you want to test yourself against the best ( and the rest!!) get practising Zandvoort and be there on Sunday.

Don't forget, incident reports should be entered on the SRou system following the link at the bottom of the results table when it appears.  Race details below.

Div 1 Season 15 Round 9 is this Sunday at 9:00 p.m. London UK time.
Please be in VROC UKGPL chatroom by 8:55 p.m.

I'm there. Intending to race the Eagle, does that mean I gotta make a pitstop?

Afraid so. In Div 1 everyone is treated the same, no matter where you are in the championship.

Been practicing after a while out of sorts. Since I've been more used to the 65s, the 67s are a BIG handful!!! Cheesy

Take something that you won't overheat the tyres much in, that's most important IMO. Cooper and Brabham come to mind.

Quite agree Hristo,  there seem to be far too many right hand corners for such a short circuit!!!

Okay, how do I do the stop without getting thrown out? I was in the pits for about 30s and the game retired me. I moved the car slightly at around 25s (thought it might prevent throwing me out).

What do I have to do?Huh

Bad luck Gasper, that was a fantastic qualifying run you had going.

You need to move it forward a little every 10 seconds or so.

Well well well, what a race night that was! Qualifying went better than expected, I wasn't anticipating a 1:25.5, since I'd not got anywhere NEAR that in pre-race practice and my previous best was a 25.6. The race started badly, I ended up plum last, and just tried to make my way past the loud BRMs at the back of the field. I made a couple more cockups into T1 missing my braking point in the draft of another car, and had a few more excursions before and after pitstops, but I'm absolutely gobsmacked after all that (and I clouted the wall at Tunnel Oost when I went a bit wide) I ended up 4th! 4TH! In my first UKGPL race with no Shift-Rs!

Bloody good show lads, keep it up! Congrats Hristo on a truly dominant win, Clive and Will for keeping it on the black stuff to make the podium, and Dave for the battles we had on track!

I always moved every 15-20 sec using lots of revs and letting the fronts do at least two turns.  I seem to remember that you need to get rid of the "Press F1 for help" message.

Bad luck Gasper.  Advice on how to make a Pit Stop is on the web site here.

There is no need to creep down the pit lane to avoid being discoed.  I was also in the Lotus and I made a successful stop at the end of lap 9.  I stopped at replay time 15:07 spun up the wheels once at 15:31 and moved off at 15:54.  My pit stop was 3 seconds longer than it needed to be because I was a bit slow setting GPL Wait going.  I also made a bit of a cock up pulling in, I clipped the pit wall.  Having said that it was a perfectly legal stop.

When the server replay is available I suggest you have a quick look at my pit stop so you know what you have to do to ensure you don't get discoed.
