Tried this track a few weeks ago, in GTR2 and GTL I think, and it was superb looking, but terrible for frame rate it's like the builders were into eye candy and not racing. Initial impressions were it was rubbish and unusable however pretty it looked. Be interesting to see what other get here. could be just my settings, but I had stuff fairly low.

superb looking track, no performance problems here, but then again there were only 2 players on the servers when I tried.

Done a few untidy laps in each. 1:44.9 in GT40, 1:40.0 in 906, 1:38.8 in 911 FPS drops to 63 a few times, mostly 84. The chicane onto start/finish is really choppy, though it says 63 the screen jerks at about 4 Hz for a few seconds. Cars seem a bit big and rear heavy for the loverly bends over brows stuff. If you look at the curved edges of the track they are more "curved" than most of the places where you can see the straight sections, here there are so many sections in a curve that it looks great but is too many polys for smooth FPS.

Did a few races here with RFACTOR Historix mod, GTL and GTREVO's Minis and GT cars, had no problems at all. Good frames and excellent track for racing.

The MK I GT40 is now added to list. Done because the Gulf version appears to be faster than MK II around here. A nice spread of GT40's, I know Madd is taking the other MK I , would be nice for testing. So I say again, the Gulf GT40 model is fastest.

Hmm... the Gulf GT40 seems faster. Gulf GT40 Mk1 1:36.0 911 1:37.7 906 1:37.8 But then I am poor at coleopterology, so some may have it all the other way round.

Matt (that is you phspok isn't it?) - are you using some strange skins at all? When you are on the server I get a CTD when it loads you after I join.

Paul
yes Phspok = Matt Rowe I am not using anything strange I am aware of. A guy from Denmark just joined me on line. I was using GT40 mk1 Gulf, then GT40 Mk1, then 906 then 911 He was in the game with me for all of them
Managed 36.9 in 911, I expect the specialists will go a deal quicker than that. I will probably take Gulf GT40, unless there is a crowd with it, in which case i will try to get under 37 in 906, but I don;t think I can.

Have you installed the terrain patch? When we were at Valencia, I was getting in '4th time lucky' most times... keep trying.
