All members welcome.

There are no start lights/flags for this event so please all use the countdown method

Practice: 20:05 (10 mins)
Qualifying: 20:15 (10 mins)
Race: 20:25 (59 laps = 80 mins)

Pit Stops: You must make a minimum of one pit stop during which you must take on at least 1 litre of fuel or change your tyres. You cannot take your mandatory stop at the end of the pace lap, or with less than 1 lap to go.

Track: Portland 1970 here .

Cars allowed: DeTomaso Pantera (297kW), Ford Capri RS(231kW) i.e. the slower versions, Ford GT40, Porsche 914, AC Cobra and  McLaren M1A download here.
Time of Day Setting: 12:00
Start: STANDING

Server: UKGTL S7
Password: see above

Notes:
(1) It's best if all drivers can make sure they are connected before the Qualifying session as drivers on track during qualifying will not see cars that join after they are on track until they go back to the garage.
(2) Please make sure you are fully aware of the SimRacing.org.uk Rules.
(3) This race will be run using the UKGTL Skin Pack 1.7.0.0 which will need to be installed prior to racing; please get it from the downloads page.
(4) Driver lists can be found on the championship standings page
(5) The AI control should be turned off so that you have control of the car at all times, including pitting. Your player file should therefore read
Autopit="0"
Force Autopit Off="1" // Forces autopit always off
No AI Control="1" // AI never has control over car

If you still finding pitting problematic, experience tells us that its less to do with positioning and more to do with approach speed. A slow approach to pit pit crew chief has proved most reliable.

This looks like it's an Enduro event Cool

Perhaps the rules regarding AI pit control need repeating for any newcomers?

There's an update at nogrip for the McLaren. Can we use?

Sadly, I would have to say no.

They look like fairly cosmetic changes to me and I haven't got time to look at them at the mo as I've got plenty on :'(, but we should have more time to look at them at end of season. If you have time, try it on the server and tell us if mismatches occur (I half expect there might be issues).

Can't make it this time as Baby Legzy is getting Christened, so that'll be about the time yours truly will be reluctantly making a speech... "Lovely day, thanks for coming, enjoy the food... bla bla bla".

Portland has been up and running since end of race last night and I joined it a second ago with no problems. You could try a re-install of track and then try again? Huh

If you put in the default location it's:

C:\GTL\UserData\PlayerName\PlayerName.plr

Replace "PlayerName" with whatever your driver name is.

Aha! My computer didn't recognise the file so it wouldn't show up as a notepad file. Thanks for the help  Smiley

We just had a great laugh. A good demonstration of 'how not to learn a track!' Wink
Six of us piled on the server (from doing GTR2) with not a lap of Portland experience for any one of us, jumped forward to the race session & off we went  Cool Cool

Lap1 T1 was carnage lol. Who puts a brickwall at the end of a straight??? lol
Lap2 T1 was much better, only three hit the wall!  lol

Looking forward to this, it went on to show early signs of being a good match up of cars/track  I Am Not Worthy
