My rose tinted optimism of running here and so didn't need much practise is now shattered laugh Looks like I'll be on most of the weekend at this rate, the long corners are a nightmare in the 997 and the fronts are going to drop off a bit quick. Can only just get into the 46's if i'm lucky.

According to the current forcast we've got less then a 1 in 3 chance of it raining. That seems like decent odds for a dry race Smiley

It happens a lot lately that when a new participant enters during practice or qualy I get kicked in a way that GTR shuts itself and has to to be restarted.
Tonight when Busi entered I got kicked back to desktop. I managed to re-enter in time to join the race, only to lose connection after two turns.
Is my system less stable or is it a general problem? This was actually the first time that I lost connection during a race since I started here.

Hope the rest of you at least had some fun.

Evert

Well I came in this race with no setup and no practice. The formation was messed up with Syd's warping ferrari. I suddenly rammed into him...nothing I could do. Same thing happened when I was stuck behind him for several laps. Wasn't really fair that I couldn't pass him anyways...tried to get close and then suddenly I nudged him... Huh After that I got going and learned the car, the setup, the track. Made several spins mistakes in the process. Came in for my pitstop, fresh tires and lighter fuel load I was able to bang in some good laps and looked forward to making up some positions however I started to experience some strange screen freezes while on Ted's viper I think. Decided to call it quits rather than risk crashing anyones race.

Thanks for having me again. Smiley

Pretty dismal event for me, to add to my earlier disaster at Road America. Car wasn't very quick but was at least gentle with its tyres, if not with fuel. Ran wide a few times and slipped down the order, but then had SpannerSmokey's F430 spin in front of me in turn 1 and I dithered for too long about whether to brake or attempt to steer round him and ended up doing neither very well. Left front fell off and I only made it half way round the track before it was obvious I wasn't going to be able to get back to the pits safely. :'(

The formation was messed up with Syd's warping ferrari.

Syd, this is becoming a bit of a running theme. It looks like you're either on a wireless connection, or you have something else using your network or connection as all through qualifying and the race your car was momentarily warping with an interval between warps of just over 1 second. If it happens in the next race I might be forced to boot you from the server to avoid impacting anyone else's race. Sad

Race didn't start well with a disco at the end of Quali, putting me at the back of the grid.

325i I think, had a spin in front of me in the opening laps and I got collected in the process :'(

Enjoyed fight ing my way up the grid and when I came up behing Gizmo, expecting a difficult time to over take due to his normal good pace he threw himself off by going slightly wide, allowing me past.

Then when I came into the pits, the pit crew just stood there doing nothing, so I had to come in for a second unnecessary stop which hurt my positioning in the race that I had worked so hard for. :'(

However still enjoyed myself.

I don't know what the problem is. I just saw after the race that my ping to ukgtr server was around 600, while to most other servers in the list it was 80 or less.
I'm on a ADSL 4096/384 connection. I haven't changed anything it the last year or so. I didn't have the problems with connection in previous GTL seasons or at the beginning of this GTR season. It all seemed to have started in the last couple of weeks. Did anything change during that time on the server?

Z4 is too strong. The guys in front were doing race laptimes one sec faster than I did in quali. In race it meant two seconds per lap which is another class, really.  Sad

Got a freeze in Q2, had to restart a PC. Not sure if anyone joined at that time, it happened when I went from setting the car onto the track. Couldn't do my best lap after rejoining, I qualified 6th.

Botched it soon and lost a few places, had to claw back up. Good, clean racing all the way. That's why I come here, guys.  wub Had some close racing with H@l first, I could see your tyres disintegrating, lol.  Cheesy  Spanner is getting annoyingly fast, caught me at half so I decided to pit. It worked out, I gained several places and got to 4th. Busi was all over me in his Vert, but could not pass, even after getting out of sleapstream the VERY last moment.  eek scared sweatdrop  Vert needs a micro boost.

Was gaining two seconds per lap towards the end to Jose. Tyres? Needed just two more laps.  ninja

Well done podium and all. Good race.  Cool

TT
